The only sounds I could hear were of my sneakers hitting the foliage littering the forest floor and the din of insects. I tried calling the guy again but to no avail. I threw my phone and it landed with a wet crunch.. I looked down to see ice heaps below my feet. I'd been so preoccupied with running that a change of terrain slipped my mind...
"Why do you look so pale? What happened?", said a rich voice from behind me. I whirled around to see a boy clad in a black hoodie with silver fur adorning the edges and brilliant blue ocean eyes. His hair was black too, disheveled and he was healthy. I could only ask, "Where am I?"
...
He glanced at the foliage behind me and his eyes widened. I opened my mouth to ask what happened but it happened in a flash.
The next thing I saw was a blizzard and one of those metal monkeys,dead and long gone. So it had been pursuing me after all..
I could only look up at him with a questioning face and shiver from head to toe when he seemed to understand and said, "Come with me."
Since I had nothing else to do I followed him.
The place was a real heaven. Apart from the snow and ice that blanketed the terrain in patches, there were numerous cavern that had long and sharp stalactites which were clear and pale blue. It had stalagmites on the edges which weren't as brilliant but glowed, nevertheless. He led me into one particularly grandiose cavern which had some light,. thanks to the fire sconces kept in regular intervals but the fire emanating from them was a rare cobalt blue with some azure in it.
I was so enthralled by the sight that I walked straight into him.. and he merely said here's our coordinator, pointing to a will-o'-the-wisp at some feet away.
I asked him his name. "Denver",came the reply.
I waited for the 'coordinator' to come and it did. It buzzed with a faint sound and the next thing I knew I was being teleported.
The last thing I saw through the haze was Denver smile at me..
Quiet...
So quiet... and warm..
