"Fuck! Be gentle!"
Like a rag doll, Kane was thrown into a bigger prison cell than the one he had woken up in earlier.
"Yo monster man! Can you tell the high pitched guy I was only kidding before? I mean you know I was only joking before right?"
The hooded monster that had escorted Kane and the other prisoners to the Colosseum shuts the cell door and stares at Kane for awhile.
An awkward silence envelopes the cell.
"Look dude, I've already told you before, I'm married and I don't swing that way ok? Don't get any funny ideas!"
The hooded monster keeps staring at Kane, giving him the creeps.
Back in the Colosseum, Kane had exploded with unprecedented might. Even a pure blood that released his second bloodline limit couldn't compete with him.
"No... warrior energy... what are you?"
The hooded man said as he broke the awkward silence between the two.
"Me? I told you guys! I'm a boxer! Did you see me when I said that line! I was pretty cool right! Too bad for the ladies, but this handsome man here is already married. A real shame really."
There was another awkward silence.
"Here."
The hooded monster throws a tattered old book onto the floor.
"You... strong.. but too weak for other warriors.. read.. get stronger."
Then the hooded monster turns to leave.
Kane sat there silently staring at the hooded monsters back.
It wasn't that Kane was afraid of this monster and didn't want to fight back, cause he did. He had tried, but he'd failed miserably.
Back at the Colosseum, when Kane announced that he was a boxer, he was pretty proud of himself. He thought, "Man, if only Maria could see how cool I am right now."
But the gates opened and the hooded monster strolled out and grabbed Kane by the neck with ease.
Kane tried fighting back, but the hooded monsters grip was too firm and he was simply dragged back and thrown into this new cell.
Kane wipes the imaginary sweat from his forehead "Glad Maria didn't see that."
Kane looks at the tattered book on the floor and picks it up.
The book was made of some skin like material.
He looked through the book and realised he had never seen these weird symbols before. But strangely enough he could read and understand it all perfectly fine.
"Turtle Fist technique? What the fuck is this?"
Kane flips over to the first page and reads through it.
"Turtle Fist. One fist to end all. This is the accumulation of my, Emperor Taiyi's, life's work."
At first Kane thought the name of this book was lame and that anything called a turtle fist has got to be useless. But the more he read, the more shocked he became.
Emperor Taiyi was a pure blooded human, and thousands of years ago during The War of the Races he made his name known. He started his legend as a poor orphan who fought his way through many battlefields to one day unite all the humans and fought for their place on this continent.
The name 'Emperor Taiyi' was feared among a multitude of races.
In the past, humans were seen as livestock. They were small, weak and helpless creatures. Compared to the other races, the humans lacked a means of survival. But Emperor Taiyi changed everything.
Though humans were weak, humans could breed and multiply on a larger scale compared to the other races. The elves would see the birth of a new child once every decade or so. And the dwarves' population of females was scarce. Humans, on the other hand, had a higher birth rate, where there were hundreds of thousands of children born every year.
With the protection of Emperor Taiyi, the human population was protected and allowed to grow. Though some races, like the Barbarians and the Beast Men, tried to stop this growth, Emperor Taiyi was just too strong. Nothing could stop the rise of his Human Kingdom.
Now, thousands of years later, the human race occupy almost 70% of the Ariya continent, driving the rest of the races either under ground or into uninhabitable places.
The Turtle Fist was the most well known martial arts move used by Emperor Taiyi himself. Legend says, "He who masters the Turtle Fist to its ultimate form would wield the power to shatter mountains and divide the seas."
"Bullshit."
Annoyed at what he's reading, Kane does not believe a single word of it. Though some of the history may be true, he does not believe that one man could shatter mountains and divide the seas. Though these people could glow like fireflies, some may be able to fly, some may be able to make ice, but none of them seem strong enough to even move a mountain, let alone shatter it.
Kane quickly skimmed over a few pages until one of the titles caught his eye: "Warrior Levels."
According to the book, warrior levels are divided into three sections: Mortal, King and Emperor. The first section is the Mortal Body, which itself can be further divided into ten subsections. But before you can even step into the Mortal Body Level, you need to first activate all three levels of your bloodline limit.
Bloodline limit is an innate special ability that each race is born with. For a pure blood, unlocking their bloodline limit is a lot easier, but for those of mixed blood heritage, trying to unlock their bloodline limit is near impossible.
Each races bloodline limit will produce different powers and special gifts for the individual warrior. Once the third bloodline limit has been reached, you can then attack the first level of the Mortal Body.
The path of the Mortal Body is known as cleansing. The cleansing of the skin, fat, muscle, tendons and bone constitute the first five subsections. The last five subsections are more dangerous because they involve the major organs: the stomach, liver, kidneys...
The book was so tattered that the last few sentences had completely worn out and Kane could no longer make out what was written.
"So the glowing thing that those guys did was called a bloodline limit? And that's barely the beginning of this warrior level thing? I wonder how strong someone would be if they went through all of this cleansing thing? Would they become like superman or something?"
Kane quickly flips through the other pages to try and get some more information, but just then, his cell door opens and the hooded monster returns with Yoshi in tow.
The hooded monster throws Yoshi into the cell, then locks up and leaves.
Yoshi gets up and dusts himself off.
Compared to earlier in the Colosseum, Yoshi looks a lot better. Most of his injuries were quickly healing and the minor injuries were almost invisible.
"So you're bunking with me huh? Wow? You like a cockroach or something Yoshi? How come your injuries have healed so quickly?"
Yoshi stares at Kane for a long time unsure how he should respond.
He had watched Kane completely toy with and destroy a second bloodline limit breaker and also wipe out a squad of soldiers in the blink of an eye.
The dangerous feeling he had when he had first met Kane completely show cased itself at the most crucial time. So even Yoshi was a little afraid of this human. But he manages to gather his courage to ask the question that has been brewing in his head for awhile.
"What level of Mortal body have you reached? Skin? Fat? Or muscle?"
Confused, Kane looks at Yoshi like an idiot.
"What're you talking about yo?"
Yoshi doesn't blink and keeps staring at Kane like he's trying to read through him.
"What Mortal body have you reached?"
Kane remains silent unsure as to how he should respond.
"If you had only broken through the third bloodline limit, your unique trait would only be magnified and at most you would've showcased a new power or special ability. But the difference between you and Alaric Magnus would not be so great. So the only possible explanation is that you've already unlocked all three of your bloodline limits and have already entered in the Mortal Body realm. So what level have you reached?"
Kane sits there and stares at Yoshi with a confused look on his face.
"There is no way you wouldn't have already reached the Mortal Body realm! Otherwise how could you have defeated Alaric so easily?"
Kane shrugs "Maybe I'm just strong?"
Yoshi is starting to get annoyed at Kane but he quickly calms himself down after thinking about what Kane is capable of. With a heavy sigh, Yoshi was going to drop the subject. If Kane didn't want to tell him, there was no way he could force him.
Kane sees that Yoshi was a little disheartened and tried his best to explain his situation.
"Look bro, I don't even know where the hell I am, let alone what level of Mortal Body what ever you call it. This morning I still thought I was in hell, then during the fight in the Colosseum you guys were glowing like light sabres and people flying and shit. You know how fucking freaked out I was? Like what the fuck dude, you were like an actual Ninja disappearing and stuff, which was pretty cool by the way, but before today, I've only ever seen that on the movies. Also, that monster gave me this book and I found out that this continent is called Ariya or something? And Humans are the majority? If so, how come I'm being discriminated against? Is it because of how I look? I admit, this face ain't the most handsome face, but with some grooming I'm sure I'll brush up well."
As Kane keeps rambling on, the look on Yoshi's face became weirder and weirder. Though he didn't understand half of the things Kane had been saying or the references he was making, one thing was clear, Kane was clueless.
"Hold on... You didn't know that this continent we're residing in is Ariya?"
Kane shakes his head, "Nope."
"Do you know what empire you're currently in?"
Kane thinks for a moment, "Antororo? I don't know. Why?"
"So you're telling me you have no idea where you are and how you came to be here?"
Kane is a little annoyed now being interrogated by Yoshi, "I told you bro, I have no fucking clue how I got here, one minute I was in the middle of my world heavy weight title fight with the asshole Cortes and the next I wake up here."
Yoshi places his hand over Kanes forehead seriously.
"What're you doing?" Kane questions.
"I'm checking to see if you have a fever, maybe you're sick and that's why you're a little delusional."
Kane slaps Yoshi's hand angrily, "No, you're the one that's fucking delusional, you prick!"
