Just before they reached the harbor where the ship was docked, they saw the owner of the tavern with his servant holding an umbrella next to him.
"You better get going. Hurry up. We have to sneak you in before anyone notices any anomaly. Hurry up!"
Sir Lutin beckoned the moment he spotted the approaching figure of Mu Lingxi. It's a good thing that he has a deep and loud voice because the seashore was roaring as waves after waves continue to surge at the bank. Almost muffling the sound of everything around.
An impending storm was about to break out. Threatening to make Mu Lingxi's journey towards the Magus Academia, not a smooth sailing one.
"Here young lad, take this. It will suffice until you reach your next destination."
The not-so-good-looking grumpy short man said to Mu Lingxi as he handed her a small bag. He had no idea that the one he was calling young lad, was actually a little lass.
"It has a few jars of meat jerky and jugs of water. Just enough to fill you up in your entire journey. I hope you're not that picky."
Sir Lutin added. He might not be that pleasant to the eyes, but still, he was a nice guy. Despite not knowing the man fully well, he still thought of its well being.
Remembering how her cat Janus just almost emptied their food stock just a while ago, Mu Lingxi did not turn down Sir Lutin's kind offer anymore.
"Thank you so much for your kindness Sir Lutin."
Mu Lingxi gave her regards to Sir Lutin's warm treatment.
Soon, they were already making their way using a plank of wood, serving as a bridge connecting the harbor to the ship's ladder.
Someone from the cabin crew assisted Mu Lingxi as she made her way towards the ship's deck.
When she finally sets her foot at the wooden floor of the ship, she instantly felt how strange it is.
The slow movement makes Mu Lingxi a little motion sick, but she recovered afterward. She looks at the vast sea ahead of her, and the feeling of excitement aroused her adventurous side.
She was not sure what will happen next, what kind of life awaits her now. But she knew that it is now or never. So the master and cat duo harden their resolve as they braced their selves.
"MEOW"
[It's okay little lass, I got you.]
"Oh... I suppose you better reassure yourself first."
Mu Lingxi can't help but smile as she looks at his cute little cat unconsciously trembling and clutching its paws to her dress, as hard as he could. As if he was afraid that he will get separated from Mu Lingxi's side.
"MEOW"
[Dont be silly. I was just feeling cold. Can't you see???? It's raining.]
Janus rolled his eyes as he harrumphed.
"Woah??? Is that so? But if I remember correctly, I knew someone here was afraid of water and.....thunder..."
"MEOW"
[Don't get me started little lass.]
"WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"'
"Why??? I did not say it was you??? But..... I'm sure that it's not me. HAHAHAHAHA"
Mu Lingxi sure enjoys pissing her cat off. Especially since she knew that Janus was not fond of being in vast water since her cat does not know how to swim.
She attributed it to Janus having a lingering trauma way back when it was still a kitten. When those street children almost drown him to death.
Mu Lingxi slowly help Janus recover from this trauma and help him cope up to this
unpleasant memory.
She could still remember how the small kitten used to be frightened even in just at the sight of a small puddle of water.
But Janus slowly recovered with Mu Lingxi's help. Yet there is still one thing that the cute little cat was still scared of, and that is.... taking a bath!
