"Yes Will! Another gone!" Austin smirked looking at the man in embarrasement.
"Never mind!" Will smirked back, shrugging off the topic.
"Yeah! You tell, did you talk to Milly again?" Austin smiled, remembering the cute little daughter of Will.
"Hmmm! Yes i did. It's her last year of school, but she is adament about joining only the law school and that too from where you graduated. She says she wants to be like big brother Austin!" Will chuckled, looking at Austin from the mirror.
"Haha! You mean she wants to be corrupted like me? I did try to convince her yesterday night, but I have an unintentional, high impact on her. She simply wants to join only law!" Austin sighed, feeling helpless.
"Yes! She does not listen!"
Milly was Will's 16 year old daughter, his only child, whom Austin loved and cared like his own sister. Being the only child of his parents, Milly and Smith both had fulfilled Austin's wish to have siblings. Milly's mother had died a year back, due to a heart condition. From that day, Austin made it a point to take extra care of the little girl and to visit her atleast once a week. Besides sponsering her education and living, he was also a best friend to Milly, whom she trusted and looked upto.
"Let her do it then! She is stubborn just like me!" Austin grinned, looking at Will with a teasing smile.
"Oh! By the way, your mother called up. You did not pick up her call in the morning! She wanted to wish you a happy birthday!"
"Yeah! Right! I was preparing for the case. I forgot! I will do it after I win the case! Oh! and thank you for yesterday once again, the surprise was lovely!" Austin gave a heart-warming smile to him.
It was Austin's birthday today and as usual he was not excited about it. The only thing that gave him happiness was his work and winning the cases back to back! At mid-night, Smith, Milly and Will had dropped in with a cake. They had kept it simple, because they knew that is how Austin liked.
"You don't have to say that again and again Austin! Oh! I forgot! Milly sent this for you. She made it herself!" Will handed over a small blue colored box to him.
Austin excitedly held the box and opened it. Inside was a beautiful bracelet made from precious stones, beaded in a fine black thread. "Wow!"
"She said this will give you strength and protection against everything!" Will smiled, looking at Austin from the front mirror.
Austin smiled and took out the bracelet, wearing it in his right hand immediately. "I love it!! This will be my lucky charm!"
"Great! I'll tell her that!" Will drove the car, inside the giant premises of Singapore, court.
"No! Tell her I threw it off on the road! Then she will believe, I actually liked it!" Austin chuckled and opened the car door.
"All the best!" Will exclaimed happily, turning his head to look at Austin.
"Thanks Will! See ya laters!" Austin got off the car, his smile had suddenly disappeared. His face turned back into a ferocious wolf, who was dreaded by everybody!
"Here we go!" Austin marched towards the main entry of the court, looking dapper in his suit. Behind him was his team of 10 more lawyers. Every eyes were now stuck on him. Suddenly the media came towards him, with their microphones and cameras.
"Mr. Austin! What do you have to say about Mr. Charles' hit and run case. It is a clear cut case against your client!"
"Well, you are not the magistrate. Let us produce the facts and evidences before the judicial magistrate, then I shall talk!" Austin replied, in a charismatic yet stern voice.
"So you mean to say your client is innocent?" The other media person questioned.
"Even I am not a magistrate! Wrong question again! Excuse me!" Austin chuckled and walked-off, away from the media.
The media was once again, left clean bold by his tricky replies!
Austin entered the court room, full of people. The city's most high profile case, was to be fought! Austin seated himself in the front row, fixed for the lawyers, while his team and assistant seated themselves behind him.
Soon the accused, Charles appeared inside the court. Behind him were two policemen, walking close to him. Charles, stood inside a small raised level, covered with wooden boundary.
The opposition lawyer and the plaintiff also appeared inside the court, seating themselves in the front row too, besides Austin. The plaintiff was an old man, who still had a plaster in his hand and bandages on his head. The opposition lawyer was an elderly famous lawyer, known to fight for poor people's justice.
