That night in the club.
Her phone suddenly buzzed, she looked at the text and a strong wind filled with sentiments hit her hard on a weak spot.
It was a text from someone she didn't expect...
I hope you aren't doing any mistakes there ~Mom
She just stared at the message. She felt empty, it was just empty.
Soon another message pops up.
Don't disappoint me this time ~Mom
Sera closed her eyes shut and tried to stay calm. But no matter what, there was a weird feeling running inside her. She couldn't tell if she was sad, angry, annoyed, or happy.
She was just all numb.
Being sentimental is okay. But not feeling anything is a whole new level of self-torture.
Her mind turned blank and she stormed outside the washroom in a hurry startling those girls. She walked out of the club and looked at the moon with emptiness in her eyes.
She was feeling lost.
Suddenly she saw Ian walking out of the club. She hurriedly turned around but when she feels him walking straight towards her. She walked away, unexpectedly he chased her but she carefully escaped.
After successfully escaping, she found a bench and sat down.
She sighed deeply as she looks at the stars and her lips slightly trembled and curved into a sad smile. She didn't even realize when the tears start escaping from her eyes. She tried to wipe them off but no matter how much she tries they just don't stop. Flashback from that day started appearing in front of her eyes.
She just can't stop but remember that day...
The day she first killed someone innocent.
She remembers clearly how brutal she was with no trace of humanity in her eyes she killed her.
She was screaming and fighting to breathe. She wanted to live but she killed her.
She killed herself.
It was the day she lost her cool and hit her best friend. She even warned her to stay away from her.
She came back home, she was feeling already exhausted. It was all blurry in front of her and the moment she entered her house. Her mother slapped her. Bringing her back to reality.
That tight slap left a deep wound in her heart. An incurable wound.
"What did you did Sera?" Her mother ruthlessly yelled at her,
"Mom" Aaron, her stepbrother stepped in shielded her, pretending to defend her.
Soon, her step-father also spoke up "Emily, it's okay. They are kids"
"Kids? Jack, she isn't a kid anymore. She should know what she is doing"
Emily walked towards her and roughly grabbed her hand, Sera winced in pain but she just glared at her as she asked coldly "WHY DID YOU SLAPPED RAN?"
Sera looked at Aaron, their was a slight smirk on his face. He was enjoying it. She knew no matter what she will say it will all pointless, without responding she just hangs her head low.
Seeing her rebellious attitude, Emily suddenly pushes her and slap her again.
Tears started flowing down her cheeks but she didn't utter a word.
Emily clench her hand into a fist and yelled at top of her lungs "Is this how I raised you? Is this how you will pay me back for everything I did for you? The love? The sacrifice I gave for you?"
Sera chuckled.
Emily frowned when she heard her laugh, grabbing her shoulder she forces her to make eye contact.
"What the hell are you laughing for? Do you think this all a joke? A-"
It was enough she just no longer take it, she just can't breathe like this. It was all killing her.
Sera looked straight into her mother's eyes, the eyes that were like her. Those beautiful eyes, those eyes in which she never saw softness all these years, she scoffed looking at her.
Emily lost it and harshly pushed her, Sera lost her balance and straight hit her head on the table.
"Ahh!" she touches her head and saw blood. She was bleeding.
"What do you think I am? I did everything for you... I raised you and loved yo-" Emily yelled.
But suddenly Sera cut her off, "Love? Where is that love you are talking about? Why can't I see it?"
Emily froze, a huge silence spread in the room.
