As his power and body started to fade and be adsorbed into Horus, Ra looked at his creations. He saw their solemn looks and couldn't help but say a few last words.
"Sigh~ no matter what you little bastards do, I don't regret anything creating any you or this world."
The gods were already tearing up from sadness started to cry droplets of gratitude. Like mortal children, many started to show their emotions. Even Isis was a little moved, while she was concentrating. Perhaps this was him saying he forgave her? Did he really mean it? Isis would keep asking herself in the future.
Like a father saying his last words to family they held his last words in their hearts. He truly is the belovonet creator. Deep inside they blamed themselves for being so weak that they had forced this irreplaceable individual to sacrifice himself. His words will resonate them for a long time and push them to further limits.
"I realize you...sigh~"
"Child.... all these years you must have thought i disapproved of you...", Horus who was tearing up was prickled by his words.
"But thats not true at all, it was just an old mans pettiness and selfish desire to live a bit longer....but now i will give the throne to you it..."
"Ra...", Horus's voice cracked with emotion.
"Of course my recognition doesn't mean much as you still have Set to compete with, alas it time for the new generation to take over..."
"Shu.", Ra said and turned his head to a empty area.
"Yes my lord.", an air current blew and a transparent man started to manifest in the vision of Ra. Next to that man was woman with a lions head, holding Shu as he slumped on her shoulder. It was Tefnut, the spouse and sister of Shu (Typicall Egyptian insest). The goddess of moisture, moist air, dew and rain!
"I think its time to settle my grievances with Ged and Nut...", Ra declared.
"Are you sure my lord!?", Shu was astonished. Not only him but all the other gods gasped. Has the supreme god turned into a god of kindness at his last moments?
"Yes, THIS time their imprisonment was used to the enemies's advantage, we should learn form this and loosen their shackles a bit... they have suffered enough."
Shu and Tefnut were the mother and father of Ged and Nut, and sincerely wanted them to be happy and reunited again.
"Yes my lord...", while technically all of them were related, gods such as them do not familiarize themselves as mortal families do, and treat each other with seniority to the upmost place hierarchy. However it seem their stern ancestor is having a forgiving heart and wanted to speak all his repressed affections and left each of his descendent with heartfelt words.
"It time for me to go...", Ra said as his voice echoed and faded. The sun turned bleak and dark. The celestial sun was no longer lit, and the gods started to grieve once again as they knew their creator has finally vanished.
.............................
Back in the mortal world.....
While the sun lost its brilliance, it rays that once touched the people where encased in absolute darkness. Even the moon and stars lost its shine and even it was day or night on various planets it was pitch black. But with in the absolute darkness pillars of devastating light shone!
Countless braves souls sacrificed themselves to become fuel for the gods!!! In times of despair there were those who looked at the light at the end of the tunnel and refused to give up. It was hope! Several individuals, whether it was man or animal, nobles, or a commoner, they all shone with hope! They were nothing but minuscule pebbles compared to gods but they shone brighter than ever on this day.
"Daddy!!!", A little girls cried as she hugged her dissipating father.
"Dont fret, may you like a happy life and a righteous one, we will meet again in Duat", the father tried to comfort the little girl's worries.
Little did the little child know the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate form of worship meant the dissipation of the very soul. Even in death they would never meet again in the underworld. Perhaps the little girls fears would be diluted until she was strong enough to learn the truth.
The father smiled and thought his sacrifice was for a greater purpose, like many others he was enveloped in a piller of light and then disappeared, journeying to an unknown destination even the gods don't know. All that was left of them was pure unbridle power!
"Goodbye, -bye -bye", his voice echoed and the pillar of light vanished leaving nothing for his daughter to even have a memento to remember her father by.
All hope was lost as the grand deity, the protector of their world, Ra has died, but in the depths of despair new hope arose. The temples and priest brought startling news to the mortal world, that Horus has taken up the helm of the grand deity!
The ultimate sacrifice many individuals performed was mostly directed to Ra, but with the mystic magic Was name and existed mended with Horus and all the power was sent directly to him!!! Dozens of faithful servant that sacrificed themselves not only empowered Horus but even increased his merge with Ra! A giant hawk soared through the Universe. Its cry reverberated and let out a war cry. It's size even matched Apophis's body. A new god of the sun is born!!!!
It looked similar to the usual form Horus took but many times more majestic and brighter. In fact after taking in Ra's characteristic of a sun god, he gained the iconic ability of being extremely flashy, and light blinded the realm!
The Egyptian realm and its inhabitant witnessed a new era and the hawk brought assurance and hope. It shone with the brilliance of a sun was relit and the dignity of justice and light prevailed! Only the thing was the body of Horus was so bright many had to squint and shield their eyes. Many were blinded once again...
The hawk quickly rushed and teared his talons into the body of Apophis. The motionless hooded serpent instantly squirmed and a reddish black lightning defended against the talons.
SLICE! the talons tore through the impenetrable scales of the serpent and drew first blood. Almost as if it was a trigger the serpent screamed and a surprising outcome came to be!
"HORUS!!!", a familiar voice screamed. It was not the hissing voice of the dreaded Apophis, but Set's!!! On roof of the serpent a Set body sprouted from it like a red pimple and his canine face was riddled with scales in a inorganic fashion. His form was not achieved willingly from both parties so his fusion was not as smooth as Horus's.
"HE gave it up for you!!!?!?
"It's always you!!!"
"Always beloved by the heavens!!!!", Set felt great jealousy and hatred. He had to go through all this trouble and Ra just handed the throne to him and even his powers! He would always be regarded the villain, never the hero. Horus was loved and everyone sided with him, even his wife who he imprisoned was no exception.
"If they see me as such, they they will bow before the true pharaoh of the Egyptian gods through force!!!"
"So you really did managed to subdue Apophis...", Horus held his uncle in high esteem even if he hated him and his intuition told him their battle will continue through them and only them alone. They were the new forces of light and darkness! Ra has died by sacrificing himself, and he didn't know where Apopohi's will lay, but it was undoubtedly him versus his uncle. Their grand battle began once anew and a giant hawk and serpent scrambled in their powerful avatars, divine feathers and demonic scales were scattered as they fought.
The entire universe felt it and many other planes and dimensions. Especially powerful gods like Amaterasu. She didn't show much emotion even if he was her bitter rival fought for years, but she suddenly felt very lonely at the moment.
"Good bye old rival of mine....", she softly said.
......
While in a unknown part of hell....
A tiny black ball fire, was slowly but steadily burning. And next to that ball of fire was a black and red cobra. It's forked tongue was flickering in and out. It greedily eyed the ball of flame, and unhinged his jaws.....
Will our main character be able to escape!??!?!? Toon in next time!
