The Halo disappeared leaving the sky as blue and clear as before.
But there were no doubts about it. A fiction-like event happened in their world.
An overwhelming amount of thoughts flushed on her mind. 'Damn I thought that world threats only happened in America!' despite her playful thoughts. Sarah's chest trembled, and her breathing got short and rough. her nails were digging into her palm.
Then she heard the sound of rustling clothes. she turned to the side. Her first husband, Jefferson; put one leg above the other and stretched his upper body.
This man... A second ago he was talking of a survival trial on earth...well, he was always like this, it was one of the things that attracted her back then.
She chuckled, the tension on her body was gone.
"This red rock, Should we test it?" She suddenly asked.
"No rush, the internet will have information about it soon, until then, don't drop your blood on anything." Although he said it like that, Léo's words were still fresh on his memories. More than a simple help guide, the red crystal device was a way to keep track of each individual's skill and abilities. There will be ways to keep it hidden later but for now, he stopped her.
He took out his phone and sent the same kind of message to the contact "Bella" his younger step-sister.
With the sense of urgency temporarily gone, Sarah looked at Jefferson coldly.
"Lucas is an asshole, and I understand your relationship with him, but you put my name in the middle-"
His gaze turned lukewarm at the mention of Lucas. He could just deny. Sarah would undeniably believe him and since she knows of Lucas personality too, she wouldn't even think twice. But alas, He felt like neither Isabella nor Lucas is worth dirtying his word. He cut her words short.
"I'm sorry for what I said, It wasn't my intention to disrespect you." He said seriously and with sincerity. Then he smiled. In a nonchalant tone, he said softly "But I actually wondered if you ever did it."
His intense gaze bore down on her and he continued "I know I did, at least a dozen times."
She could see his black eyes looking intensely at her, she stared back, with all the intention to question him on what the hell was on his mind to say that when it was obviously a lie. Who'd believe he was picturing another woman while having a famous actress under him?
Her eyes turned cold and she stared back at him. This kind of subject had never come in their talks, since their break up, Since he distanced himself from her.
They stared at each other for dozen of seconds, one cold, the other smiling cheaply.
But she blinked and looked around his room."You should hire someone to clean this place." She chose to ignore.
She could still feel his gaze on her back as she walked to the entrance of the apartment. That gaze was similar to the way he courted her back then. Nonchalant and subtle, gently trapping her, it wasn't even a month later after meeting him that she was already in his claws.
But she was married now, he despises the act of cheating too, so why? She threw the thoughts to the back of her head. It might just be her overthinking. But she steeled her gut. 'Just in case, it's better to be cold.'
Though she had her own sins on her mind, she only looked and never touched, and she expected the same from him.
"Don't put me in the middle of your squabble again, I won't tolerate it, even if it's you."
She said coldly as she walked through the door. She held back the subtle pain on her chest and focused her gaze to the elevator so her steps wouldn't falter.
"My car broke down." His voice came from behind, and she stopped.
"I found the cure to my mother, and I need to go there right now. But my car broke down."
She exhaled in relief 'So that was why he was acting like that. just me overthinking again. Then she widened her eyes
"WHAT!? YOU DID!?" That was the reason for going t that hellish place, the reason he studied like mad, the reason he worked unceasingly, the reason he was depressed.
He smiled back at her, he was standing straight again as he did since young.
She laughed "Let's go then! I'll take you!"
She ran to press the elevators button, looking at her back, a crafty glint shone in his eyes.
Then she turned back looked at his beard and laughed.
"Let's turn you into a human again. Then we go."

Sarah's Yellow Q8 SUV passed through the streets with elegance.
Jefferson liked the way she drove since back then. She always focused on not bumping the car and drove smoothly. His friends would mock him for letting a woman drive him around, but it was pleasure itself.
"How was it?" Sarah suddenly asked.
Jefferson smiled, Sarah was the CEO of a security company that mainly dealt with hacking, coincidentally, her company was one of the best in Brazil, coincidentally, her company was the one protecting Isabella's personal device's and social media's account. She was the one to warn him of Isabella's infidelity with proof.
"Annoying. I usually have good eyes, but because I saw wrong once, I lost four years of time."
She looked at him frowning, "Lucas cheated on me before so I know it's shitty, but it doesn't break you, even now, I know he often bangs his secretary, but for some reason, I couldn't care less."
A glint flashed by his eyes at the sudden revelation.
"The same to me, I only wanted to talk to her to confirm if I really judged wrong."
"And?" She asked.
On cue, Sarah's cellphone rang, it was connected to the aux cable, so she just accepted the call and put it on speakerphone without looking who it was.
The mocking tone came through the speakers
"Haha to think you would jump to your ex-wife right after filing the divorce, maybe you two were already a thing? should I call her husband and tell him about this little endeavor?" Isabella's voice
