Synopsis
They first met when they were kids and it was hate at first sight. He thinks she's so dumb and annoying, she thinks he's so arrogant and rude. Pranks are pulled and it doesn’t help that they always run into each other since they live in the same neighborhood. After a series of continuous pranks made at each other, Su Lijie still takes the liberty of annoying her to no end and Yu Yan being equally infuriated, if not more, of how shameless and childish he is. She never backs down and retaliates if not as vicious as the previous prank and the cycle goes on. Su Lijie knows what he’s doing is not good and while everybody sees him as a cold person, he only shows facial expression when he's annoying her. If other people tried to do what he does to Yu Yan, he will make sure he will beat them up and break their noses. Nope, he’s not jealous, at least he insists he isn’t. While they may continue pulling pranks on each other, they eventually became good friends, sometimes truce is needed for a rival, right? However, she absolutely refuses to see him as man and him likewise. The hate is strong in this one. Fast forward they’re now in their early 20’s, after finding out that Yu Yan’s boyfriend cheated on her, Yu Yan is determined to drown herself with alcohol and Su Lijie took it upon himself to accompany her drinking on a bar. What if she gets picked up by the wrong guys, right? Right! After constantly being challenged by Yu Yan and downing glass after glass of beer every time they lose the challenge, they realized too late that they had drank too much, and in their drunken stupor had the most wonderful, passionate and intense night they ever had. Before, if somebody asked them if they would date their childhood enemy, they’d rather puke blood rather than go there. After that incident, knowing that they were each other’s first in everything and discovering how incredibly compatible their bodies are, as much as they both wanted to deny it, sparks begin to fly and they begin to notice each other as a member of the opposite sex. They refuse to see each other in a romantic light, at least that's what they keep on convincing themselves. A/N: Cover photo is grabbed from a manga that I specially liked but cropped their faces until I could find the appropriate cover.

Chapter 1 - Sick

For someone who hasn't even tried being physically violent before, I think I did a pretty good job in kneeing my boyfriend – no, scratch that – my ex-boyfriend in the balls, I didn't even need to mention that he was naked. Good, that must hurt a lot, in fact I want him to hurt so much, to make him feel so much worse than what I feel right now. The girl he was with shrieked in horror and went to aid the bastard in all of her naked glory as he recoiled in pain at the far corner of the living room. I felt the triumphant smile tug at my lips; he can go rot in hell for all I care. I can't believe I dated the bastard for half a year.

"Oh God, Ying Tianxi. Are you alright? Are you alright?" the girl silently asked Ying Tianxi.

I have to admit, she's stunning. Curly, styled, light brown hair, clear doe-like eyes, stunning figure, curves in all the right places, legs that could go on forever - in short - everything that I am not. I feel like a drab in with my boring brown hair, hazel eyes, red long sleeves, and white skirt. My insides churned at the thought.

Her eyes are wide, and her lips are shaking. She was trying to get him up. Ying Tianxi flinched at her touch and tried to send her away. As if that won't make me think that I just caught him cheating on me. He wasn't making much progress though because he was also desperate to cover his junk, I'm so glad I agreed to wait - if you know what I mean.

He grabbed the nearest boxer shorts he could get his hands into and hurriedly put it on.

"Go away, Xi Chenru!"

A perfect name for a daft bimbo.

His annoyed look at her made her heartbroken and she bowed her head like a puppy and returned to his bedroom, apparently to get dressed. I turned around and grabbed the pot of hot chicken soup from the coffee table in the middle of the living room that I was supposed to surprise Ying Tianxi since he cancelled our date today, reasoning that he was "sick".

Boy, I was the one that was surprised. I should've believed what my friends keep on telling me, he is a dick. No questions asked. I didn't know having another woman riding like a lunatic cowgirl on you would cure you from being sick. I lifted the pot cover and poured everything on Ying Tianxi, he was so shocked he didn't even have time to dodge it. I think he was surprised by my usually calm and collected self, gone bat-shit crazy. As they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

"What the hell, Yu Yan!", Ying Tianxi immediately stood up and rubbed his face full of soup. His pale skin turning pinkish red from the heat. I threw the pot in his head while he rubbed his face and it made a satisfactory "Bonk" when it hit his head.

"Ouch!"

"Get well soon!", I said confidently, ignoring the hollow ache inside my chest as I turned my back against him, and walked out of his apartment door, out of his life. Before I reached the door, Ying Tianxi grabbed my hand.

"Yu Yan, wait! Please give me another chance! I'm sorry!"

"Go to hell, Ying Tianxi! Just because I refuse to kiss you and pop my cherry doesn't give you the right to screw with other girls!"

"Please, Yu Yan. Please. I have other needs too! Needs that… you can't provide me"

Ying Tianxi kneeled down in front of me and said those words in a slow whisper.

I looked down at him and start to feel my lips begin to tremble, I turned around and faced the door, if I say one more thing, I know tears will fall and I refuse to let happen. What he did to me is unacceptable.

I immediately yanked the door open and ran away.

I will not cry.

I will not cry.

I will not cry.

I repeated the mantra inside my head until I could feel myself running out of breath and I stopped.

I didn't realize I was already at the park near my house and I went to find the big tree where I used to hide when I was younger. A lot of people watched me curiously as I was literally sweating from running so much. At last I found the tree, found a shaded, secluded area and leaned on it, catching my breath. I threw my head back and closed my eyes as the wind calmed me, my brown hair swaying with the wind.

My first week of work certainly sucked. I made a lot of rookie mistakes at work and I was foolishly looking forward to the date Ying Tianxi set on her first weekend off. Only to find out he cheated on me.

I smiled to myself as I imagine how my conversation with my grandfather would be like, his line usually we starts with, "Hello there, my little girl, how are you doing?"

Oh, just the usual, grandpa, me and Ying Tianxi planned to have a date today, but he called quits because he said he was sick. So, I made chicken soup and went to his apartment only to see him naked with another girl.

And then his grandfather would try to act tough and would put on a show on threatening Ying Tianxi just to make me feel better although I know those are just empty words. My grandpa couldn't even stand up straight for Pete's sake.

I was so engrossed on the mental theatrics playing on my mind that I didn't realize that air was flowing directly on my legs.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with the owner of the most intense and mischievous obsidian eyes I've ever met, Su Lijie, and he's holding my skirt up.

I screamed bloody murder.
