It was the day of my coronation. I was nervous. I was wearing this long red panne and satin shimmer dress with detailed silver trim. I was in my room facing the window. There was a knock at the door. "Who's there?" I said with a firm voice. No one answered. The door opened but no one entered. I didn't take it as anything, but I turned around anyway. It was King James II standing at the doorway. He had a wooden steak in his hand. One he planned on using on me. He ran up to me and pushed me against the wall. He had the steak to my chest, covered my mouth and said "Please Sayaka, don't scream. It's the last thing that needs to happen right now. I need your help." I was confused but I nodded anyway. He let me go and took the steak away from my chest. He walked towards my bed and stood in front of it. He looked at the doorway and said, "Come here." Then a boy came out of the hallway and into the room. He walked towards King James slowly. The boy looked frail. His skin was very pale, and it was very hard for him to walk. King James looked back at me and said, "Sayaka, I want you to meet my son Jacob he's…. Um well, he's dying. His heart is weak. Is there any way you can you help him?" I looked at him. I knew he was an innocent life. He looked at me barley able to keep his eyes open. He tried his best to smile but it seemed like such a struggle for him to do. His eyes were the same color as Dante's. I was confused. I looked at James and said, "Why did you have another child? What about your other son James? Was he not good enough for you?" "I love James. I am very proud of him. I just wanted to have another kid to feel again what it was like when he was younger. To remember what it was like raising a child. James knows about his younger brother, but he doesn't know what he's been going through. I didn't tell him about it because I didn't want him to worry." He said. "Why ask me? You hate vampires. You wanted me gone that night of the ball. What happened that night anyway? What was it that made you run? Where did you go? Why did you go? What happened between you and James?" I asked. "That doesn't matter right now." He told me. I looked at the boy again. I had an idea that formed in my mind. I would turn him to my side. Make him obey my commands and make him think that I was always the one that was right. I knew that it was a bit wrong but considering what James had done to my family it was something that I needed to have done. I looked at James and said, "Okay. I'll help you but you must do something for me in return. You must leave us alone. If you see one of my kind at the market just ignore them and keep walking. No harm done to them or any of the other people that live in my Kingdome. That includes the humans or any other kind of creature living here. I don't care how much you hate or like them. Do you understand?" I could see that he was angry, but he nodded and said, "Yes. Yes. I understand. My family is important to me. I will do anything to save them. I will do this to save my son." "Good." I replied. So, I walked up to him and said pushed him to the right of me. I kneeled to the boy's level. I coated my teeth with a liquid that will allow me to control him anyway I wanted to at any time. I grabbed a small knife and cut my arm about an inch about my wrist. I put the coating of liquid from my mouth onto the cut. I put my wrist up next to the boys head and said, "Here. I need you to drink this. You'll feel better after you do." A bunch of visions went into his mind of what it was he needed to do. As soon as he was done, he knew what it was that happened and what it was that he had to do. After a couple of minutes his heart was pumping normally. He was able to breathe better without any trouble. I smiled at Jacob and whispered into his ear, "We will meet again Jacob. You are mine now."
I stood up and then looked at James and said, "Protect him and keep him safe." He just nodded. I said, "Go on James, go back home. Remember our arrangement." He just nodded. "Sayaka. Thank you. Hail to you. The Queen of the vampires. You will be a great queen." Then he and Jacob left the room. I just smiled knowing that I was one step closer in the fight for my kingdom. I then for some reason regretted what I did to the boy. I was looking out of my window and I started crying. Five minutes later Peter came into my chambers and said, "Sayaka. It is time for your coronation. Everyone is ready for you." I squeezed my hands together, took a deep breath and walked out of my chambers. Peter led the way in front of me as we walked down the corridor and through the doors to the great hall. There was still some hallway left to walk before we got to the great hall. Peter stopped at the top of the stairs as I waited behind the wall not letting anyone see me so Peter can properly introduce me. As soon as he stopped, the trumpets and flag were risen and sounded and made it known that Peter was standing there waiting for everyone's attention to him. As soon as the horns were done sounding off and everyone saw Peter he spoke, "Let the ceremony commence. Queen Sayaka is ready to be seen and heard. For all of those who are not already standing and are able to do so may now rise and be ready for the royal highness to enter." The trumpets, still being held in the air by the trumpet holders, sounded off as he walked to the left and let me walk in and be seen. I walked in and stood on the top of the stairs for a moment looking at the people smiling up at me. I then started to slowly walk down the stairs, step by step, with my hand on the railway to hold my balance going down towards my throne. As soon as I hit the bottom step the trumpets stopped playing and lowered as the flags were still being held up. As I looked around, I saw that everyone was there. I didn't know how many vampires there were until I saw them in the grand hall. I was surprised to see as many as I did because I knew that it wasn't all of them. All who were invited came but not all were vampires. There were Humans, fairies, forest creatures and many more types of creatures there to see me be crowned. The grand hall was big, so it was able to fit them all. I saw that Donovan was standing in front of the throne facing the crowd. I could see in everyone's faces that they were waiting in excitement, happy to be there. I sat down at my throne. "All who are here and present. Hear this now. I, Donovan Vampira, use my powers of high royalty to announce to you all today that my youngest granddaughter, Sayaka Maria Dracul, will become the new ruler of the whole vampire kind. I use my power to give her the tittle of Queen." Donovan said loudly. He turned to me. He grabbed a gold circlet crown with blood ruby's and diamonds around it from a table, lifted it up, stepped two feet closer to me and said loud enough for everyone to hear, "I now pronounce you queen." He then placed the crown on my head. He turned around to face the people, walked to the right of me then yelled out, "Hail the queen! Forever shall she reign?" Everyone cheered. I stood up. I then noticed that when I sat back down the throne was different. It was beautifully hand crafted. It had hearts carved all around. Silver was used to melt many different colored diamonds into it. I was smiling. I noticed as I was looking around that; accept for Donovan, my family wasn't there. That was when Donovan turned to me and said, "Your highness, I want to present you with this amulet. It was your mother's. She left it in my care when she left for a trip out of her kingdom a few days before she and your father passed. I've kept it this whole time." It was a silver triquetra symbol with a ruby in the center. As Donovan placed it on me, I stood up. I floated into the air. My dress changed into an all-black leather suit with a crimson corset and cape with all black sabaton boots. My long straight black hair changed into an all-black short curly hair. My wings got bigger. They changed into a dark purple color. When I landed back to the ground, I looked at myself and saw what I changed into. I then flew around the throne room with everyone cheering. I stopped in the middle of the room, a few feet above the crowd. I looked down at everyone with a smile. "Enjoy the food and refreshments." I shouted out. "Guards. Open the doors for me to stretch my new wings." I shouted out. The guards stationed at the doors opened them up to let me out. I flew out as soon as there was enough space to let me through. I flew out and over the castle. I came back down and then landed on top of the castle roof holding on to the flag pole. As much as everyone wanted to eat, they wanted to see what it was that I was doing. They wanted to see me fly around with my new wings. I saw them all gather in the quad looking for me. "Hello all." I shouted. They all looked up and saw where I was. I flew back down to the ground. Everyone made an opening in the middle for me to land in. I landed on the ground. "Please. Enjoy yourselves. Eat. Let your children play. The ceremony is not over yet. Dinner will be at dusk. Enjoy yourselves. Mingle with each other. Get to know everyone here. This is the best opportunity for all kingdoms to get to know more of one another while you are all here. Then, with smiles on their faces they all started to walk back towards the great all and into the dining hall to eat and mingle. Some of them went into the dance hall to start dancing. A servant came up to me and said, "Your majesty. Donovan wants to see you in the library." I entered the library. I saw Donovan standing at a round table to the right. He put his hands on the table, lowered his head then he looked up at me and said, "I think it's time to tell you who it was we were protecting you from." "Finally. It's about time you've told me. What was going on with that?" I said as I walked towards one of the chairs at the table to sit in. I sat down then said, "I started to feel cheated. Like you were saying that to start trouble with me or within my kingdom somehow. To make my thoughts go completely off track." I leaned forward on the table. "I was getting worried that you might not be telling me the truth." I leaned back in my chair. "But of course, you wouldn't do that to me. To your own family." I looked at the servant standing next to the door and said, "Servant. Bring me a bottle of wine from the small cabinet over there and a wine glass. Then close the door tightly on your way out. Make sure it's locked as well." Yes, your majesty." She brought the wine bottle and wine glass to me and put the wine glass on the table. She opened the bottle and poured some wine into the glass and set the bottle down on the table and left, locking and closing the door behind her. I put my blood pill in the wine and drank it. I poured some more wine in and took a few sips and looked at Donovan. He was still standing up looking down at me. "The person I was hiding you from is named Sam Heartsong. Do you remember Sam?" He asked. I thought about it for a minute and said, "Sam Heartsong. That name does sound familiar to me." Donovan leaned in on the table, came in closer to me and said, "Well it should. You and Sam were good friends when you were much younger. You two didn't want to leave each other's side." I was confused. I didn't understand. "If Sam and I were so close then how why does he want to hurt me?" Donovan stood straight up again. "He wants to kill you for your powers. He became power hungry one day. He somehow figured out ways to gain power from every creature at a young age. He started out small with little things like rodents. Then he started to do it on humans. Luckily it was just with prisoners. So, no one thought anything of it when they came up missing. He then went on to the innocent people and villagers of the kingdom. At first it was at a slow pace. But then he started to want more." He told me. "Well what does it have to do with me if he could do this the whole time? He didn't get my powers so why keep me from safety? Plus, he's only a human." I asked. Donovan looked at me and started to laugh, "Sam isn't a human. He's a werewolf." I was a bit surprised. "A werewolf?" I asked sarcastically. "I don't see how a werewolf can do all of that." I continued. Donovan grabbed an old book that was sitting on the table. He opened it and took out an old drawing of Sam and me. It was drawn when we were kids. It was drawn the day my family needed to leave home on vacation one summer.
I took the picture from his hands. "I remember this drawing. The artist was very good at what he was doing. It only took him about an hour and a half to draw this picture. Color and all. He was very fast." I looked back up at Donavon and said, "What does this picture have to do with anything? I see that Sam is in it, but I don't see what this has to do with anything. What does this have to do with anything you say he's been doing or trying to do with my family and me? Or why you had to disappear?" "In due time. I'll tell you but it's not a story we have time for. We must get you ready for dinner." He told me. "Dinner? It's not even dusk yet. I'm going to get dressed for dancing. I want to dance and mingle. Build a stronger bond with the people I invited. They came to see me but also to talk with me. They didn't come all this way just to see the coronation and then leave. They might as well talk with me. I'm not going to just let my guests' just wait that long to see me. It's not even noon yet." I told him. "As you wish your majesty." He replied. I got up and walked out. I went up to my room and changed. All I did was change into more comfortable shoes to dance in, ones that were much lighter on my feet.
I went back down to the great hall and walked into the dancing hall where many of the guests had gathered. There was some music playing. A few people were dancing to the music. Others were standing around and talking with each other. I saw that there were smiles on everyone's faces. I walked over to where the band was and put my hand on the conductor's shoulder. "Now we can get things really started. Play something exciting. I want everyone's feet and legs to wake up and enjoy this day with the rest of us." I told him as he was waving his hands conducting the small orchestral band in front of him. "Yes, your majesty." He said with a smile on his face.
He signaled the players to silence the music they were playing. He then glanced at a few people he had with bagpipes and pointed at them to let them know to get ready to play something. He put away the music papers he had out and got out a folder filled with some sheets of paper and put it on the pedestal in front of him. As the band was putting away their papers the conductor looked at them and said, "Get out folder two. We'll go from there for now." They all finished putting away their papers and got out the needed folder. They laid the papers out on the pedestals in front or to the side of them. As soon as the conductor saw that they were all ready, he lifted his arms up, tapped the baton in his right hand on the middle edge of his stand four times then gently waved his hands in the direction of the bagpipes first to signal for them to slowly build up in sound and start the beginning of the song. As soon as they reached the proper notes needed, they lowered their sound just right for the conductor to signal the violins to start playing, then the flutes, then cellos and so on. It was very exhilarating music, something to get up and dance to. The people loved the music and immediately started joining hands and dancing together with big smiles on their faces and laughs going all around. As I was standing there, next to the conductor, I was looking around the room trying to decide who to dance with. I was happy to see that everyone was enjoying themselves. As I was looking at everyone dancing, I felt a couple small tugs on my dress. I looked down and saw a small Elk boy who was about four feet tall to the left of me looking up at me smiling. I smiled and said, "Well hello there. What is your name young one?" "Hello, your majesty. I am Aldrich the wise counselor of the young generation of the Elk people. Would you care to dance with me? It would be a great honor." He said. "I would love to dance with you Aldrich." He put out his hand and I put my hand on his and we headed to the dance floor. We danced around for a good amount of time. We both had a good time, as did everyone else. The trumpet holders suddenly held their instruments up slowly and made the announcement sound. The announcer was seen coming out and stood at the top of the stairs. He stood at the top of the stairs waiting for the crowd to calm down and look in his direction. "Hear Ye! Hear Ye!" He said in a loud voice. "Dinner is now served. May all Lords, Ladies, Kings, Queens, Princesses, Princes and all others in between please make your way to the dining hall." He continued. At that point everyone started on their way to the dining hall. All were mingling with each other. The dinner was a great success. Peter was sitting to the right of me as a guest of honor only because he was the only one that I really trusted while Donovan sat to the left of me. The little Elk boy Aldrich sat next to Peter. His Mother, Father and older brother sat next to him. They were all so excited to sit so close to the queen. Everyone loved the food. Many had gourmet foods that were set to where they were from so, they weren't limited to what only humans or vampires could eat. Everyone had their favorite dish or a new dish that became their favorite. It was really a great sight to see. Everyone had a great time. They even stayed a few hours after dinner to talk to one another to get to know each ones' kingdom. They all wanted to know how each other ran their kingdoms so they can get tips on how to run theirs better if they needed to. Everyone got his or her chance to speak with me. Each guest gave me extra gifts. I got so many that I just told them to put it on the table of gifts that they had already given me. They were all wrapped in beautiful packaging. It made me feel special that they took so much time to wrap it so nicely and give me extra presents as well. Some of the guests told me that their gift was for good luck or for war times if I ever needed it. I couldn't wait to see what the gifts were.
I didn't get the chance to go to bed until two O'clock in the morning because I wanted to make sure everyone was able to leave okay, plus I had to get ready to go to bed. My whole body felt sore, but I felt that it was worth it because I had a really good time. It was so hard to walk up all the stairs to my room. Even though I was using the rail to hold my body weight as I walked up, it hurt to lift my legs every time I needed to make a step up.
