Akira Hideyoshi POV
------------------------------------------
I patted myself on the back, I made it through the first year of parenthood without any issues.
Today was March 16, 1991, one day before my son first birthday.
Now it's time to choose Hoshi first birthday outfit, bake a smash cake, and plan his first birthday bash!
I wanted to make it very memorable and stress-free!
**NEXT DAY**
After all the planning I did the previous day, I decided to keep it simple.
It would only be me and Youta celebrating Hoshi first birthday, I didn't want strangers to scare or bother him.
The first portion of my plan would be a well-rested baby.
I expertly coaxed Hoshi to sleep, so I could prepare for the party.
The second portion of my plan would be selecting the birthday party location.
The weather outside was perfect, it was nice and sunny.
I decided to set up the birthday party outside in our backyard.
I quickly made a phone call to a local photographer, I wanted professional photos of our family celebrating Hoshi first birthday.
I wanted the photographer to capture every moment and this would allow me and Youta to focus on our child instead of taking photos ourselves.
It was easy to choose the party theme; I remembered Hoshi energetic first word.
He was obsessive with anything related to chefs and cooking.
I remember him watching the television whenever we had something related on, he would stare and watch quietly and threw a fit if we switched the channel.
I decided on a chef theme party for the three of us. I got a little chef uniform for Hoshi and waiter uniforms for myself and Youta.
I got Youta to organize and set up the party in the backyard, while I quickly rushed to the kitchen to bake the smash cakes.
I decided not to buy the cake because I wanted to bake it myself, it felt more meaningful.
I grabbed the following ingredients:
------------------------------------------
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 premade container of white buttercream icing
------------------------------------------
I preheated the oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour the baking pans.
Using an electric mixer, I beat the granulated sugar and unsalted butter together over medium speed for 5 to 8 minutes.
I added in the eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition and stirred in the vanilla extract.
I combined the flour and baking powder in a medium-sized bowl.
Alternate adding the dry mixture and the whole milk to the batter, beginning and ending with the dry mixture.
I beat until just combined.
I poured the mixture into prepared baking pans.
I baked the two small cakes for about 35 minutes.
Once completed, I transferred the baking dishes to a wire rack to cool. Once completely cool, remove cakes from baking dishes and frost with premade white buttercream icing.
I successfully made Hoshi first smash cakes!
Once I and Youta completed our task, we decided to wake up Hoshi to celebrate his first birthday.
Hoshi Hideyoshi POV
------------------------------------------
I just woke up from my nap, and notice my parents were giddy for some odd reason.
My mom quickly changed me into a little chef uniform and I notice she was wearing a waiter uniform.
I thought I was still dreaming; I then saw the party balloons and streamers in our backyard and realized it was my birthday today.
I quickly opened my status window and notice a few things.

I was glad my parents knew me well enough to get a chef uniform for my birthday.
I had the requirement to "equip" and gain the bonus of the uniform.
I was amazed, 15% bonus experience to any cooking related skill was fantastic.
I just needed to figure out how to properly use this and maximize my gains.
I assume I wouldn't be able to use the uniform after year, once I grew too large to wear it.
I also felt very stupid, I never attempted to explore the system thoroughly.
I would just wait for the system to give me a quest.
I wonder if any of my old toys were consider tools or equipment.
I never played with any of my toys, I would just use them as weight and curl them.
Sometimes I would entertain my mother with my toys when she attempts to play with me, there a possibility I could gain some sort of bonus from them.
My mom brought me out to the backyard, I noticed party balloons and streamers everywhere.
There was a photographer as well, I assume my mother wanted professional photos.
My mom brought me to a small table with plastic cutlery and plates, it looked fairly fancy in my opinion.
My parents must have worked hard to get this all set up for me.
My mom seated me at the table and left to the kitchen.
She brought out a small birthday cake with a candle positioned at the center and placed it in front of me.
She then lit the birthday candle and began to sing happy birthday along with my father.
After they finish signing, they coaxed me to blow out the candle.
I took a deep breath and blew it out, my parents began clapping.
After they removed the candle, I grabbed it and stuffed it inside my mouth.
It was simple and I could have baked a better cake, but it's the thought that counts.
After cleaning the cake off my face, my parents presented me with my present.
They got me a chef's play kitchen; I was super-duper excited.
