Chapter 6 - Self Awareness

MC asked about Self Awareness

Shopkeeper Answered

Pavlov experimented with dogs by ringing bells before giving them foods, and when the dogs heard bells they salivated, proving that they associated bells with foods.

As human putting names to things they do the same association.

The names accumulated to the point where everything human knows is named. This is when the Worldview - a virtual world in human's mind was formed.

As human acts and interreacts with named Objects in Realworld and Worldview they start naming their actions - Verbs.

Verbs done to Objects by Subjects - the naming of self is the point where Self Awareness was formed.

The core of this is Simulation: Simulating the World in Worldview and Simulating Self's action in Worldview.

As the database of the simulation of one's actions accumulated, Self Awareness strenghtened, and as certain things were constant - you will always do this, you will never do that, the constant become the base of your identities, The Ego.

Instincts and actions that can not be assimilated to Ego, either by no awareness cause lack of actions to be named or other reasons is the Id.

Actions that have to be done by self that are forced by others but can not be completely understood and hence can not be assimilated to Ego become the Super Id.

Armed with Ego, Id and SuperId, your simulated Self in Worldview become Ready for Action. Any simulations/actions you do in the Worldview is handled either by Ego, Id or SuperId. Simulated Self is no longer a passive simulation, but an active avatar to tread the Worldview.

Thinking: simulating actions or interactions of objects in worldview.

Language: Simulating the simulations in our head to be delivered to others so that they can simulate it too. Transferring the data of simulations in our head to others.

I.Q. : How much/how far you can simulate the interactions of Objects in Worldview.

E.Q. : How much/how far you can simulate the interactions of Subjects (you and others) in Worldview.

Idiocy: Not Ready for Action. Simulated Self still in passive mode. Inactive Ego caused by lack of simulation data to activate Ego.

Psychology of the 21st Century:

Project Sullivan: Inspirated by Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller, an attempt to cure idiocy by studying which simulation data is easily assimilated to Ego in order to activate it. Known easily assimilated simulation data is story reading. Symbolised by water as it was Helen Keller's first name to be associated with Objects.
