The first shoot is going to be Ying Yue singing by the lake. The night has fallen, and lucky enough, there is a full moon!
The crew cannot believe what they're seeing right now. It's not just a full moon, the sky looks so clear today and the stars are twinkling like shards of diamonds. The whole sky is exceptionally beautiful today.
They seem to be in the right time and the right location right now, because from where they're shooting, the angle is exquisite, as if they're in a dreamy fantasy land.
Ying Yue is currently wearing a hanfu with light color scheme. She is dressed in a silk tunic tied with a light blue sash, a narrow cuffs with sakura patterns sewn on the loose fabric like a falling petals, and a narrow teal colored skirt that reach down to her ankles. Finally, her dress is completed with a pastel pink *bixi.
(*Note: bixi - a knee-length piece of fabric attached to the front of the sash)
She also wears a custom wig which is a long black straight hair that falls just above her knees. Because of the high-quality material, it looks identical to a real hair, appearing smooth and luminous under the moonlight.
For the sake of the theme, her hair is styled like an unmarried girl in ancient Chinese era. Half of her hair is tied up in a braided bun with white jade pear flower hairpin adorning it while the rest of her hair scatter loosely in the wind. Ying Yue looks adorable like a fresh elegant young maiden. In addition, her ethereal beauty makes her look like a little fairy.
The crew's face turn bright red whenever they meet her light grey eyes. However, they still try to focus on the shoot.
Ying Yue sits down by the lake and starts singing her heart out. A sweet melody echoes in the air.
...
"Cut!" The director shouted.
The crew is deported back into reality in an instant. They were truly mesmerized by Ying Yue's voice just now and her meeting with the emperor was really heart-throbbing!
"Good job. Here." Feng Mian hands out a bottle of water to Ying Yue.
"Thanks."
Then, she walks away into a deserted spot under a huge tree. Feng Mian shakes his head. This queen really likes her solitude. Perhaps she's going to sleep again. He has to make sure to wake her up.
...
Ying Yue spots a man sitting on a bench under the tree when she walks to this deserted area. She knits her eyebrows in displeasure. She doesn't mind being around people, but not during work. She needs a quiet place to calm herself.
However, looking around, there isn't any other decent spot nearby. She can't rest too far away or Feng Mian won't be able to notify her for the next shoot. In the end, she decided to just sit right next to the man.
When she sits down, she finally sees the man's face clearly. He is but an old man with white hair in a top knot hairdo and a long white beard. He dresses neatly in a white robe with black sash and golden bixi. With a straightened back, he appears refined and collected.
Ying Yue doesn't know why but she feels relaxed when their eyes meet. She even naturally lets out a genuine smile at him. The old man nods and return her smile.
"Excuse me for sitting here, Old Sir," she said gently.
"Oh it's fine, young one. Instead I hope you don't mind sitting beside an old man."
Despite his late age, the old man's voice still sounds energetic and clear as if he's only in his early forties. He looks healthy too with sharp eyes and coherent speech.
"Do you work here, Sir?"
His appearance has been bugging her because he wears such ancient clothing. Perhaps he works here as part of the actor group to entertain tourists.
The old man laughs. "Well, you can say I used to work around here."
He then looks around as he caresses his long beard. "Hmm...yes, a long time ago."
Ah, he must mean that when he was young. Too bad, he'll still make a good actor though with his appearance and aura.
'I guess he's just here to reminisce when he was young,' thought Ying Yue.
"It has changed quite a lot around here," the old man continues.
Ying Yue just nods in response. She doesn't quite know how much has changed since the old man was last here. But, she assumes that everything must have changed because nothing stays the same. Even if the building looks identical, it still not the same after all that repairs and renovation. No matter how much people want to perverse it, in the end, it will never be the same again.
The old man takes a glance at Ying Yue, then he asks, "What's your name, young one?"
"Jiang Ying Yue," she answers while still staring at the sky.
The old man chuckles before he suddenly laughs out loud. It surprises Ying Yue that she turns her head to face the old man.
"Reflection of the moon?"
Ying Yue nods with her expressionless face. In return, the old man gazes at her with an enigmatic smile.
"Such a good name and such a good luck too."
Ying Yue raises an eyebrow at his remark.
"Thank you?"
"Your welcome."
She then returns to gaze at the moon again and so does the old man.
It becomes peaceful and serene once more. However, shortly...
Drrtt... drrt....
The old man "..."
Drrtt... drrtt...
"..."
Drrtt... drrtt...
"What is that?" The old man finally asks.
"Ah sorry, it's probably just some texts," says Ying Yue as she takes out her phone and unlocks it.
"So many. Well, with your looks, young one, I supposed boys are lining up for you."
Ying Yue does not give any respond to that. She just keeps reading her chats.
"So, do you have a lover?"
Ying Yue finally lifts her head up and fixed her eyes on the old man. She raises an eyebrow when she sees that he's staring at her phone with an extremely curious gaze.
Hmm... he's a fussy one.
"No," she answers him lazily.
The old man looks up at her. "Then who's the text from?"
"Girls."
The old man "..."
"You gay?"
