As Tyrant landed everyone looked at him, the middle aged man had an ugly look on his face. He looked at Tyrant in the eyes as he gave his order. "Go and kill them, you have 10 minutes." hearing him Ray and the others tensed up and readied themselves for a battle.
Tyrant chuckled as he swept his gaze towards the others "Try if you think you can." his body started emitting a black aura as he walked forward, the middle aged man who saw that furrowed his brows even further as his body dissapeared coming in front of the Tyrant with his dagger stabbing at his head. Tyrant made another barrier to block It as he moved his short word chop the middle aged man's head off. Who in turn teleported back.
"I wonder how many times you can teleport now, that makes it 4. Come, let me send you to the others!" Tyrant spoke as he flashed with light and darkness at the same time almost matching the middle aged man's teleportation. While they were fighting, the others also fought against each other. Nate went against Lion while Yate and Lucas went to hold of an Archmage that came with them. leaving Yuki, Ria and Ray to defend against one each. Ray went towards one of the remaining peek Mage Apprentice as Ria took the other, leaving the beginner mage Apprentice to Yuki. Unlike the others Yuki was fairly weak, her true power would show once she becomes an Archmage and beyond.
Ray's opponent was someone who used the earth attribute as he mainly focused on close combat, Ray was very happy to deal with him. Ria was fighting a Wind and Thunder mage, unlike Ria however she did not have a mutation. Yuki was fighting a kid around her age, he had a Bloodpower that focused around gravity, luckily for Yuki she mainly focused on long range attacks, otherwise she would be in much more trouble than she was in now. Lucas and Yate's opponents was using sand to give them a very hard time, even though Yate was a strong water Mage Apprentice, he was not an Archmage. Nate and Lion were both evenly matched, Tyrant saw their situation but he could not do anything. If he opponent could not teleport then he would be able to kill the others, but if he did it against someone that can teleport his own students would die as well.
Ray had his upper body clad in thunder as his perception and increased by miles, with that he could fight his opponent on equal grounds, while he found many openings he did not dare to take them. He was inexperienced in real combat and was extremely careful not to fall for a bait. But in return he intentionally created an opening, leaving his right side wide open for attacks, the opponent took the bait as he swung his arm clad in earth towards Ray's side.
Ray instantly removed the thunder from his arms and put them on his legs to increase his speed, the moment he did he rushed forward and thrust his dagger at the opponents neck. The opponent was scared shitless as he saw the edge of the dagger about to pierce him, without a second though he covered his whole body in earth and wore it like an armor.
[Ding!] the dagger scratched earth armor but did not damage the wearer in the slightest.
Seeing his attack being ineffective, he instantly backed away as blocked a punch with his dagger. 'If only I had a good weapon, damn it!' Ray cursed inside his head. He looked around and the one he had the best chance of killing was Yuki's opponent who had no defensive powers, if he could surprise attack him he would be able to kill him.
While Ray was preoccupied with his opponent and the others were in a standstill, Tyrant smiled at his opponent. "You seem to be getting tired, and your pawns are not capable of doing anything to my students, I wonder who I should kill after am done with you!" They clashed again and again as Tyrant kept pushing him into teleporting, draining his mana. The opponent was no idiot, he could see that he would die a terrible dead if this keeps going.
He looked at the fighters, now that they failed to kill everyone in secret, they can not kill any of the important ones or they would be asking for a witch hunt. Even though they won't fear 1 or 2 powers, they are not stupid to challenge 6 powers and come out unscathed. The price will be too heavy.
He looked over the battle field and saw Ray pulling of his attack just to fail because of his weapons quality. He didn't know who he was but if he killed one or two of them that would be enough and if he killed that one without much of a background he could accomplish something on this mission. He looked over the battle field as he set his Eyes on Ray and Yuki.
But he could not make a move, he had to draw Tyrant away enough so that he will have time to kill them after he teleports. So he started slowly retreating to not make Tyrant raise his guard. Tyrant kept attacking him as he was slowly being distanced from the group.
Ray also had a plan of his own, he positioned himself between the kid with the gravity Bloodpower and the earth mage Apprentice as he slowly walked towards the gravity kid. Just like the middle aged man, he also slowly back towards him from a relative blindspot to not attract too much attention. His goal was to kill that kid and then kill the earth mage Apprentice together with Yuki.
He slowly backed away over the course of 5 minutes until he was only 5 meters away from the kid with gravity BP. As the earth Mage Apprentice decided to punch him, he did not dodge but instead crossed his daggers across his chest with lightning cloaking his arms and upper body. He was lynched backwards 4 meters, right after he turned and sprinted towards the gravity kid as his clad his legs in lightning.(A/N: Naturally by taking the lightning from his arms to his legs)
The middle aged man who was slowly driving Tyrant further and further away almost got an heart attack seeing Ray's action, without second thought he teleported appearing in front of the gravity user to deflect Ray's dagger that was mere centimeters away from his throat. Right after he cut deep into Ray's chest piercing his hearth.
The battlefield seemed to freeze for a second, as the middle aged man took out his dagger and planned to go for Yuki, Tyrant came in front of the gravity user as he swept his dagger, the middle aged man had to change his plan and deflected the hit. He looked and saw Ray bleeding in the ground, picked up the gravity user as he signaled to retreat.
Seeing them retreat, no one tried to stop them. They were not their and with Ray on deaths door, they would only lose more if they continued fighting. While unwilling, they had to stop fighting, Tyrant too was aware that if the Gravity user was not there, Yuki would have died as well. He looked dow and saw Ray coughing up blood.
Ray felt cold, he had died to a heart attack before, but had never had his heart pierced. The feeling of the cold dagger piercing it felt terrifying for him, the cold hard metal was a death sentence for him. 'So this is how I die? If only I could see my little sister and my parents again.' Ray's thought were drifting but before he could close his eyes forever, a lotus shaped flower bloomed from his head before turning into mana particles and entering his body, healing his wounds.
When the others saw the lotus they were surprised, but when they saw his wound closing, they were truly dumbstruck. Even those of major backgrounds were equally shocked. Only Tyrant was surprised, he knew the lotus skill and knew the cost to create on.
'For Headmaster Cailin to use one on him, he must be something special to her.' he thought before ordering the others to leave there at once. Ray too stood up as they ran back to the mana carts.
