*flashback*
"Girls slow down!" I hear my mom say, somewhere through the clutters of so many voices. My friend Amy and I ran as fast as our 12-year-old legs could. Our moms right behind us.
Today was a special day for Amy and I's kingdoms. Her wolf kingdom - and no she's not royalty. She's the betas daughter for their kingdom - and my dragon riders kingdom finally agreed a truce. We've been at war with them for years. Just last year my mom and dad signed a truce with the royal family.
Or so what dad tells me. "GIRLS !" All of sudden we hear screams from all over. Nasty smells reach my nose and Amy whispers "rogues... " we start crying and try to find our moms
"Mom!!!!! Mom!!" Amy yells. I scream in pain as a rogue comes out of nowhere and bites my shoulder. All of a sudden another wolf comes and tackles the wolf biting me. I see dragons, guards, and guard wolves come near us.
Out of nowhere, a rogue bites down on my arm, the same place where the other bite was, and I cried out in pain. I cry and take one last glance at amy and see the building beside her collapse and crush her under it.
"Amy!!!!!" I cry harder as I see my friend die. The rogue that was holding on to me was once again knocked off of me and I fall on to the ground, unable to move, or feel anything in my body, I see fire. Fire takes over so much stuff of the town. People of both kingdoms running around crazy, all trying to find a friend or family or just trying to get out of here and away from the rogues. Dragons and their riders run to me and form a circle around me.
They quickly bandage me up and I see black dots form. I see my mother crying hard. In fear for her daughter and for her kingdom. "M-mo- " and with that, I pass out.
*flash back over*
Amy... "Amy?" She looks over and instantly starts crying. "B-but how.... I thought you died in that crash... " she runs to me tackling me in a hug.
"Amy?" I look over and see my mom standing there, completely on the Verge of crying. Donte helps me up and I dust myself off. "But honey, I thought you died. How?"
"Well when the building collapsed, something or someone pushed me out the way. I was knocked on conscious but when I woke up, I was back in the castle walls. "
" I would've visited but I never found the time to. Castle was on high alert and my father trained me and trained me"
"Enough chit-chatting! " my father declared. "Apala, remember, you must supervise everyone. Go now. " I bowed. "Of course, father" with that, I had helped the supervisor show everyone around.
Finally, after showing everyone around the castle I can finally rest. Well, by rest I meant fly. "Pleassssseeeee donte, I won't ever ask again. I promise" for the past 5 minutes I've been trying to get donte to come on amethyst with me.
Him being stubborn, he keeps refusing. "I'll do anything!" He looks at me with a smirk and I instantly regret what I said. " kiss me then I'll go" k-kiss!? Was I ready for that?
I guess to get him on amethyst I'll do it. I go up to him and peck his lips. As I did, I felt electric bolts go through my body and I jumped back, shocked. "What did you do! "
He simply chuckled " I did nothing. That was the mate bond. Now, that wasn't a proper kiss." He pulled me into him kissing me on the lips. For once, I was grateful to be in my room.
I kissed back, enjoying this feeling. I pulled back, much to his dismay. " you promised me a ride sir." he growled and I simply giggled. I grabbed his hand and ran through the castle going out to the gardens to see amethyst waiting for us. I jump on her back and look down seeing donte just stand there.
"come on! Hurry up slowpoke! " he growled but jumped on her back and amethyst shot into the sky. Donte screamed like a girl and I laughed so hard. He growled at me. Soon amethyst slowed down. " so, do you like it? "
" ya, it's cool up here. What's going on down there? "I look down and see a bunch of dragons wrestling each other. " oh, that's the dragon's rest area. When they're not called by their masters they go there. "
" even amethyst? " I shake my head. " she's a royal dragon. She has no time for that. She protects me 24/7 and has to keep track of her dragon kind." he nods and we go by the gate. "open the gates." a guard flys up to us. "but Princess, we have strict rules by the king for no one to leave without the Kings orders. "
Of course he gave orders. At the minute there are a few rogues spotted outside the gate trying to get in somehow so my father is more strict. "I don't care. Open the gates now. I should be back within two hours. Do not dare tell my father." they nod and the gates open and I fly through with it closing.
Donte looks back "it's like the gate isn't even there. " I nod "it's a protected gate. Only a few have permission to come in. Those who don't, are put to death for trespassing. My kingdom is a strong one. We're known for its strength and we have to keep it that way.
If we don't....everything will collapse and I could lose my kingdom. Anyways, I have something I want to show you. Me and amethyst used to go down here when we were little and she couldn't transform yet. "
We fly down to a clearing that has a river. I jump off her back and breathe in the sweet smell of the flowers and hear the birds chirping." this place is so beautiful " I say.
" I know it is cause I'm looking right at it" I look at him and see him looking straight at me. I blush really hard and look away. Amethyst flies into the sky to patrol and I feel Donte put his hands underneath my chin. "don't hide your blush. It's beautiful. " I blush harder, if that's even possible.
We both slowly lean in and kiss each other. I could feel the electricity shoot through my body and it feels like it's on fire. What turns into a small kiss turns into a heated passionate makeout.
I hear a loud rawr and I instantly pull back. "what's wrong?" donte asked me. "it's amethyst. Somethings wrong." I instantly link my body to amethyst and see what's wrong.
Down below I see amethyst and a few other dragons fighting off shadows. Shadows are the underworld assassins. They're after to kill our kind.
I returned back to my body and growled loudly. " I'm gonna kill them!" I could feel anger pulsing through my body. They dare attack my dragons.
"donte, I know you'll disagree but please. Go back to the Kingdom. It's the only thing I ask of you. This is my battle " he growls at this" I am not leaving you "
" mate or not, as a guest of MY kingdom I order you to go back to the castle with one of the dragons and wait for me to return. I have to protect my guest!"
I absolutely hated using my princess's voice on him, but he needs to know that he's not gonna be the only dominant person in this relationship.
He jumped onto a dragon while I jumped onto another. I flew into the sky going the opposite way of Dante. I grew more anxious as we neared the fighting area. I jumped off the dragons back landing on the shadows head. Smashing his face. "go back home you dirty little cookie"
