Chapter 94 - A sense of familiarity

Eer, meet the female lead? Was that even possible? Manager Zhao rolled the pen in his hand.

"It's not that I don't want you to meet the female lead, but she is Lin Lihua."

"What's wrong with Lin Lihua?" she frowned.

Manager Zhao looked at her in disbelief. She did not understand? Who in this nation did not know what type of person Lin Lihua was?

She was the most popular actress in the country and with the strong support of her family behind her, she was quite arrogant. Qing Tai Media felt lucky to have her. Not only was she very talented, she was blessed with a beautiful face and attractive body. Meeting such a person was like trying to retrieve a lost pin from the ocean.

Of course Wan Jia understood this. She was just going to try her luck. If Lin Lihua did not agree to meet her, then she would do with photos. To make a perfect costume, one had to understand the person they were designing it for. How could she just blindly come up with anything?

"Manager Zhao, just pass me her personal contact number. I'll deal with the rest." She said.

"For confidentiality purposes, I'm afraid I can't. How about I call her myself and tell her you want to speak to her? The effect will be the same. Besides, she may not answer calls from an unknown number."

He made sense. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Manager Zhao."

He told her that it was no trouble before dialling a string of digits on his phone. The call was recieved after a few rings and a sweet voice came through. "Manager Zhao, do you need me for anything?" The girl on the phone was as arrogant as ever, not even bothering with greetings.

"That...Lihua, there's someone who would like to meet you. Wan Jia, a new trainee in our..."

"Aaaaah!" a shriek sounded on the other end before he could finish his statement. Had he offended that great grandaunt? Today, he would die of an unjust cause.

"Wait wait wait, Manager Zhao, are you bluffing? Did you say Designer Wan wants to see me? Goddess Wanwan?" the girl had turned into an excited fangirl.

The poor manager was confused. Was she so angry that she was screaming? "Yes, she's here in my office."

The other side went silent for a while before the girl returned to her usual composed state. "Tell her that I'm willing to meet her. I'll send my location over after this call. However, I have a condition."

"What's your condition?" he said between gritted teeth. That was the hard part.

"She has to create a super cute outfit for me." she said. Manager Zhao could practically imagine how she gazed at her perfectly polished nails with her legs crossed at the knee while making that request.

"That...please give me a minute to ask her." he said and held the mouthpiece to ask Wan Jia for her opinion.

"That's a piece of cake." said Wan Jia, earning another round of shrieks followed by her assistant being ordered to go over and pick her up.

Before the call was hung up, the two of them heard the girl shriek to her friends on the other end. "I told you I'd get the perfect dress, didn't I? Guess who's designing my birthday dress? This will be the best birthday ever?"

Wan Jia felt it was strange, but that girl sounded familiar, like she had heard her voice before; not in the movies she acted but in real life.

Her way of handling things also gave her a weird sense of familiarity.

The manager, on the other hand, was dumbfounded. Just what power did this Wan Jia possess to make that arrogant girl so excited? Had he underestimated this little girl?

...

Two hours later, in a high end apartment at the west side of the city.

Wan Jia was welcomed by a very beautiful girl in homey clothes and bare feet. She looked very gorgeous. Even she, as a woman, could not doubt this point.

As soon as Wan Jia arrived, she shooed all her friends away and poured her a glass of orange juice.

Wan Jia laughed and looked at the lady beside her. "Could it be that Miss Lin is very good at making guesses? How did you know I like orange juice?"

"Obviously, I guessed." Lin Lihua pretended to think and said. "Let me guess, you also really like candy and shrimp."

Wan Jia's eyes flew wide open. "How did you know?"

The girl suddenly threw herself onto Wan Jia for a hug as she cried. "So it's really you."

"Miss Lin? What are you talking about?" she was dumbfounded.

"Stop it, silly. You're He Wan Jia, aren't you?" she asked as she rubbed her eyes.

"Yes...I am. But I don't remember ever meeting you."

"That's because you never did." she said.

"Then how do you know me, and even know so much about me? Also, why do I find you familiar?"

Lin Lihua shut her mouth, noticing that she had spoken too much.

"Let's talk about why you wanted to meet me." she changed the topic.

Wan Jia knew she was intentionally avoiding her question but did not expose her. "I just wanted to know the muse of my design by heart. It's just much easier work if I know your character and temperament. That way I'll know which color and material suit you best. " she explained.
