Chapter 1 - The Beginning - Chapter One

7:34pm, November 25th of the year 2210 was when it started, the first summoning. No one knew how or why it started, there was no safety to be found, everyone across the world could be selected regardless of who they were, what they were.

Thousands of people were selected and abducted, simultaneously they fell into comas, the lucky ones were at home or behind desks at work, all slouching and falling over as their minds were whisked away. The unlucky ones were the people driving vehicles or climbing mountains, they fell unconscious permanently, no bodies for them to return to. Mangled remains dotted roads and cities as chaos ensued, those unluckiest had been caught in the crossfire with no way to stop rogue vehicles as they were mowed down, powerless to save themselves.

The most iconic member of the first summoning was Doctor Craig Neville, a world-renowned heart surgeon. He fell into a coma as he was performing a complicated heart transplant on the leader of the Reunited Nations, President Leeroy Stuart. The Reunited nations was a grouping of some of the most powerful countries that had existed before the War of Tears, the entire world had changed since then, to a horrifying degree.

Doctor Craig Neville never returned to his body, regardless he was convicted of treason without defence, his body was buried alive beneath the former leaders so that if he ever awoke, he would suffocate in the remains of the Great Leader he killed.

None of the recorded who entered the coma ever regained consciousness, many questioned such rumours believing this to be a world wide attack by terrorist organisations whilst political and media outlets yearned for those who might have awoken to step forward and reveal themselves.

Everyone wanted to understand what was happening, but no one had any answers, only speculation.

One such person was Kale Moore, a citizen of the Free World Nations, a grouping of Countries that had survived the splitting after the devastation of the War of Tears, with him being stranded in a now foreign country. Racial barriers had been torn down and built anew after the war, with many countries finding themselves settling in different places across the Earth.

Even now scientists and researchers could not decide on the trigger that caused such a cataclysmic change in the Earth's crusts, no one was believed to possess weapons of such ferocity, it was as if a greater power was playing with the Earth, preparing and reshuffling the board.

The fact that the majority of the human race, grossly overpopulated as they were, had survived was a miracle in itself. Even as the seas had raged and howling storms battered at moving continents they survived and pushed through, It was a miracle with very dubious origins.

It was a day that no one would ever forget and that had installed the fear of God in many.

Unknown to any was the time of 9.34pm on November 25th when the only survivor of the first summoning Kale Moore returned, shaking and sweating he vomited on his bathroom floor where he lay.

With white hands he reached forward and checked the time on his phone, only 2 hours had passed but that slaughter was still present in his mind.

He had to prepare or perish like the others, painfully.
