That fateful day It started with that day. She remembered it well. It was pouring and she was beyond drenched. The heels broke and her extremely unaffordable bag began to contain seep water. Her new demonic CEO took office and she just had to be the secretary. "Mommy is back!" "Another divorce Mom?" "Y-y-yes, we are just not meant to be" "That's what you said the last 4 times" "We are in your apartment and please get a tin of milk for your baby brother." "Why are you in my place? Wait What baby brother?" Phone went dead. She finally reached the entrance of her office building and lol and behold. Her ex-lover had his arms around her CEO. Sayuri looked up in the dark clouds. Night would fall soon. A lightning flashed. "Just strike me!" As if the heavens heard her plea. A thunder roared and lightning blazed. Sayuri received a neat strike and was out cold immediately. The medic came. Her final words before losing all sense of consciousness. Truly defeated.

Chapter 1 - Home, Here I Come

"This is it!"

"Grandma I am coming home!"

This was the final words of Sayuri Lo just before darkness enveloped her entire being.

Little Lily or Sayuri in Japanese. Papa and Mama Lo wanted to name their baby girl the symbol of love in their dating years. How ironic. In a divorce, this same reminder served as a irritating thorn in messy flesh. To add to the mix, Sayuri was certainly nothing like her name. For one, she was festy. The moment the divorce settlement was done, she was done with her parents. Some family were meant to love far far...far away.

In her words, 'Love but stay away...'

She could do less nagging and most welcome peace. The quarrels and squabbles drained her life force away. Instead of Mama Lo, Aunt May was a warm sunshine. Aunt May and Papa Lo were siblings. She served as a emergency shelter whenever the couple fought and gave her much needed balance in her life.

She needed more than just balance for that nonsensical day. It seemed to take a leaf out of a Comedy Movie. Sayuri laughed silently unbelievably tragedic - should it be seen on a wide Flat Screen.

She should have listened when God gave her a hint in that morning. A pigeon landed a nice warm poop on her forehead.

The Day

8.49am

The sun shone brightly that wonderful morning. CEO turned up and within 30 minutes, it was clear that she was a boss that crawled out of Hades. Or perhaps, she owned Hell. She clicked her sharp heels into her workplace. Molly was pure evil and beautiful.

Work Day 1.

Her first words to her.

"Setup my work appointments and I expect you to remember each and every name of all qualified people in the hotel industry. Remember names of wives, mistress, children and intimate details - including,"

Molly stopped midway and gave her the murder-icy smile

"Details from their favourite coffee to their bra sizes."

"Organise the department meetings on Mondays. Make sure they give crisp information within first 10 minutes of meeting. I want quality productive work."

9.10am

Wild and madness. All meetings expected end within 30mins. The ones which dealt with creativity cried tears.

Sayuri: I wanna cry too. Is it too late to find a man to marry?

Lunch 1.00pm

Sayuri was dying. This was Day 1 and her phone was certainly not stopping. Appointments, schedule, white lies, black lies you-name-it...

"Aaaahhhhhh! My poor feet!" She kicked the heels and enjoyed a nice warm cup of ramen in the stairwell. This was her happy place without any nuisance. Peace at last.

Sometime in blurry late afternoon

She should have heeled warning bells when hint #2 came. It poured suddenly.

Sayuri had bags and bags of various samples.

Sayuri: At least the samples are dry. Molly Monster would have skinned me

The rain went from pouring to insane. It patted onto her body. Heels gave way. Hair stuck to her neck. The contact lens decided to dissolve into the rain and conveniently disappeared. She barely heaved her limping corpse back to the hotel. She looked up "Hotel Rov" in shiny gold letters. In shock, he was there.

Sayuri: No need for hints. I get it

Author-sama: I get it too

He was incredibly handsome. Years had been kind to him. No longer the skinny and bespectacled youth. This was upgraded version million times over. Cobe was tanned, muscular and ... delicious. He was outside the staff entrance. Sayuri fossilized.

Sayuri: Why is he here? Why? Erm for me?

It was impossible to look coy at her current state. Pathetic - definitely.

Molly came out of a lift and he placed his arms lovingly around her. Sayuri went from fossil to ice-age. In Summer weather, she felt icy winds blew. In their College years, Cobe and Sayuri were the golden couple. He was a geek and she was his beauty with brains. 3 years ago,the breakup was messy and they stopped all contact. Whenever a lady bumped into the ex, she dreamed of being the best shape. This, however, was a nightmare. The lady looked worst than a tramp and the man was smoking hot.

Monster and a Cobra

Great!

Water was pouring continuously. She was ghastly. Her limping tired legs and dangling heels. In cruek contrast, the couple looked beautiful. Rational, she tried to side step to avoid the couple. Both saw her and Cobe stopped in the tracks.

Cobe stared and stopped in his tracks,"Ri?"

Molly: Alarm Bells

Sayuri: I am doomed

Molly slanted her eyes and tightened her grip in his arms. He can only give a knowing nod and guide Molly to the car. Why, of course it had to be the latest a German sports model.

The car made it way out. At this moment, her unaffordable bag slumped onto the floor - the strap broke. She was too exhausted to even laugh. Water had turned her bag into a tiny swimming pool. She looked up and made a face to heavens.

Sayuri: Thanks ya!
