With each day that was passing, Vixen felt more and more excited. She could hardly wait to be able to call Lowks her husband. For a very long time she had always desired the title of his wife, so she was rather excited at the idea of finally getting exactly what she had always wanted.
And her fiancé was being incredibly attentive to her. Lowks may not have been spending every waking hour with her, but he still was spending as much time as he could with her. And the way he acted towards her had sweetened up considerably. Or at least he had lost a lot of the sternness towards her. She wasn't sure though if that was because they were engaged or just because she was behaving. Probably a bit of both, he was a little sweeter than he had been even before she had accidentally hurt him.
She felt rather guilty about that. She had never meant to actually hurt him, just wanted him to notice her. Knowing that she had actually made it harder on the both of them made her feel incredibly silly. But…
At least they were going to be getting married. Just the thought thrilled her. And though she could hardly wait for that day, the way things were right now was rather good too. She rather liked seeing her Lowks sweeter side.
She was missing him at the moment. But she knew he was up at the castle visiting Master Kuryzan. Vixen did not really know the Queen's Ward all that well, but her two best friends were rather close to him. She had met him before, though she was not entirely sure what to make of him. He seemed shy, but… well, she really did not know how to handle the way he had looked at her. He almost always seemed to be laughing at her on the inside… and had actually laughed aloud when she had tried to flirt with him.
But he was good friends with both Lowks and Tira so he couldn't be that bad. She let out a sigh, wondering when Lowks would be done with his visiting. She really wanted to see him.
When she heard a knock on her bedroom door, she perked up. Her mom would never knock, so it was probably Lowks. She sprung up and threw her door open, inviting her beloved in. As he came in, he pulled her hand and she found herself in his arms as he greeted her with a kiss.
She melted into his embrace, as all traces of loneliness evaporated from her heart. He pulled back with that boyish grin that seemed to becoming a common expression for him. "How's your day been so far, sweetheart?"
She looked down, but smiled, "I missed you…so I was feeling a bit lonely I guess."
"Well, I'm all yours for the rest of the day. So whatcha wanna do?"
"Anything goes?" She tilted her head and widened her eyes, trying to look innocent.
He laughed and tussled up her hair, "I'll listen to whatever you want to do, but no promises that I'll do whatever."
She let out a huff, but he just ignored it as he waited on her to decide on what it was she actually wanted to do. She really did not have much in mind, just wanted to be with him, "Lowks… can we cuddle? I just want to be beside of you…"
"Sure. That does sound rather nice." He let her lead him to sit on her bed as she snuggled up against him.
For a moment Vixen was silent, just enjoying her soon to be husband's presence, then she looked up at him. He was looking at her as well. Vixen wondered what he was thinking as he looked at her in his arms. His fingers were rubbing up and down on her arm.
"Lowks?" After a few moments of staring at his face, Vixen broke the comfortable silence. She continued with his full attention. "I really can't wait till we're married."
"Oh?" Her fiancé looked rather happy as his hold tightened, "I'm glad my fiancée wishes to marry me. But this is rather nice isn't it?"
"Hmm…" She looked at his smiling face, and wanted to tease him. "But with just being engaged you would hardly let me push you down, so I can't wait to be married because –"
It took him just a bit of time to react but he stopped her from finishing her sentence. His hand over her mouth as he became a blushing mess made her want to giggle. For being thirty-five Lowks was surprisingly innocent when it came to matters like these. She removed his hand, and leaned up to kiss him, entwining her fingers with his. Pulling back, she grinned at him, "Aw, sweetie, I was halfway teasing. I want to marry you for other reasons as well."
"Vixen…" He sighed, "You're…." He trailed off, but let out a small laugh at her. "Sometimes I have no idea how to take you."
"Really? What do you mean?"
"What goes on in your mind?" He was looking a bit more serious now, as he regarded her thoughtfully, "I find myself wanting to understand the way you think, but sometimes, well, I have no idea…"
She looked away from his, and snuggled deeper into him. She sighed contentedly, and then tried answering him, "You want to know my way of thinking? Fine. I hate being treated like a child. I want you to look at me. Only me. I love it when you make me feel special, when you ruffle my hair or hug me. I especially like it when you kiss me. And I feel lonely when you aren't around." She paused and then admitted, "And I fantasize about you all the time. I want you." She tilted her head back and looked at her fiancé. "But I'll wait till we are actually married 'cause I know that its important to you. Besides your mom will kill me if I corrupt you."
The last part got him laughing, then he looked away from her and mumbled, "It is important to me to treat you properly, Vix, but don't think I'm entirely innocent either. I…. well, let's just leave it at that."
Vixen smiled as she looked at his flushed cheeks. Of course she knew he had some desire for her, after all he was marrying her.
