Chapter 1 - Prologue

Many years ago, a great Comet was due to impact Earth. In a wondrous event, it broke apart before collision.

It seemed like a miracle.

But, all was not at peace as the chunks from the Comet crashed into the land. Earth was spared a destructive fate, but humanity as a whole was changed forever.

Years of wildfires and destruction were suffered while wildlife took a shift in evolution.

After humanity felt they had rebuilt what they had lost, animals began to evolve rapidly. They grew to despise humans and banded together in murderous groups.

Humans felt this was the last hour, as animals turned into monsters. People were being murdered left and right, it felt as if no place were safe anymore.

Eventually, people found out that the large chunks from the Comet that fell years ago were toxic to the new found monsters. Fleeing for their lives, humans began migrating to these "Sanctuary Isles".

Many were just sectioned off areas of land. Miles wide with cities and villages peppered about.

Some Sanctuary Isles were only used for farming. Brave couriers and adventurers delivering the goods and foodstuffs between nearby towns and villages.

For years, life was calm. The mass deaths of humans dwindled and monsters became more predictable. Easy to avoid and manage.

Only a few centuries before the modern time, humans saw the coming of Animal Royalty.

It seemed the radioactivity coming for the Comet had effected certain animals in a different way. Some had evolved to a more human like way with characteristics of the animals they originated from.

They kept to themselves but recently, the Ocean King had intended to set up a trade agreement between the Sanctuary Isle of Happote and the Sea.

That was 500 years ago…
