Chapter 6 - Episode 6 - Fight, Flight, and Fright

Tanya: I don't know how long I was standing on the street, but I heard someone call my name and two familiar figures are starting to approach me.

--o--

Pam: Hey, babe! Were you mugged? You look horrible.

Lexie: What happened, Tans? You look so shaken. Are you okay?

Tanya: I need to go home.

Pam: C'mon, let's head back to Casa Pam.

Tanya: No, I mean home, home. San Diego home.

Lexie: What? Why?

Tanya: I'm pregnant.

--o--

Tanya: We went back to Pam's apartment which I thought I'd soon also call home. The place where I thought I'd start my new beginnings — a symbol of new hope and life.

I was in the middle of packing my clothes when Lexie suddenly grabbed my arm and stopped me.

--o--

Tanya: Hey!

Lexie: Don't do this, Tanya. Don't go back home.

Tanya: Didn't you hear the part where I said I am with child?

Lexie: So? Is there a law that says no childbirth in New York?

Tanya: Lex, listen. I have to tell Tim. He's the father. He deserves to know.

Lexie: And he is also a cheater, whose ass you should've literally kicked.

Tanya: You know, for someone who did nothing but gapped like a goldfish when your fiancé cheated on you, you sure do have a lot of opinions now.

Lexie: Hey, that was different!

Tanya: How was that different? We both saw them on bed with other women. Tell me how is that different?

Lexie: Look, Tans, I'm just trying to help you. Having that baby won't erase the fact that Tim cheated on you!

Tanya: What do you know? You're not married, you never had a relationship long enough to know! People can change, Lexie. If you've been with a person long enough, you would know! But wouldn't cause you never did!

Lexie: Take that back!

Pam: Alright! That's enough you two!

--o--

Tanya: I apologized to Pam before leaving, while Lexie stayed inside her room. I wanted to also say sorry to her but knowing her, I know she would not make it easy for me. And time is a luxury that I do not have at the moment.

I took a cab to JFK and hopped on the next available flight to San Diego. The cost of the ticket is more than what I'm willing to spend, but this is an emergency. I need to get there as soon as possible. Despite what Lexie said, and I do get her point, I need to tell Tim as soon as possible. We've been together for so long. I'm sure we can sort this out.

I was trying to imagine my reunion with my husband, but I just can't shake the sinking feeling that I left my best friend in New York without saying sorry. I know she's just trying to protect me from getting hurt.

God, I felt awful. I can't remember the last time Lexie and I fought this bad. Was it in high school? Yeah! High school senior year. I was student council president and she was the chairwoman for social events. We were supposed to plan the freshmen welcome party together, but I ended up doing all the work because she was too busy canoodling with that exchange student from Spain. That party was so terrible and probably belongs to St. Magdalene's worst party ever, if such list existed. Lexie and I didn't talk to each other for about a month after that, but I was forced by circumstances to talk to her because Tim asked me if we can finally do it since we've been dating for a year.

My god, Tim. What are we going to do? We're going to be parents.

When the plane finally landed, I immediately took a cab to get to the cul de sac Tim and I have been renting since we got married. I don't know why but instead of using my keys, I knock on the door. But oh, boy, the person I least expect to be there answered the door.

--o--

Tanya: What the fuck are you doing here?

Katy: Oh. Hi, Tanya. I wasn't expecting you.

Tanya: Why the fuck are you here?

Katy: Please, just come inside.

Tanya: ANSWER ME!

Katy: I'm not sure how to tell you this, but Tim asked me to move in with him.

--o--

Tanya: Move in with him? In our home? I don't know what happened. My vision turned black and I felt all my blood rushed to my face. Next thing I know I was on top of Katy. I must've tackled her and punched her cause her lower lip has split. And oh, god! There's blood. Like a lot of it. Is there supposed to be this much blood?

I started realizing what I was doing and suddenly remember that I am pregnant but before I could look where the blood was coming from, I was suddenly pulled up violently by someone.

--o--

Tim: THE FUCK, TANYA! What do you think you're doing?

Tanya: WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING? WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? Really, Tim? In our own house? I'm not even gone for a month, you fucking bastard!

Tim: Look at what you've done?

--o--

Tanya: My eyes suddenly shifted to where all the blood is coming from. And I suddenly felt cold; like a bucket of ice bathe my entire body. Katy is bleeding from between her legs. She is still on the floor, crying and writhing in pain. Then she stopped moving. What the fuck? Did I just murder and killed someone?

--o--

Tim: Fuck it, Tanya! I know I did you wrong. I cheated on you but my god! If anything happens to my baby, I swear to god...

--o--

Tanya: I didn't hear the rest of what Tim was saying. My mind was fixated on the information he just said. Katy, his mistress, Katy, is also pregnant. With Tim. My husband, Tim.

--o--

Tim: Look, I'm taking Katy to the hospital. Let's talk when I get back.

Tanya: No need, Tim. I'm just here to tell you that I'm filing for divorce.
