Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 As the Steward of the Ranpelrouge Family

"At last, I've cleared the game..."

Ren Suo looked at the high score of 85 before him, contentedly put down the game controller, and admired his achievement.

"Completion of the basic mission target—60 points;"

"Killing a moderate number of enemies—5 points;"

"Rescuing a moderate number of innocents—5 points;"

"Completing special side tasks—15 points;"

"Total score is 85 points, rated as extraordinary."

"This mission score: 85 points (extraordinary), Highest mission score: 85 points (extraordinary)"

"Do you choose to upload this result as the final outcome? Upon successful upload, you can receive Merit Points that correspond to your evaluation level."

"Once the evaluation is uploaded, this chapter will be completely closed."

Unable to think of other ways to further optimize his gameplay, Ren Suo chose to upload the result, as he had no intention of playing this chapter again anyway.

"Is it this late already?" Ren Suo checked his phone and found it was already 23:29. Although he had discovered how to complete the side tasks, protecting Euphy Lampeluji and Karen Lanpelucci perfectly was no easy feat, not to mention he also had to try his best to protect the guests outside. It took Ren Suo several retries to achieve an ending he was satisfied with.

"Mission evaluation upload complete, you have earned 15 Merit Points, please use them wisely."

"You have received One-Star Treasure Box*1, you can open it in the Content Preservation Vault."

"As this is a free chapter, you cannot obtain exclusive rewards."

"'Assassin' chapter 'Bloody Banquet' is now closed. Thanks for playing, and enjoy Endless Fun in the Mini World!"

Ren Suo turned off the television. As he relaxed his mind, which had been immersed in the game all day, he immediately felt an intense wave of sleepiness. Shaking his head, Ren Suo yawned, went to shower and brush his teeth, and half an hour later when his head touched the pillow, it was as if Golden wind and dew had met—he fell into a deep slumber so sound that even pain in his posterior couldn't awaken him.

...

A few hours later, in the British foggy city, a fine drizzle, as expected, began to set in.

This city, which had been a world center since the 18th century, still possesses an awe-inspiring heritage despite having gracefully passed on the reins of power to its successors.

In the misty rain and under the dim streetlights, travelers walking through this city seemed able to sense the pride of The Empire on which the Sun Never Sets that had been left behind.

With the arrival of one sedan after another, the Black Thorn Building standing tall in the rain welcomed its myriad of distinguished guests.

Most of these guests were either traditional aristocrats that existed even before the Glorious Revolution or newly rising families that had gained fame within the last century. It was a dinner party of the upper class—they enjoyed making beneficial exchanges in the guise of casual conversation.

Just 300 meters away from the Black Thorn Building, a BMW 750Li was parked at the roadside. Anger, having no other choice, slapped the steering wheel and asked, "Kalen, where did you put the umbrella... ah, forgotten again."

The driver, Kalen, was sick yesterday, and these past two days Anger had to drive himself. The last time he drove was when he was getting his driver's license—he had no interest in driving whatsoever.

Though Anger knew how to drive, he didn't pay much attention to the fuel gauge, and now he was stranded at the side of the road with an empty tank.

Fortunately, Black Thorn Building wasn't far away, and Anger could walk there directly, but then the next problem arose—there was no umbrella in the car. Kalen was responsible for the umbrella, and Anger didn't know where he had put it.

Anger sighed, first notifying the insurance company to come and tow the car, and then he got out of the car and walked towards the building looming in the misty rain not far away.

"It's okay, the rain is light, it won't affect me much..." Anger comforted himself, when a car sped past, its powerful wheels rolled over the accumulated water on the ground, splashing onto Anger's clean suit.

"Oh God!" Anger cursed under his breath, watching the car quickly drive away without any intention of stopping, "Don't let me see you again, or I'll stuff your face into Uncle Tom's pie!"

Anger hastened his pace towards Black Thorn Building, he really did not want to endure a second baptism like that on the street—dammit, it couldn't possibly get any worse today, could it?

Just then, a handsome young man with an Asian face and a small red teardrop mark on his brow approached Anger, "Are you Mr. Anger Ricall? I am a steward of the Ranpelrouge Family, your clothes seem dirty, please come with me to change into a clean set."

The handsome young man took a step forward, covering Anger's head with his black umbrella, and Anger, no longer receiving the rain on his face, sighed in relief, "I appreciate it... How did you know I am Anger Ricall?"

The handsome young man smiled slightly, "As a steward of the Ranpelrouge Family, I naturally have to memorize the guests' information. I will escort you to Black Thorn Building, please follow me."

The bad luck seemed to end there, and Anger breathed a sigh of relief, following the handsome young man as they turned onto a small path.

Why not take the main road? Anger felt a bit puzzled and asked, "This doesn't seem to be the way to Black Thorn Building..."

"Is that so?"

With a laugh, Anger felt a pain at the back of his head and immediately lost consciousness.

A few minutes later, the handsome young man walked towards Black Thorn Building with his head held high and his chest puffed out under the umbrella.

"Sir, please show your invitation," the waiter politely stopped him, glanced at him, and asked, "Are you Lord Absi Rical?"

"No, I am the nephew of Absi Rical," the handsome young man replied politely, "My uncle had a sudden matter to attend to, and he entrusted me to attend the Ranpelrouge banquet on his behalf."

"Very well, please follow me."

The handsome young man took the elevator to the ninth floor banquet hall, and the moment he stepped in, his whole person seemed to flicker.

Without any hesitation, he strode towards a corner of the banquet, and in the process, he accidentally bumped into a girl's arm, causing the amber liquid in her glass to spill onto the brown suit of the man beside her.

Then the handsome young man quickly blended into the crowd, and while the man in the brown suit was cleaning his clothes, the young man, holding a wine cup, passed by him, and when he left, his left hand was already holding a pistol with a silencer attached.

He walked towards the inner hall corridor, provided his identity, and passed smoothly through the inquiries of the middle-aged steward and men in black—they had not seen Anger Ricall before, and although they were somewhat surprised that Anger bore the appearance of someone from Mysterious Country, they did not hinder him.

After entering the inner hall, the handsome young man assembled the pistol, switched off the safety, and smiled as he walked towards Karen Lanpelucci and Euphy Lampeluji surrounded by people.

The carpet in the inner hall perfectly concealed the sound of his leather shoes, and the finger on the trigger exerted a slight pressure, his face bearing a smile that made people unconsciously feel fond of him. When the brilliantly dressed Euphy noticed this handsome Asian man, they were already just a meter apart.

"Hello," Euphy extended her hand in greeting, "Are you from Flourishing Sakura Country?"

"No, I am from Mysterious Country," the handsome young man tilted his head slightly, smiling, "Miss Euphy…"

"There's something I'm not sure I should say..."
