Chapter 2 - Chapter  2 : Disappearance

Oct 2nd, 2015

The sky was clear and the weather was perfect to setup the sail. The most renowned cruise liner, Emerald princess departed from South Hampton earlier in the morning. It was steadily progressing towards its first way point, Stavanger.

The deck was almost clear except for a person standing on the edge with emptiness filled around. Any trespasser would err him to be enjoying the cool arctic breeze flowing over the sea. But he seemed different from the ones who would be enjoying the breeze, an expression of terror was in his face which bore a tint of smile that was fading with every passing moment. He was alone while all other passengers were heading back to their cabins after an exotic marine cuisine dinner, for a good night sleep.

The cruise was drifting on the waves without losing its path. Even the continuous tidal action couldn't budge him. He was standing as rock on the deck. The person was yelling something looking towards the sea. If someone was watching they would think he was just acting as a hippie who think they have conquered the world.

Let's get back, he stood his position for long enough that he could catch cold even wearing the warmest clothes one could have. Coldness might have made his muscles make a move. He neared the railing and stood there.

He looked down towards the bottom. He could only see the waves getting sliced by the hull. Don't know what got into him, within moments after he took a look, he climbed the rail & paused for a brief moment. As though he was waiting for someone to come along.

Swiftly he made the move and jumped into the icy currents of Baltic. The deck was deserted and his actions went unnoticed. Even if someone would have it would take hours to find the person in these waters. With the waves in action, it will only make the situations trickier. At times, impossible.

The breeze blew with the same intensity not that it mattered any way. The nature has witnessed the whole from beginning to end but there wouldn't be a chance for it to interfere with the proceedings.

Ripples formed on the surface of water as though a pebble was thrown in still water but there was neither a sign of the person nor air bubbles only the waves getting sliced. The cruise ship continued its routine as nothing happened. The chances of this ever being get noticed are very sleek even when the journey ends and the reason, well there is none who noticed all this happening.

The person had some luck left on his side maybe. On a normal day death would have been inevitable but at the moment something different took place.

In exhaustion he gasped for air, being underneath the water made him swallow it, the wicked salty water of Baltic. Just for an instance, this wicked water has saved his life instead of taking one and the story shifts in a whole different manner than you may think. He slipped into unconscious state before getting onto the surface by buoyancy force which generally acts when we stop the struggle and floated on the water surface just like a corpse. The difference being the life force which doesn't exist in… I think there is no need to give any further explanation.

It may sound weird but there is always a probability for the most bizarre thing happening which we never expect to happen but it might be the only possibility for the time being. The only point is the odds are very low but these are enough to become a reality.

Ever imagined being on the verge of death and being back to normal the very next day or enjoying the last days only to know later that it was just a test you had to pass to be yourself for the rest.

The journey of the cruiser goes on so does the journey of the mysterious man whom we are yet to know completely. Is there any significance? Let the further events take the charge.
