Today is the first day I will learn magic at magic academy.
Yesterday I spent my time on quest. I choose the quest of subjugating the goblins. The guild treated goblins as F rank monster and I was already killed five of them.
So I entered the forest and hunted any goblin I encountered. The result was the blood of 15 goblins that I had slayed. The receptionist of guild told me I can upgrade my rank if I take two more quest. Yes, finally.
But now let me speak about my first day coming back to school.
I wore my new robe in dark grey colour. It fit perfectly on my body. I took my scepter and went down to inn to eat breakfast. After that, I exited the inn and calmly walked to academy.
Regarding about magician robe, you can wear any type of cloak and colour. Magician's status was not differentiate by their robe or scepter, but a crest on their robe.
Crest is a symbol that be given by magician society, group of high rank magician that oversee magic academy and magic guild. I was still in dark about type or level of crest, but any beginner of magician shall wear robe without any crest.
I had arrived at magic academy. I supposely entered the second building near to main building. The second building was called left wing and it was a bit smaller compared to main building.
I entered the left wing and saw three people in it. They was chatting among themselves and laughing about something. I guessed they were also students like me because their robe didn't have any crest engraved on it.
I stood at one side not far from them.
After 15 minutes waiting, another 6 people came in, I assumed all of them was student.
Then a mature lady with glamorous robe came in from one of the room inside of left wing. Her robe had crest on it, so she maybe a teacher for this class.
She observed all of us and asked us to come near to her.
"I guess all of you here are my new students. Welcome to magic academy of Selarin City. As you all know, we will learn and practice magic three days per week. So, first thing I want is your introduction. Begin!"
"My name is Matthieu, ma'am."
"My name is Breton, ma'am."
"Dylan, ma'am."
"Daisy."
"Sophia."
"Dexter."
"Irwan."
"Lawrence."
"Eleanor."
"Lydia."
Our new group of student had six man and four female. We were lining side by side toward our new teacher.
"Okay, I'm your teacher for beginner course. In this class I will teach how to use simple magic and spell. My name is Tessele. For first class I will teach you about magic theory. Now go enter that room and sit at any table you like."
Ma'am Tessele directed her forefinger to near room where she came from before.
We all entered that class and after five minutes we sit closely to each other. Then Ma'am Tessele came into our new class.
"I hope you all ready to hear my first lecture. It's better to listen carefully of what I will say because I rarely repeat of words I already said."
She took a book from inside her robe and opened to certain page.
"First, introduction to magic. Magic is a natural energy that exist since creation of Gaia world. All living thing include human and beast contain a trace of mana inside their body. It is unclear which organ inside human body that produce and regulate the mana. Many scholars believe that mana is influenced by emotion and intelligence of individual, so we naturally control mana by our heart and mind.
Although all human possess mana, but their volume and quality is different from each other. Volume is how much mana your body can afford it. We can increase the volume of mana through increasing our level or consume the mana stone but this method is more dangerous and taboo.
While quality of mana is referring to affinity of mana to magic element. We can use all element of magic but their efficiency and greatness is heavily influenced by affinity itself. Someone whom has water affinity can use water magic excellently without any trouble but not the same when they use earth or wind magic.
Affinity of mana is determined by birth. You can have affinity with one, two or all of magic elements but this is rare case. Fortunately we can train ourselves to get all affinity towards magic elements but not all people who train can get it easily without sacrifice ad determination. Luck and talent influence of how you walk into path of magician."
Then for three hours straight she lectured us about magic without stopping. Her lecture was not boring because this is new knowledge for me. I was too craving for information about magic.
While listening to her, I secretly observed my new classmates. I can say I'm not the oldest here. Dexter and Eleanor maybe had same age as me. While the rest was still young as teenagers, maybe around 15 to 17 years old.
My teacher, Madam Tessele, had long blond hair and blue eyes. Her lip was brightly red from lipstick. I secretly hoped she could wear a glass to add sexiness feeling in her face.
After that, her long lecture was finally finished. She closed the book and showed no sign of exhausting even though she talk straight for long time.
"Okay, our first lecture is done. It is lunch time, you can dismiss yourself for a lunch break. After that, please come training area in left wing. I will show you how to use magic."
One hour later I went to training area near to my classroom. All ten people of new students were waiting the arrival of teacher.
Then, teacher Tessele walked in and stood at middle ground.
"Our first training is to detect the mana inside our body. You need to be calm and quiet in order to feel the flowing of mana circulate your body."
I closed my eyes and concentrated my mind to detect any mana. I remembered the warm feeling when I met the priest and touched the magic ball. Maybe the warm feeling was reference to mana flow.
"Remember, imagine the mana as your own blood. The mana flow thorough your body as blood circulate thorough your veins. You will feel warm, cold or spooky feeling as you detect your mana. Each person will feel their mana differently from others."
So for me to detect the mana when I feel the fairly of high temperature rised suddenly in my body. I poured more concentration into my mind. I pushed myself to feel the warm feeling again.
Then something hot flowed from my heart and moved to arm, then to abdomen and down to leg and finally jumped to my brain. This hot flow continuously circulated my body and I feel more stronger than before as I leaked my aura. So this was my mana flow.
"Good, all of you can detect your own mana without any problem. You can control the flow of mana with your emotion or mind. Now I will show you how to release your magic."
Teacher Tessele faced the target board 50 metres from us. She put her right hand forward to target. Then she shouted, 'water ball', and right after that, water formed in front of her hand in shape of small ball.
That water ball immediately flied and hit the target. The board now become wet from splash of water ball.
"I was just using the water magic of level one, water ball. To use water ball, I gather the mana inside my hand. If you can control the mana, it is not a problem to gather the mana to any area inside your body.
After you collect a certain amount of mana, you need to imagine and concentrate the shape of mana into any spell or magic that you desire. After you finish the shape of mana, finally you can release the magic to your target.
Water magic is water ball, fire is fire ball, earth is earth stone, wind is wind slash, light is light bullet, and dark is dark bullet. These are level one of magic to each element. I believe all of you know your own best affinity when you took first test during registration.
Now I want each one of you shoot your magic based on your high element affinity. Remember, imagination is a key to shape your mana. Concentrate your mana to shape of ball, stone, slash or bullet. Face the target board and release your magic."
My best affinity is fire and dark but I was also told that I can excellently use any element. I already used fire magic before this. So I want to use the dark magic.
Same as teacher Tessele, I showed my hand to target board. First I gathered and pulled any mana into my hand. After I feel mana was accumulated in my hand, I shaped my mana into dark bullet form.
I imagined a small bullet like gun bullet inside a revolver. After I finished the shape, now I ready to release my first dark magic.
"Dark bullet."
My dark bullet shooted in high velocity as I imagine the high speed of gun shooting. The dark bullet hit the target and board shocked for a while. I can see the area in board which being hit by dark bullet become darker and corrode. Wow, dark magic was bit more dangerous than water magic.
The result from first shooting of magic was three people used fire ball, two water ball, two earth stone, one wind slash, one light bullet and one dark bullet.
After all student shooted their magic, the teacher Tessele dismissed the class and we were freely to return back. We need to come back to day after tomorrow for resuming the class.
So I straightly went down to inn without stopping at guild. I don't want to do any quest today. I want to rest early.
