Chapter 9 - Theft

Looking at Lilia's dress from afar he cannot help but notice a jingling pouch wrapped around her waist. That was when he thought of the brilliant idea of bumping onto her and stealing it. That way, the connection between him and that lady will be established. It may be a bad connection but a connection is still a connection. Using that as his introduction, he will continue to pester Lilia until he can be considered a friend. A friend who will have the opportunity to meet Alice and Charles! That is why he prepared himself to bump into her.

However, before he can do so, a child no older than ten, beat him to it. It was obvious by the way the child moved that the bumping incident was intentional. He knew that the child's intention was to steal the pouch. After all, who better to know the intention of another than one who had similar motives. The wheel in his head started to turn as 25 blurted out.

"Hurry, Hurry. Damn Kiel! Your chance to establish a connection with that lady is already going down!"

Kiel knew that he had to chase that kid and become the hero to the damsel in distress without 25 nagging in his head. As he too was supposed to steal the pouch, he got to Lilia's location immediately and he claimed his intention of chasing that kid to get back her stolen pouch. Lilia was assisted by Clouie in getting up, Lilia in her confusion just nodded to the blue-haired boy before seeing him off to chase that damnable kid.

"Are you alright, Lilia?"

Clouie worriedly helped her up. She was surprised that her pouch will be stolen now of all times as she has frequented the marketplace quite often. "It must be because of the dress which has caught that kid criminal's attention." She can only sigh as she thought of this. She usually dressed up in commoner clothes when she goes to this place but she cannot do that today as she was escorting the princess.

"That guy, I wonder if he is able to catch that kid"

Clouie wondered as she gazed out in that man's direction.

"For all we know, he may have been an accomplice."

Lilia exasperatedly blurted out. She herself hadn't realized her pouch was missing until that blue haired boy stated that it was. To her, the timing felt very suspicious. She had also seen several movies with similar scenes so she cannot help but be critical of it.

Clouie agreed with her and asked if she has anything important in there. To which she responded, that it contained some gold and silvers but not so important that she has to get it back at all cost. They decided to leave it be and just go back to the palace for the time being. If that blue-haired boy was able to catch that boy, then she will just give that pouch and its contents as a reward. However; if he was indeed an accomplice, then good for them, she hoped she will not see them again or else she wouldn't know what misfortune may befall them…
