Chapter 759 - The Ark Of The Brine King's Runes

"One thing led to another, and I learned about my newfound powers if I ever get summoned by Mavislin. I've got two Original Spells, thanks to my Arcane Eyes. I have no clue why but I do. The first is my Lynx Eyes, which doesn't take too much Elemental Energy to unleash."

"Depending on what mode Mavislin has summoned me, I can fully unleash all Eight Rounds of Lynx Eyes. But I can only manage one stage at a time for the next Spell; Brine King's Kingdom Of Runes."

"So the spell would be from the Brine King or Lynx Eyes?" asked the Valkyrie, intrigued that someone who wasn't a Mage could have two Original Spells.

Then again, Mavislin wasn't in the position to say anything because she could mix Elements around as if it was a dish.

"It would be the Brine King's Runes; Fortress of the Brine King. It is similar to Mavislin's Lord Atlantia, but it looked different, and the aftereffect would be Seawater Roar. The attack would launch a large column of Seawater to the target, reopening any wounds."

"That specific feature of the spell is part of why it sucks up so much Elemental Energy."

"The Seawater Element is quite the unique Element to have since I have never seen anyone using it as the main Element. Some say it was weak, but I don't think any Element is weak. That's up to the Mage to decide. But, judging by my supply of Elemental Energy, I can give it to you..."

"I think you would have enough, but you can't stay here anymore. It will take weeks to recover from that, so it's up to you," suggested Mavislin, staring at Ashley with stern eyes.

The Marksman Pillar contemplated for a while before nodding firmly at the Valkyrie.

"Alright then! That's three roles taken. The next one would be responsible for breaking the King's defense. According to the charts, the King's body armor is forged by both Merlin and another Metal Mage. So it's not going to be easy... Nonetheless, it's a job that needed to be done."

"So, Mordred, Ankou, you decide who will shatter the King's armor, " answered Mavislin, clapping her hands.

The two Spirits were quiet as they asked their respective Masters about the matter. Duncan knew that Midori and Mordred wanted to get a chance to kill the King alongside Mavislin, so he offered to be the one in the current role. However, the Ankou questioned his Lord about this choice.

"Why wouldn't I be sure? Mordred had been yapping about not killing the King, so I'm giving her the chance to do so. Besides, Midori is also hell-bent on proving to Mother Mav that she deserved the title of the Swordsman Pillar."

"I couldn't care less about these things, but it would make a living much easier without these two females nagging all the time," explained Duncan, swinging his legs as he sat on top of a gravestone.

The Ankou watched the boy for a bit longer before sighing and agreeing with him.

"I suppose you are right. Well then, what are your plans to do the honors?" asked the Ankou, tossing the scythe towards Duncan.

The boy stuck out an arm and caught the flying weapon quickly, proving to the Ankou that he was no longer the terrified little boy of the past. Despite looking so empty, Duncan was always crying on the inside. Terrified about everything, this boy was not cut out to be strong.

His father summoned the Spirit of Death into Duncan's body. To take care of such a little, weak child. But now, there was no need for such fears as Duncan would be the first Dementor Pillar. The Ankou smiled as the boy casually spun the scythe in one hand.

What a beautiful example of how people can change if you leave them to face Death in the eyes.

"Hmm... Let's try something that can deliver a huge amount of power into a single target and not have it explode in my face, " said Duncan as he stopped spinning the scythe to look at its design.

"Let's see... How about the Sixth Frame? That should be great for breaking things!" suggested the Ankou with a big grin.

"The Sixth Frame... Alright then, you can describe it to the rest while I learn more about it here," replied Duncan as he hopped off the stone and threw the scythe to the Ankou.

"Of course, my Little Lord," said the Ankou, catching the scythe with two fingers and turning around to wake up in the natural realm.

Only two Ticks have gone by as the Ankou proudly announced the news.

"Duncan and I have decided to take up this job. I hope everyone's fine with this decision," said the Ankou.
