Chapter 724 - The Ark Of Flames Of Helios

"Hey! Wait for a-"

Before the man could say anything else, the fireball exploded toward the Knight. Mavislin could only grin at the sight of Galahad releasing his blade and running away from the blast. Sadly, some of the flames were caught onto the Knight's hair, resulting in a very comical scene for Mavislin.

The Valkyrie could not help but laugh at the Knight trying to put out the flames on his hair. The entire thing reminded Mavislin of how Baldwin used to burn himself when he got too near to Mavislin's garden or soft toys. Or the tribal dances of the Eastern Forest people.

One was hilarious with a cussing Dark Mage and his misfortune for being weak against the Light Element. But, simultaneously, the other memory was beautiful and mesmerizing, seeing how humans could perform so dazzlingly despite the hardships placed on them.

Unfortunately, the Knight looked goofier as he desperately tried to douse the flames by rushing towards the raging seas. Mavislin eventually stopped laughing and decided to help her opponent by unleashing a waterfall on his head, earning a slew of curses from the poor man.

"What? Aren't you happy that I put out the flames for you? No need to thank me, it would be such a shame to let that beautiful head of hair get burned away by the flames of Helios..." said the Valkyrie, outright provoking the Knight's anger.

"And whose fault was that?! I could've doused the flames using sand or the sea next to us... Instead, I'm drenched from head to toe because of your reckless choice! And I hate being wet!" yelled the Knight of Heaven, swinging his sword.

"Are you kidding me? I did you a favor, and this is how you repay me?! I ought to replace your head with another Sun! Honestly, what an ingrate!" scolded the Valkyrie, angrily stomping her foot.

To Galahad's horror, Mavislin's stomp was more potent than the stab of the giant shield next to her. On the other hand, maybe being slammed by the shield wasn't too bad since he had to remember that Mavislin was another being and looked like a human for convenience's sake on Earth.

That meant her proper form could be anything the stars could come up with without the restraints of God or Humanity. Galahad shivered that he might be against a beast rather than a fair maiden of war.

"The flames of Helios cannot be doused by human means like its water or sand... This is because those flames are made from our Sun, Helios of Valokia. As such, it's a powerful Element that surpasses the normal Fire Element. Only the Water from Valokia's Ten Oceans can put out such a thing."

"Since I've been all over my old planet, I can conjure the water up from my memories," explained the Valkyrie, leaning against her shield.

"Wait, are you not from Earth? I thought you were a myth come to life?" asked Galahad, earning another waterfall on his head.

"Stop doing that! I'm free of the flames! If I'd wanted to have a bath, I would've jumped into the seas already! So stop doing that attack and let me finish my sentence!" roared Galahad.

"How am I a myth when you are the one that has been dead for over half a millennium?! I'm a Valkyrie from the planet of Valokia, the largest planet within the Andromeda Galaxy! I am not from here and certainly not a myth!" yelled Mavislin.

"So you are from another world... Forgive me, but I'm not being exposed to too many Mages nor have a clear understanding of the worlds beyond ours. I only know that my opponent was a Mage in a human form but not her origins," apologized Galahad, bowing down.

Mavislin was taken aback by the sudden gentlemanliness of the Knight of Heaven and could not help but blush. Usually, she would be even angry because she had expected another insult from the enemy. Thus, a sincere apology certainly threw off her game.

But the Valkyrie shook the embarrassment away and continued her explanation. This whole fight has been quite different from the ones she had before this Mission, proving to be a good change from all the melancholy or despair from the past battles.

From the Umbras to facing the enemy within the Poison Chambers and facing off her twin twice, the Valkyrie was tired of the fights being so depressing, always fighting for life or being controlled by some form of evil or corruption.

This battle was supposed to be Galahad fighting to accomplish the dreams of the King, but It didn't feel that way since the Knight declared himself as different from the rest of the Knights. Galahad could be lying, but it wouldn't benefit him to do so.
