Chapter 703 - The Ark Of Mentally Breaking The Enemy

"You say you are saving humanity by doing away with those sinful people... Starting with the men who can't control their lustful desires of hitting on women... Am I right?"

"Yes... How can this place blossom into a Utopia when there are scum like them walking around? After taking care of them, we-"

"Then you are killing humanity by going through with this absurd plan. Since you've lost most of your reason, allow me to explain it to you... There is no such thing as a sinless human. Humanity has come far from the Stone Ages because they strive for prosperity and wealth."

"They built their empires out of the corpses of their enemies. So they have to perform sexual acts to procreate and ensure the continuation of their species. Those are sins, so telling me that your King wants to have humans live in a sinless Utopia would be nonsense to me."

Tristan's eyes turned into dinner plates as the Marksman spoke of the truth. Humans were born from sin; they were destined to be sinners. Humans commit sins in the name of their rights and justice. They behead people under the guise of justice.

But once that blade falls, the person who releases the blade becomes a killer. The Sinless Utopia of Avalon was a trick as no human could be sinless. If one becomes without sin, then that person becomes divine. And no human is divine, for they are mortals bound to live on Earth.

"And if I wasn't too mistaken, Lancelot went insane because the King refused to punish him for courting Queen Guinevere. That whole affair was brought to light because you left the Round Table and said those cursed words to doom the Knights forever."

"Have you forgotten that you'd abandoned your comrades because you couldn't bear to see the tragedy that awaited Camelot?" questioned Ashley, having a dead look in his eyes.

"Nonsense! I... I am still part of the Round Table! I'd only gone on a faraway journey with my beloved to see the world, and I've just returned to my King! I will never abandon my fellow Knights! Especially not my King... You are only saying this to trick my will and reason!"

"Your will and reason were thrown out of the planet from the moment you arrived here! Your speech and facts have been inconsistent since you've mentioned that you are loyal to your King! Because you were the one who provoked the fall of Camelot!"

"Our King does not understand the human heart... Doesn't that ring any bells for you?" asked Ashely as the Knight of Lamentation dropped his bow.

Tristan heard the Marksman's words echo throughout his head, trying to understand why that sentence was so important to him.

"And earlier, when talking about my ancestors... You'd said that you killed my entire lineage, and then you said you allowed the children and wife to live? So I had to correct you because Mavislin is giving me the backstories of my family."

The archer squeezed his eyes tight and covered his ears, desperately trying to close off everything to find the source of the sentence from earlier. Did he... Honestly said such things to his King?! Then, why has he revived when he had already left the Round Table?!

Poor Tristan was mentally breaking down as Ashley continued his verbal assault on the man. Of course, this new way of torture wasn't as fun as turning his opponent into a punching bag, but Ashley couldn't waste too much Elemental Energy since he relied on Mavislin to keep him in the world.

"Isn't it fun to tease these hopeful minds, dear Archer of the Round Table?" taunted Ashley with a giant grin.

This man... This inhuman person was having fun seeing the Knight of Lamentation having a mental breakdown!

"I... Will... KILL YOU!" screamed Tristan, grabbing his bow and charging toward Ashley.

"This sudden burst of aggression from you is getting old! When will you learn that you have already lost?!"

The Marksman sighed as he swiftly dodged the charging Knight and stuck out a foot to trip the enemy. Tristan broke the fall by tumbling away and standing up to shoot more arrows, but Ashley wasn't having any more of those small flies.

The Marksman vanished from his spot and appeared behind Tristan. The Knight turned around just time to get punched in the jaw again.

"Doing the same trick over and over again is pointless against me... I can heal myself and-"

The poor Knight had to shut his mouth up as Ashley appeared in front of him and grabbed onto his bow. As adrenaline pumped through his veins, Ashley broke the bow by crushing the wood. Tristan was reduced to nothing as he watched his bow disperse into wooden shards.
