Chapter 696 - The Ark Of Merlin In The Congregation

"So that's when Ashley received the call from Mavislin to help Rina against Bedivere since she had noticed a huge spike in Elemental Energy coming from the Spearman's emblem," finished Bryan, gesturing for Ashley.

"We appeared to counter the enemy's spell just in time. And I still have enough power and bullets left to finish the last target," said Ashley, proudly shaking his bullet sack.

The Headmaster wanted to flip the table as the two Mages talked about finding Merlin as it was nothing. But Gillian thought better than to hurt the three First Seats of Mavislin's Pillars and let out a hefty sigh.

"Merlin was never dead to us... And I had not expected a third-rate Knight to harness the power of the Holy Lance. And never in a million years would I think that a human Mage could stand his ground, alone, against the Knight of Sun."

"I want to be angry at you guys for letting Merlin get away, but with Bryan killing and torturing the Knight of the Sun and Rina giving the Knight of Loyalty the forgiveness he needed despite everything... I can't find any fault to scold you," explained Gillian as he stared at the trio.

"Hey! How about me?! I fought against Tristan all by myself and had to help them! Don't I get something?" protested Ashley.

"Yes, you get a cookie and some meat on sticks that Clement has prepared for you. Now stop whining as if you are a child!" scolded Gillian.

"Hmph... I'm not too fond of cookies... Anyways, was that why Bryan was angry for not getting Merlin?" asked Ashley, trying to get confirmation from the Headmaster.

"No... I'm not upset because of that... I'm angry because I hate people like Merlin. That Mage gave off a vibe that hurt my brain. And I saw him in my memories when Rina's spell affected me," Bryan answered.

"What did the poor guy do to you for him to feel the wrath of your legs?" asked Ashley, slowly turning his head to face Bryan.

"I have no clue other than he might have made moves on my sister or something..."

"Back to Ashley's question; you are right about us targeting Merlin, but it's because of the Knights' revival. But it's only a tiny hunch without a backbone because Merlin has always represented the bright spectrum of the Elements."

"If Baldwin were known for being shrouded in Darkness, Merlin would be bathed in Blessings from Avalon. To give you an insight into his powers, the Mage of Flowers founded the idea of 'Paradise' in history books. In addition, he taught most of the Congregation's newcomers sword fighting."

"The Mage's Original Spell was the one who created the lesser spells of Excalibur and its pairing sheath, Arondight, Galatine, and Clarent. The Dream Mage's Elemental Energy forged these swords. And since he is an incubus, Merlin would have no end to his Elemental Energy levels."

"The man isn't a bad person as you would think so, but he isn't free of sin either. The Mage of Flowers can kill if he wants to, even beating some of the higher ranks in swordplay and Magecraft. Thus, Old Man Pond knew not to piss Merlin off, so left the Mage to his devices," explained Gillian.

"Then if you'd knew that Merlin wasn't the one to do these kinds of things... Why would you presume that he caused the revival of the Knights?" asked Rina, confused.

"Because we have another thing coming for us for Merlin's powers... It's the fact that his old ways might have backfired on him, or he could have wrongly triggered something. We don't have a solid answer, but we can't rule out that possibility either."

Silence befell the group as Ashley found a chair to sit down.

"So... Is anyone going to ask me how my fight with the Knight of the Bow went?" asked Ashley.

"You had the backing of the Valkyrie, so I don't think you could've ever lost in that battle... And if you did, I will dig into your grave and punch you in the face for wasting my girl's Elemental Energy," said Gillian.

"Hey, it's not my fault that I have to rely on Mavislin for my Elemental Energy... But I think my battle would have something to contribute to the problem against the Six Rogue Mages and the Knights of the Round Table..."

"Oh, is that so? What have you got for me then, the little brother of the Marquess?" questioned Gillian.

"If your words were an arrow, then you've struck bullseye."

"But didn't you say that your brother was in Euphoria?" asked Bryan.

"Yes, but that doesn't mean copies of him can't be made here. If the Round Table Knights can be revived or copied, then Minwoo can appear again..."
