Chapter 674 - The Ark Of Doors To The Knights, Phase Two

"The Knight of the Sun... The one who shouldered the Sun and could act as the stand-in for King Arthur. Killed by his anger and regret, this is the man who refused to allow Lancelot to fight alongside the King to quell his rage against Mordred... Aim for him and open the gates!"

The door in front of Bryan was more significant than the other doors. An imprint of the Sun with golden streams. The Slayer had gotten used to the pain and was standing at attention.

"So now it's my turn. My target would be the Knight of the Shield, Galahad. I will try to finish the task before sundown. This Knight may be the strongest out of all five targets since he is the only one to have beaten Lancelot in a fair fight..."

"So better get ready to feel the ground shaking, " said Mavislin as she stepped forward.

"The Knight Of Heaven... The one who succeeded in obtaining the Holy Grail and was called the noblest Knight of Camelot. Son of Lancelot, this is the Knight who was the next in line as the new generation of the Round Table Knights. Galahad Of Revelations..."

"So hold down the Fort and open the gates!" chanted Gillian as the page in front of Mavislin morphed into a portal.

Everyone else's pages had turned into doors, but a large, cross-shaped shield appeared this time. The Valkyrie was confused but did not fear as she touched the shield. As she did so, her hand went through the shield, confirming that she could pass through the guard like a standard door.

"Let's get this over and done with."

Rina opened her door, followed by everyone else. But, as Gillian said, only Rina went through the door first. Then, as the door vanished, Ashley went in. The twins held each other hands as they hopped into their targets' door.

Before Bryan could jump into his, Mavislin had one more thing to say.

"Avalon will keep you alive via its healing powers, but I think there is a way to use its powers offensively," said Mavislin.

"Hopefully, I won't have to resort to that measure."

The Valkyrie was the only one left as she turned to look at a very tired Aki.

"I'll be off then, Father," said Mavislin with a grin and a wink.

Before the Headmaster could say anything else, Mavislin had rushed into the portal, leaving Gillian confused.

"I better go help Clement before those kids turn him into tonight's dinner..." grumbled Gillian, getting up to leave the room.

As he went downstairs, Gillian could not help but laugh at the sight before him. Z had managed to get all the kids into one space and was reading them a story while Clement chopped some fruits, most likely for the children's tea break.

Ysabeau was nowhere to be seen until Gillian walked over to the pantry.

"I know you like cookies, but you shouldn't be snacking outside of your routine, my love," said Gillian, gently patting his wife's head.

"Baby wants food. I give it food..." protested Ysabeau, rubbing her tiny baby bump.

Gillian gave a hearty laugh before drawing his wife close to his body.

"I was wondering... When the baby is born, will Mavislin be jealous of it?" asked Gillian, with his eyes casting downwards onto Ysabeau's bump.

"I don't think she would be the type to be bitter about such small things, especially when she's an older twin. Besides, Mavislin isn't a child and hasn't been for a long time."

"If she were going to be jealous, then Mavislin wouldn't have started the Orphanage or helped those newborn humans. So you are fretting about nothing, " assured Ysabeau, gently stroking her husband's shoulder.

"You are right; I'm worried about something impossible. But I would like to know another thing; Would we be okay with seeing Mav get married to Raiyen?"

Ysabeau could hear something snap, and the couple checked if something had happened to the children. Much to their surprise, it was Z holding onto a book broken into two pieces with the kids all looking at the Mage with horror.

"Nevermind about us... I don't think Z is ready to accept that Raiyen and Mavislin are getting married someday."

Before the children could start crying, Z quickly rushed away to get another book from the study.

"I hope the Barren Pillars are strong enough to defeat the Knights... Because if our attacking ace falls, we have to go full force on the rest of the areas," said Gillian, resting on the chair.

"Yes, and we might have to activate all personnel, including the ones on Missions because the enemy will increase their firepower... We need to secure the win before the Corrupted One shows up and the Waves begins... Or else..."
