"What is it?"
"Why would Merlin revive the Knights of the Round Table after so many years? Our corpses should be dust by now, except for King Arthur himself. No matter how hard we try, our titles have become passing legends as time passes, so what's the point of reviving everything again?"
"It's just a hunch, but I think Merlin had revived all of the Knights to get revenge on the humans who had wronged his beloved King. Either that or Merlin seriously has a problem with things staying dead. I am hoping for the earlier option..." answered the Valkyrie.
"Forgive me for being rude, but your assumptions are incorrect; Merlin is reviving the Knights for only one reason. That Dream Mage wants to let the Husks rise again, and he is using the Knights as a stepping stone to get the attention of Benjamin," interrupted Ashley.
"Then why would Merlin team up with Fabian Brookes? It sounds like extra effort to team up with another person who doesn't have the same goal. The Mage could've gone solo since he got the power of the Round Table," asked Raiyen, raising an eyebrow.
"No, if what Ashley said was right, then it would be wise for Merlin to team up with Fabian Brookes and cause chaos in the Five Domains. The Corrupted One can't be summoned unless copious amounts of death are in the areas. So by starting an uprising, it will get Benjamin's attention."
Mavislin's explanation shocked Raiyen, who hadn't realized that Benjamin and the Husks couldn't be summoned out of the blue.
"So that's why Benjamin appeared after the final fight against the Umbras..." said Raiyen, stumbling upon a revelation.
"But I'm still conflicted with that proposed assumption. If he gets the Husks out now, Merlin will only get himself killed, and the whole world will burn-"
The Valkyrie stopped before going further as she realized something was wrong.
"What is it, Lady Roydon?" asked Ashley, suddenly concerned that his boss was frozen still.
"How could I be so foolish and forgetful?! After arguing with Merlin one last time, the Mage stated that he never wanted to return to Britannia because he knew of the kingdom's fate. So how could he be at the final battle right after Mordred killed King Arthur?!" said Mavislin, shocked.
"Maybe someone was messing with your memories? Or have you forgotten who you fought after the final fight? Maybe the Dream Mage wanted to see the aftermath, so he came back for a while?" asked Raiyen, comforting his girl.
"Okay, let's say if he came back to fight me, then why would Merlin be out and about how to do all these things? From what I understand, Merlin was running away from his angered lover for some weird reason and had got himself trapped in the Garden of Avalon," said mavislin.
Once again, no one knew how to reply to Mavislin's thoughts and sat there in silence for a few moments.
"Well, since we can't get any of our brains to work, let's focus on getting the target. So it's settled then... Mordred and the Ankou would be going against Lancelot, the Knight of the Lake," announced the Valkyrie as the Founders swung the door open.
Mavislin stood up so fast that poor Raiyen was flung into a wall next to the sleeping Slayer and Spearman, waking them up.
"Is the world ending?!" asked the Slayer as he woke up from the bang.
Rina instantly hopped out of the blanket and behind Mavislin after she realized how she had been sleeping. Ashley stifled his laughter while the kids stood up and backed away from the Founders.
"We are done with our meeting, and Gillian has requested the two of you to see him in the meeting room. So, Mavislin, bring along your Pillars and those that will aid you in your battle as this will be the first time you are heading into the conflict with your Pillars," instructed Z.
"In the meantime, we would be taking care of the sleeping kids in your stead. Once the meetings are over, we are heading out when Baldwin confirms the death of the Rabid Dog," said Ysabeau, sitting down.
Mavislin nodded as the Time Mage glitched back to her side. Bryan yawned as he got up to follow the Founders out the door. As for the twins, they trailed along with Mavislin taking both of their hands. Z couldn't help but see the Valkyrie as a great mother when they walked out of the room.
The image of a tall figure with a hooded cloak holding the hands of two children by its side seemed to have a lasting effect on the Galaxian's mind... He wondered if it was his memories or if he had stared into the screens for too long.
