Chapter 647 - The Ark Of Mordred Chiming In

"And I will never get tired of your habit of glitching around the area..." complained Mavislin as she pushed Raiyen away.

"Aw~ I thought you liked it when I was always by your side? You love my cuddles..." whined Raiyen, pouting.

"Shall I leave you lovebirds to your own devices? I think Tomoe might want to have a drink, and I want to join him," Ashley said, trying to escape the situation.

"No, you are not joining with the fox in drinking yourselves to death, even though you are dead," ordered Mavislin, pulling on Ashley's collar.

Silence befell the trio for a few Tocks before Ashley spoke his mind.

"So... Are we going to do a tag team with Raiyen, or are we all flying solo with our Arks?" asked the Marksman.

"I would love to work with Mav, but I don't think the Headmaster would allow it since my Ark is designed to be in the shadows while the Pillars are front-line soldiers," explained the Time Mage, yawning.

"I wouldn't be so sure because the Headmaster requested f meeting between the Vigilante and Barren Pillars. When that happens, it's usually to make us work together. Perhaps I'll rely on the Vigilante's intelligence to send my Pillars to their suited targets or something else entirely."

"I may be old, but I'm not old enough to know what the Headmaster is thinking," said the Valkyrie.

"I heard that the Dynasty of Wings and the Blizzard Faction always work together... So this war should be no different from other times, right?" asked the Marksman, stretching his fingers.

"The sea and air defenses are needed within the Five Domains since both armies are bigger than the rest of the departments. Besides, Ysabeau and Z were known as the best duo on the battlefield back in the days of the Congregation, so I would trust them working together."

"That poses another question... I know it's not my place to ask but are the Pillars equipped to face such a conflict? We are going against an army of dolls with six Rogue Mages and the revived Knights of the Round Table..."

"Do we have enough workforce to pull off such a stunt?" questioned Ashley, furrowing his brows at Mavislin.

"For most of the conflicts that needed the Pillars to act, I've always gone to the area and dealt with the enemy myself. This is the only war I have got people in my Pillars to help in the fights. So yes, even if we don't have enough workforce, our firepower can compensate for it."

"Not to mention that the sea and sky are helping out. Thus, I won't be worrying anytime soon," explained the Valkyrie.

"So you don't need my help, Wing nut?" asked Midori, who was awake and squatting beside Ashley.

The poor Marksman felt his soul left for the afterlife and returned when Midori sounded out. Mavislin's eyes widened as she figured Mordred was controlling the fox child's body.

"I don't mind the help, but you aren't at your full power, Mordred. Midori's body would get destroyed if you were to charge into battle in your condition."

"I'm not going to allow that to happen, so you'll be staying in the Old Chapel," explained Mavislin, as Mordred collapsed on the floor while hugging her knees.

"But it's so boring being cooped up here without having any fights! I don't want to waste time here when there's a war to be fought!" whined Mordred as she rolled around.

"Are you some overgrown child?! Be quiet, or else you will wake the other children up..." scolded Raiyen, shaking his head at the Knight.

Mavislin sighed as she placed a hand on Mordred's head. The Time Mage and Knight of Rebellion thought Mavislin would smack Mordred back into maturity, but she did no such thing. Instead, the Valkyrie smiled as she gently combed through the girl's hair.

Since Mordred has taken over Midori's body for the moment, the child's physical features were slightly altered to look more like Mordred, with blonde hair and a taller body. So Mavislin could not help but see the girl as her best friend from King Arthur's reign.

However, there were still a few glaring differences between the two, and that was Mordred's voice and her hairstyle. Right now, the Knight of Rebellion's hair was in a simple ponytail.

"It's good to see that you still wear that ribbon I gave you all those years ago... It's been so long since I've prettied up your hair; shall I do it again?" asked Mavislin.

"What do you mean, Mav?" asked Mordred, blushing as she sat up.

"Have you forgotten? Come 'ere... I'll do your hair as I used to before you put on that hunk of metal..." said Mavislin, gently tugging the ribbon to let down the Knight's hair.
