Chapter 630 - The Ark Of Covert Ops

Tomoe looked like he was about to punch everyone in the room before he sighed and relaxed.

"I'm technically free to do as I please since Raiyen is down, but it would mean that I'm supposed to help that Time Mage with other things. So I wanted to head to Campania and scout out for that Raijin person. But I'm not well equipped to fight the person again," answered Tomoe.

"Then isn't it good that you stayed?" asked Ashley, raising an eyebrow at the Kitsune.

"I could've gathered intel... And continued to train my Original Spell. But never mind me, I'm interested to find out if you have gathered enough information to go up against the Black Knight and her people," said Tomoe, pointing to the floating window beside Mavislin.

The Valkyrie sighed as she grabbed the screen about the Black Knight and dragged it to let the trio read. The Black Knight's levels were of top-ranked statues, matching the Time Mage's stats in combat and strength. Some males have tried fighting her, but they've vanished.

"I'm still stuck... I don't know how I am going to kill the Black Knight with this much human traffic in the area. I want the whole sting operation to be as covert as possible since we've got issues with the locals based on the results of the Infinite Experiment Mission," said Mavislin.

"I thought the people of Albion were quite nice? Why do you sound as if they were mad at you for liberating the torture chambers? You saved most of the women..." asked Bryan, worried at why Mavislin was bearing a burdened look.

"On the surface, when the people were talking to us, the people of Albion look and sound friendly. But I caused the death of their beloved leader by dragging him into the chambers. And I didn't save all the people in that place. It was amazing that the people haven't thrown me out yet."

"Out of all Missions, the Infinite Experiment has the most victims I couldn't save. I thought being in a world that had nearly eradicated the entire Universe would be easy for me to handle these kinds of things, but... I am still just a child at heart..."

The Valkyrie looked down on her lap before closing her eyes.

"There's no such thing as getting used to death. If that is the case, you're no more than a mindless puppet walking around the planet. You've got emotions; cherish them. Because most people out there don't know the luxury of feeling anything," said Raiyen, standing by the door.

"Hey! It's one of the bright few times that someone doesn't destroy my door before coming in because my door is wide-opened!" Z, filled to the brim with sarcasm as he looked up from his work.

Raiyen walked into the room and went straight for his Valkyrie to give her a big hug.

"I thought you were going to sleep for a few more days? Why have you woken up so soon?" asked Mavislin as Raiyen gently ruffled her hair.

"Mav, if I were to stay in bed for the next few days, I won't be waking up anymore because I'm a human and need to drink. I understand that Valkyrie can go for months without food or water, but I can't, so here I am, with a throat as dry as the dessert and a headache that can split mountains."

"See? You get this when you try to pull off a spell that doesn't match your level, Time Boy. You will have quite a few visitors on your tail soon enough, so best be ready. Anyways, I'll leave you lot up to discussion while I head down to get some drinks," said Z.

"Tch... There's a reason why I always want to kick your door down..." murmured Raiyen as Z left the room.

The Time Mage folded his arms before hugging his girl again, shocking Mavislin.

"Come on... At least feel a bit better after seeing your man..."

"Raiyen's got the point; you don't have to feel bad for not accepting the deaths of others in a blink of an eye. If you were that person, I would've answered Minwoo's call to join the Barren Pillars. I didn't think that the friendly people of Albion would bear a grudge against us..."

"That's not the case, Bryan. What I was getting at was my guilt and pain of not acting quick enough about the whole situation. I've got many regrets, but there's no point moping around to fix something that can't be undone. The only thing I can do now is to pull off a covert operation."

"Hm? You have got the King of covert operations here... How would you like me to help?" asked the proud Time Mage.
