And Mavislin did say that Abi was her best friend before coming into the Congregation... The Angry Man seemed so confused as Mavislin revealed herself to be someone who knew of the Congregation's antic and even a Mage who seldom went out to the public.
Merlin was a Mage that did not see eye to eye with the group. Thus, when the Congregation fell, they never asked Merlin to join them since he was untrustworthy. Ysabeau had a worried look while she questioned Mavislin about knowing Merlin.
"Merlin was a Mage sent to aid the Pendragon family centuries before King Arthur took the throne. That Dream Mage worked well with Old Man Pond and voluntarily got himself into conflicts to see what the power of war could do to humans and Mages alike."
"Every step he made was the wishes of Old Man Pond. Eventually, Merlin's Dream Element influenced the revolt that Mordred led. And down to the fall of King Arthur's reign so he could experiment on the King's body. How you found that out during your trips is beyond me."
"But, you shouldn't go poking into foreign territory, Mavislin. But I'll have to advise you about Merlin; he is a sweet-talker, so you can never fall for his antics. They used the Infinite Experiment Mission to cover up the kidnappings done by the Black Knight," warned Ysabeau.
The High Queen stared at Mavislin with a stern message in her eyes. The Valkyrie nodded as she tried her best to recall the events leading up to the fall of Camlann. However, Mavislin drew a blank before reading about how the King kidnapped the kids.
"From the members positioned there, they claim that the Black Knight doesn't show during the day and only strikes at night. Therefore, the Altered King's victims are all males thinking Artoria is a Freelance Flower Girl and trying to take advantage of her."
"However, after the males try to touch her, the King would make them sleep and drag them to a cellar near a brothel. It's always at the same place, and no one goes looking for these males. I had expected that the Black Knight would target girls, but all victims were male."
"No, the target was quite smart to target males during that time frame since the Arks were handling the issue with missing women and children. It wouldn't make sense to attack a genre of people the Arks were looking out for at the time. They could purchase kids if they'd like."
"But my bet would be kidnapping people as a Mage is significantly better than a human trying to chase after rascals all the time. And with everyone scrambling to protect their girls and children, the males are free to roam about unprotected," added Tomoe, deep in thought.
"It seems that someone spends too much time at Albion's Red Light District..." teased Raiyen, shaking his head at Tomoe.
"Hush now, unless you've got something good to contribute to the target's case," shot Tomoe.
"Albion's age for entering brothels isn't specified, so male children have the habit of finding women to be toys. I guess it worked out for the ex-leader of Camelot since her kidnapping streak is the biggest amongst the rest of the targets..."
The Valkyrie halted her explanation as she figured out why was this target's count higher than the rest. The King wasn't working alone, and the Valkyrie's suspicions were valid by the Map Crystal's new information.
"According to sources, five Knights are being revived and aiding in the kidnappings, excluding King Arthur. The Knights active are Tristan, Galahad, Lancelot, Gawain, and Bedivere. There might be more, but we can't be sure," read Raiyen.
"The Knight Of the Bow. The Knight of the Shield. The Knight Of the Lake. The Knight of the Sun. Lastly, the Knight of Wandering. The main cast of the battle of Camlann, excluding the leader of the revolt. Why am I not surprised that I would be against them... I've even known them personally!"
The Valkyrie gave out an exasperated sigh before noticing Midori didn't look very well. Mavislin quickly crouched down to see the girl's appearance. But when Mavislin tried to touch her face, Midori slapped her hand away, shocking everyone else.
"What's wrong, Midori?" asked Mavislin, worried at her little fox.
Bryan and Tomoe vanished from their spots and appeared between Midori and Mavislin to protect the Valkyrie. Both men had their weapons out and were ready to engage in battle against the tiny fox. This prompted Mavislin to give two divine wacks, one for each head, to the men.
"OW! What was that for?!" yelled the two men, turning to see Mavislin's angered face.
"You tell me before you try to kill my student!" shouted Mavislin, pushing the two away.
