"The aim for the Desert Eagles Project was to find the perfect Sand Mage from the desert plains beyond the Five Domains when Z had found multiple living entities in the dunes next to the Campania. Old Man Pond wanted to find a Mage from the other side of the world."
"I'm not going to question why that guy asked you to do it since I know how confusing that guy would be at times. But what did you do during the experiment?" asked Baldwin.
"Vastra, the Sand Mage, was the only one to die from my hand. The rest were trained to death—seven Mages against each other, trapped in an underground cave. I did bring them food and water but nothing more. That's all I can remember, and that she is dead," replied Ysabeau.
"I swear... I've seen her before! If I could ask my mother to come here, she would say the same thing. I don't like seeing ghosts, you know..." protested Bryan.
"Have you seen her powers before?" asked Mavislin, trying to comfort her Slayer.
"Yes, Vastra could manipulate sand to cater to her needs. She created a dome out of the sand to protect my mother and me. When we first met her, Vastra was a shopowner running a stall selling gems and other shiny things. My mother wanted to get some Crystal or Lacrima, so we were there."
"But she didn't strike me as a bad person... On the contrary, she struck me as deranged and out of this world. As I've mentioned earlier, Vastra protected us from an abnormal blizzard. And when the blizzard was getting out of hand to handle, she merely stepped outside and raised her palm at the snow."
"The real snowstorm turned into a sandstorm, and Vastra promptly stopped the disaster. It was cool to watch as the sand converged into her open palm, and she crushed it like it was nothing. Then, she waved goodbye after getting what we needed, and we never saw her again," told Bryan.
The Slayer was silent before realizing something important.
"Hang on... Why don't we contact my mother about this issue? She's been traveling all across the globe for the past century or so. There must be at least one time she would have seen something wrong within a Domain. But calling her would be a pain for me..." recalled Bryan.
"I would've called your mother as well, but since I know your mother's true name, I'm not going to call her. She is someone that can never interact with us since she, herself, is an abnormality in this time and age. There's a reason why you haven't seen her for so long."
"Even in the archives Z has in his room, your mother's profile is a glitch. So whenever we try to view her particulars and name, the place shuts down, and Z needs to power up everything from scratch. And speaking of the Galaxian Mage..." said Raiyen.
At this time, Z came rushing down with a small plastic thing in his hand and quickly slammed it into the Map Crystal. The table went insane as pop-ups appeared everywhere. After a while, six holographic slides popped out, all of which were familiar to the Congregation's ex-members.
One was the profile of the aforementioned; Vastra Arakaali, otherwise known as the Queen Of Sand. Her birthplace was undefined since it was out of the premise of the Five Domains. However, her lineage showed that she was a child of two Mages though being raised amongst human refugees.
Her father was a Sand Mage, while her mother was a Spider Mage with Poison Elements. Her location history showed her to be in Albion and the Campania Domains for a year and a half after Ysabeau killed her. And she resided in Briton for the longest, well over a decade.
But as for the current year of the issue, Vastra's location was unknown. Even with the live tracing of the Map Crystal, and the members all around reporting on various information, Vastra's whereabouts weren't visible. But the things she had done during the ten years were shown.
"For the years leading up to her vanishing in Briton, Vastra was known to have a gem shop in the far east of the Briton, near the coast of the North Sea. However, according to a few sources pulled by the patrolling members, Vastra used that shop as a lure for children."
"Specifically, children of wealthy decent and naive nature. Those kids were attracted to the beautiful gems and trinkets made by Vastra. What became of these children appears unknown, but we shouldn't get our hopes up either. Ysabeau's observations are right. A child per day."
Z read out the details on Vastra's profile as the rest carefully processed the information with Bryan's account on Vastra.
