Rina could not help but giggle at the two men's bickering. Raiyen could only hold back his anger as he did not want to show a bad example to the kids. Nevertheless, the children continued to ask and bombard Rina with questions about the duel against Duncan.
"I've never seen him so active before! Usually, when we were free to play, he never moved about. Duncan couldn't even walk at the age of six. And now he is bouncing off walls and kicking you?! I don't believe it!" whined Nasima.
"She's telling the truth. I don't expect Duncan to be so agile out of us. And he sounded so... Energetic as he announced his spells. As if he had been doing so all his life. Duncan usually keeps to himself, so we might not have seen his true personality yet," said Circe.
"Duncan is a great boy to duel against, but I didn't expect his power to negate my wings. I wished I could've prolonged the battle," sighed Rina, cuddling Nasima.
As for Mavislin and Duncan, the two stood in front of each other in silence before Duncan apologized for going overboard.
"I tried my best to hold back, but I didn't think the Seventh Frame would work. The last time I tried to use it, I realized that it wouldn't have worked with the Elemental Energies I had. But I feel that I am worried about going overboard again."
"Maybe I should have a limiter of some sorts like Midori?" suggested Duncan.
"No... I don't think your power needs to be controlled. You've already mastered the Blood Mastery better than your sister. We created that skill based on a real skill called the Blood Element. I'll show you how it works after dinner or if dinner hasn't been made yet. But moving forward..."
"You've impressed me, and I did not expect to step into this fight. And you've forced me to use my Ancient Relic as an emergency to stop your spell. That Seventh Frame of yours should not be used within the confines of the Old Chapel. I have to explain what happened to Gillian."
"But aside from that, you've done me proud, Duncan. You didn't disrespect Rina in any shape or form. However, you did use more spells than what was instructed, but perhaps you got too engrossed with the duel. You did well on combat skills too."
"As a result, I did not get to see your Blood Mastery or your strongest defense," noted Mavislin.
"I was subtly using my Blood Mastery. Unlike my fellow groupmates, I use my blood to enhance my body's strength, endurance, and flexibility. I normally do not have the energy or skill to pull off the stunts you saw during that fight. I'm not as agile as Nasima."
"But when in an emergency, I can mold my blood to any spell I need at that moment," explained Duncan.
"But I didn't see you get injured? Everyone else needed to get cut first to use their blood, even Midori."
"My Blood Mastery is active the moment I head into battle. I mean, it's called Blood Mastery for a reason. All you need is blood to activate the spell. Since my Blood Mastery isn't an offensive skill, there's no need to splatter it all over the battlefield. And quite frankly..."
"I'd prefer not to waste something precious to me. I don't understand why Midori used so much blood during her duel against Rina," said Duncan.
"So, if you were to bleed, would you actively use your Blood Mastery as an offensive attack, or would you focus on healing first?" asked Mavislin, intrigued.
"It depends on the situation I was in. If my opponent is anything like Rina, I can manipulate my blood to be a defensive spell to get away from the enemy. On the other hand, if I were up against Amani, I would focus on my healing while thinking of another offensive attack."
"Tanks like Amani aren't meant to strike the second time after unleashing such a powerful spell, so I've got a time window where I can recuperate. But quick footers like Rina or Nasima, I need to get out of their range because they rely on quick attacks at close range."
"Even a spear needs time to travel, and if they are wielding it while unleashing quick attacks, I'm safe to say that I would lose the battle quickly. I kept trying to get to the further part of the arena since I knew Rina was great at close combat with a spear," explained Duncan.
The Valkyrie was shocked as Duncan elaborated his situation. Duncan's combat sense and telling of people's fighting styles are quite accurate. Indeed, during the duel against Rina, Duncan was constantly trying to get to further range from the Spearman, much to her confusion.
