"You can use Z's room to research the mission's backstory more. Get permission first before Z klicks you to the area of the mission. It's about the problem in the Briton Domain, ruled by Li Ling. She hasn't written to me about it yet, but I found something amiss at the last District of Briton."
"You should know the area like the back of your hand, so I need you to find out what's happening at the Prisoners' Den. Go on now," instructed Mavislin.
Bryan saluted and hurried back to the Old Chapel to begin his research. The Valkyrie went over to her boyfriend, who looked he had shaken Death's hands. Raiyen opened his eyes for a split second and shook his head.
"Ah, looks like my afternoon is free. I'm going to supervise Rina in the next segment with the children. I've got high hopes for Duncan. I like that kid," said Mavislin, walking towards the Flower Mage and the kids.
Meanwhile, Midori had woken up in a dream that looked confusing to her at first. It wasn't in her memory, not the darkness of the experimental grounds, the sounds of bones being cut, or people crying out for help. The child looked around before looking up into the dusty orange skies.
There were bodies of knights strewn all over the place with swords and spears sticking into their bodies. The dirt from the ground was so stained with blood that everything looked crimson to her. The area was deathly quiet, much to Midori's annoyance. The child stood up with ease.
Midori's eyes widened as she realized her whereabouts and drew to full height. The Battle of Camlann, right at the top of the hill where King Arthur fell. A sudden clang of swords rang throughout the area, making Midori turn in the direction of the sound.
The child went towards the sound and found two knights fighting against each other on the wasted battlefield. They clashed and backed away from each other. One of the knights was Mordred, and the other was a female who had blonde hair and a blue dress with armor.
Both the knights were wielding their swords as they leaped at each other to clash again.
"Look at what I've done because of your rejection to me for the throne. Do you see the destruction I could cause? Your precious kingdom wouldn't have fallen if you had handed the reigns over to me!" roared Mordred, pushing against the unknown female knight.
From its looks, that female knight was the famous King Arthur. Things clicked in the child's head as she realized she was looking at the final battle of Camlann. She also figured this was an illusion, and Midori was a spectator of Mordred's past.
The two knights flew backward after Mordred managed to deflect King Arthur's sword away. Unfortunately, the flying sword landed right beside Midori, much to the shock of the poor girl.
"Is it because I'm a child of a witch? Or is it because of my gender? Why do you hate me so much that you can't even look at me?! Why won't you answer me, Arthur!" yelled Mordred, charging at the King.
The blue knight easily dodged the charge and kicked Mordred at the back, making her fly a few meters away. King Arthur then drew another weapon like a lance and prepared to aim at Mordred. The Knight of Rebellion sensed the impending danger and took her stance.
"I never hated you for any reason. The reason why I didn't give you the title... Was because you didn't have the mentality to be King," said the blue knight as she appeared in front of Mordred in a flash.
As King Arthur plunged the lance into Mordred's abdomen, Mordred took up her sword to pierce King Arthur's chest. The entire scene halted as Time had stopped in the dream. Everything was frozen, leaving Midori to walk towards the two knights.
Midori felt something appearing and turned around to see Mordred without her armor but still holding onto her sword.
"You are right about your prediction, young fox. This is the place where King Arthur fell. Where I finally put an end to my father's reign. I died here as well, stabbed by my father's Holy Lance but not before giving him the finishing blow," explained Mordred, going closer to the child.
Midori backed away in fear which made Mordred halt in her tracks.
"I can't say I blame you for thinking I was a murderer. Everyone in history paints me as so. But I'm here to tell you that I won't be hurting you. And to tell the tale of my short life. The power in my sword is the grudge I held on for so long against my father for not relinquishing the throne to me."
