Mavislin arched forwards, forcing her wings to come out once more. They were huge but not enough to touch the sides of the fighting range. The wings stopped flickering in colors and remained a solid earthy brown color. The Valkyrie plucked out a feather which turned into...
"I didn't expect Mavislin to pull out her Elemental Whips against a small child?! Should we jump in to stop the fight?" asked Ashley, getting worried about the fight below.
"Nope, I'd say leave them to be, Mavislin can control her powers, but Midori can't. If anyone were to interfere now, that person would be torn to shreds by the nails of the Valkyrie. So you guys better not have any ideas. Especially you, Duncan," ordered Baldwin.
"Hey, don't look at me. I'm not going to stop a fight that's worth watching. Even if she is my little sis, it's nice to see her get thrown into order again. Her mouth was the one who caused her punishment, so I'm all up for what Lady Roydon has installed for my sister," replied Duncan.
"After all, my sister has yet to use her chain powers to attack. All she has been doing was throwing random Elemental Energy at Lady Roydon. She isn't using actual spells at all, even against Rina," added Duncan, with a devilish grin.
This kid has got some severe issues on emotions, thought the Angry Man. They then focused back on the Valkyrie and Midori. Mavislin had an Elemental Power Level of a seasoned Mage during the years of the Congregation, and it was shocking for Baldwin to witness.
After fully drawing the whip out from her wings, Mavislin played with the brown whip by twirling it around herself. A hue of brown light surrounded the weapon as Mavislin lowered herself to attack the child. Midori was barely prepared as the Valkyrie shouted out the next spell.
"Terra; Perennial Waltz of Mountains!" shouted Mavislin, coming at Midori with blinding speeds.
Midori closed her eyes and focused on hearing the different slashes of the whip. Before Mavislin could touch the child, Midori tried her best to deflect the wave of cuts in mid-air. But since the turns and strikes of the whip were too fast, Midori was slashed in the process.
This act forced the child to get to higher ground. Midori jumped up and turned her body to strike Mavislin from above by concentrating her blood circulation to rush to her legs. But the Valkyrie wasn't a fool in the world of battles as she caught Midori's stunt in time.
To test if Midori was paying attention, Mavislin used her whip once more, dishing out the same attack as before.
"One, two, three... Twice on six, seven," murmured Midori, figuring the timings of where the whip would turn and hit a surface.
Midori could tell the difference between the hits by hearing all of them once. For example, the sound of 'One' would be the lowest tone out of the whole 'Waltz.' 'Two' would be a pitch higher, and 'Three' was another pitch higher as well.
Then it skips two levels, and 'Six' is being hit twice simultaneously. Then, after the 'Seven' hits, it goes back to striking Six. So the whip would hit the sixth pitch once and go to 'Three' then 'One.'
"Two once, Three twice... Two again and once at One. It ends with another Two again," finished Midori, effectively predicting every hit by hearing the tune of the Waltz.
To Mavislin's pleasant surprise, Midori had shown that she was the best in her aspect of hearing. The child casually missed the whip entirely and bolted straight through to get to Mavislin. The Valkyrie smiled as she pulled back the whip to hit Midori's back, but the child quickly ducked.
This act made the Valkyrie jump up to avoid getting hurt from the whip. As Mavislin landed, she felt the ground trembling as Midori was ready to unleash an Original Spell. Instead, the child's Elemental Aura flared up brilliantly, resembling a large tree, which impressed the Valkyrie.
"No way... Can Midori predict the movements of the whip by only seeing it once? I thought Mavislin was messing around with her whip, throwing random slashes. I never expect the child to predict the attacks so easily..." commented Bryan, mesmerized by the battle below.
"Midori's aspect isn't sight... That's Circe's unique power. Midori has an acute sense of hearing, and she can predict movements by hearing the sound of joints moving and weapons cutting wind. My sister can even hear the sound of a human's blood circulating in their body at close range."
Bryan turned to look at Duncan with bewildered eyes and tilted his head to the side.
"So she heard the movements being performed once, and she could dodge every one of it?"
