Chapter 477 - The Ark Of Swordsman Vs Spearman

"No way! Minwoo has been looking for that katana all his life! So how could she be wielding it?! And in pristine condition as well! And it's the first time I've seen it in person... It looks so beautiful," exclaimed Ashley, with tears threatening to come out.

"Are you alright there, buddy?!" asked Z as he was stunned to see Ashley tearing up.

"What's so great about that sword? I know it's a katana, but it looks quite plain compared to the weapons I've seen. So what's the fuss?" asked the Headmaster.

"Japan's greatest swordsmith, Masamune, made that katana. Even the Emperor of Japan made this person into his chief swordsmith. So it's called Honjo Masamune, one of the swordsmith's greatest and finest works. The most durable blade he has ever forged."

"If you want more information about this, you should ask either Raiyen or Tomoe. They've got a better understanding of how rare this katana is. And take note of the wavy line on the blade. It's a surefire way to know that Masamune made it," explained Ashley, pointing to the katana.

"With the right swordsman, that blade can take on an entire army if the user wanted to."

"That's absurd! Look at how thin and frail that blade is! One punch can break it!" said Z, in disbelief.

Midori held up the blade to her shoulders' height as a single leaf dropped from a low-branched tree. The sharp edge was faced up as the leaf was sliced into two when it fell on the blade. Ashley held onto a smirk as Midori sprang into action and towards Rina.

"Let's see what this lady can do with the legendary blade of Japan," spoke Ashley.

The Spearman Pillar summoned her spear in the nick of time and clashed with the quick child. Her eyes remained glowing as the two exchanged more blows at the other's weapon. As per Ashley's earlier observation, the katana Midori wielded was not rusty or chipped anymore.

Midori leaped away from Rina and jumped from a root to another branch before striking Rina from above. The Flower Mage used her spear to block the attack, but Midori quickly kicked Rina in the jaw. The kick made Rina fly towards her left side and slammed her body onto a tree.

Z and Gillian looked at each other before looking at Ashley to confirm what had just ensued. But what made everyone scared was the expression on her face. A blank stare as if her body had been taken over by someone else.

"Don't look at me! I just came here barely half an hour ago! And I did tell you, that blade has got the best durability history has ever seen," protested Ashley, raising both hands in surrender.

All three grown men focused on Midori, standing still on a moss-covered rock. Now it was Rina's turn to strike as she recovered from the last attack. The Butterfly Mage jumped and thrust her spear towards the unmoving child. Midori finally moved and blocked the spear using the sheath.

Rina was surprised as the sheath could handle the force of her spear. Hence, Rina was thrown off guard when Midori turned her body in a full circle to strike the spear. The exchange happened instantly, and Rina found herself flying towards another tree.

Midori wasn't as kind as before as she propelled herself to follow Rina and both clashed again. Midori's power in her jump was enough to split the rock she was standing on in half. The two girls' clashes were lightning-fast for the audience's eyes to witness.

Rina knew she had to break free from the current spot; a kid was backing her up! The Butterfly Girl purposely dodged one of the strikes by ducking down. Unfortunately, Midori sliced the tree in a horizontal cut on the trunk. While the tree fell, Rina made her escape.

Rina had retreated to the back of the falling tree and tried to strike at Midori. All while using the falling tree as a cover and distraction. But to her utter horror, Midori sliced through the fallen tree, intending to clash with Rina's spear.

The child didn't even blink as the halves of the tree fell at her side. Nasima hugged Circe tightly as the fight started getting severe. Circe lightly patted Nasima's head.

"That kid's got skills. I can tell that she would be the First Seat Swordsman Pillar. She's got good command on both footing and blade," noted Ashley, with a proud grin.

"Ahem. All five of these kids haven't undergone training yet. They shouldn't have any skill in combat or knowledge of the blade. That's why Mavislin arranged to train the kids. If we'd known, we wouldn't have gone through the hassle to plan everything out," replied Gillian, shaking his head.
