Mavislin nodded and focused on supporting Raiyen. Just a few hours ago, Raiyen had just finished rearranging all the fragmented Time Frames and classified them as per their Time. This took up the entire afternoon since he had to use Time Ripper to send the excess back to their Time.
He kept a few to make the spell, despite Mavislin being confused as to why they couldn't just use all of it for their spell. When that part was done, Mavislin turned into a child and ran about the area. Raiyen slumped down, underneath a large tree to get some rest.
He peeked at Mavislin, who was busy chasing a very large butterfly as smaller ones tagged along beside her. She giggled happily as she finally caught the butterfly, plopping down onto the grass to see the insect she had caught. Her head cocked to the side, trying to see the butterfly's wings.
The rest of the small butterflies hovered around her. The large butterfly sprang out of her palms and landed on her nose. She laughed once more, seeing the butterfly gracefully on the tip of her nose. She then laid down, sprawled on the grass floor, with both her hands stretched out.
Raiyen closed his eyes and opened them again. This time, he saw streams of golden light dancing around Mavislin, and eventually, he noticed that the streams were connected to her. He smiled and looked at his palms. Streams of golden Elemental Energy were coming out of his fingertips.
"So this is how she gathers Elemental Energy. From my experience, I thought it would be more painful than this. But this... Feels so calm and tranquil. Especially knowing that a child is absorbing my thoughts of positivity and happiness..." mumbled Raiyen, with a smile on his face.
All of sudden, Raiyen froze as he saw what Mavislin was doing. Her arms were stretched outwards, her hands were waving as if she was playing with the streams of light and butterflies in front of her. His eyes widened as another image or memory overlapped his sight.
But it wasn't looking at someone else doing that action, it was him, doing that same action. Arms stretched, waving at someone from a lying-down perspective. It was like the child wanted to be picked up by this unknown person in the vision.
He clenched his fists, trying to get that memory back. But it was too late, fading away with the gentle breeze that Raiyen felt back in the present time. He took in a deep breath, trying to figure out who that was and why he was panicking. He can't let her see him in this condition.
Perhaps it was Mavislin's memory, since she had been passing quite a fair bit of Elemental Energy to him. He read about that aspect somewhere in Gillian's logbooks, that memories can be translated from Elemental Energy. And why it was important not to channel too much at one go.
After a few more minutes, Mavislin sparng back to her teenage form and punced on Raiyen, who was still in a daze.
"You're back to full tank?" asked Raiyen, shocked by Mavislin's jump.
"Full... Tank?"
"Ah, sorry. What I meant to ask was have you restored enough Elemental Energy to get through the next part? It won't be as strenous as earlier but just to be safe, you should have a full amount of Elemental Energy within you."
"Hmph!" said Mavislin, nodding proudly.
An hour passed after the shockwave, Raiyen took a step back with the progress he made. It was the most he could do for now. He had already engraved the appearance of the walls and windows of the outer buildings into his mind.
The ones left were the second blocks and main building, which he has yet to see. The outer blocks totaled ten and it took them quite a while, despite not having any outstanding things to remember. Raiyen was beginning to feel exhaustion creeping up on him, despite the power he had been given.
He turned to look at his partner, who was still channeling Elemental Power into him. A small gesture signaled Mavislin to halt.
"Well, let's get back. It's getting dark soon. Gil will kill me if we aren't there before dinner," said Raiyen.
Mavislin sighed as she took in a deep breath and inhaled the scent of the area. The whiff of blood, sadness, and victory wafted through her nose. And a little bit of happiness and curiosity, though it wasn't from Tomoe or Bryan. The Valkyrie smiled as she heard the faint giggles of Kai and Rina.
"We should get going, I'm afraid Tomoe might need my help. Z said he was going to be home late so best get back quick," replied Mavislin, extending her adult wings.
