He then held it up and dangled it in front of Bryan before it glowed and returned to its normal state.
"You sneaky little boy... I had no idea that your legs were that powerful... Did you use Magecraft to enhance them? Or have you got armor under that skin of yours?" asked Tomoe, dusting himself.
"No... I was just born with these legs. Ever since I could remember, my legs have been my weapon against human foes."
Tomoe raised his eyebrow at the Slayer. The fox then shut his eyes and faced Bryan. The boy's Elemental Aura was shining, especially around his lower legs.
"I have no clue if you are aware but you're using your Aura as a shield to protect your legs. That's why I thought for a second that you were using armor but you're just concentrating your Aura to heighten the physical endurance of your legs," explained Tomoe.
"Well, I was told by someone that concentrating my Aura at a certain part of my body would enhance its endurance. It was also a way to control my Aura to prevent giving myself away," replied Bryan.
"That person must be knowledgeable in the realm of Magecraft, not many Mages know of this fact... It's like a little cheat code for Human Mages since your bodies aren't as strong as Mages such as the Bahamuts or Valkyries."
"Then I'm glad that I've got that cheat code."
"It will be just useless information if the person can't take the physical or Elemental strain with that technique. Keep in mind you are still human, there's still a ceiling in how far your powers can go," warned Tomoe.
"Then I will shatter the ceiling and your expectations of us Humans. You talk us down a lot... But you have no idea how unpredictable we are. We, humans, are intransigent when encountered with the impossible. And you should be ashamed for thinking so lowly of us."
Bryan launched himself and appeared in front of Tomoe. While still hovering above the grass floor, Bryan administered two mighty kicks to both sides of Tomoe's torso. Without the protection of the fans, Tomoe would have sustained major injuries.
Each kick was solid, with the impact powerful enough to be felt by the inhabitants of the Old Chapel. Tomoe ducked and got out of the way when he noticed Bryan preparing for another kick. Behind Tomoe was a very large and old oak tree. No way a human could... Right?
Tomoe could not believe it when Bryan issued the last kick. Not only did it smash the oak tree without any hindrance, the shockwave was tenacious enough to take down the tree surrounding it. Baldwin's jaw nearly dropped, never in his life he'd seen a human do that.
"How are your legs not broken?!"
Bryan resumed his stance but had his sword position at a foreign angle. Instead of using both hands to grip the handle and positioning at his lower body, Bryan was now holding the sword with only his right hand.
And the sword was positioned above his right shoulder, a few inches away from his face. The blade's tip was pointed outwards and towards the enemy. Within Baldwin's eyes, he assumed that the position Bryan was in was called a Parry stance.
But upon closer inspection, Baldwin retracted that thought as Bryan's blade was too straight to do so. And he was sure that Bryan didn't need to defend himself when his main objective was to destroy. It was an Ochs stance, an attack aimed for the head or throat of the enemy.
Not only it was a stance that can strike with one swift blow, it can counter side blows as well since the blade was protecting Bryan's head. Baldwin was astonished since he had not expected Bryan to use a Longsword stance when he was using a katana.
Without another second to waste, Bryan vanished from his spot and appeared in front of Tomoe, scaring the Kitsune. He then unleashed a flurry of attacks, thrusting his sword at different places of the opened metal fans.
Initially, Tomoe only wanted one to go up against this sudden attack but he thought twice and pulled out both instead. To sum it up, Tomoe was being pushed back. Bryan's blade and arm were nearly invisible at the sheer speed of the attack.
Even Baldwin had a hard time seeing what was going on. But the Angry Man managed to crack a smile as he witnessed the scene before him.
"Mavislin may be the last one to gather her group but I am duly impressed that the ones she has invited are powerful and worthy of my praise. First, it was Ashley. And now, this boy... I've yet to see that Butterfly Girl in action," said Baldwin.
