"Alright then, I trust that you can take care of it by yourselves. Let's hear from the Blizzard Faction, what would you be doing for the whole week, Z?" asked Gillian, looking at the Peanut.
"The Blizzard Faction has been getting reports about something brewing around the seas of the other side of the world. I've sent out troops to gather information but they came back empty-handed. All they could find was one common thing; 'The Trench Of The Ocean'."
"On the previous mission, I've asked Raiyen for help but we did not find anything useful either."
"My Vigilante has used up about five Mages to find the information. They are my elites so when they came back empty-handed, we knew that something was up. And most likely, I would have wanted to mobilize more Mages to help out, but we risk them getting hurt."
Raiyen recalled that the previous mission had demanded information about the odd sightings but all held no harm to the Mages. It was only the humans that were directly affected.
"Why are we concerning ourselves with this mission if the evidence suggests that the creatures sighted are not hostile? Don't you think we would be prodding into someone or something else's territory? We could risk another war," asked Gillian, staring right at Z.
"Because I have been to that Trench if this world links up to the world that I came from. If so, then we should attack before they can fully impact us. The creatures from there, from what I know, are not to be messed with. Even Mages stood no chance against them," replied Z.
The atmosphere changed as Z's voice became worrisome and stern. There was a worrying feeling that blanketed the room, making Clement slightly bit uncomfortable as he finished his breakfast in silence. But when he heard about the 'The Trench Of The Ocean', he had to add in something.
"Sorry to disturb, but that Trench is considered to be one of the lowest depths of this planet. It is home to many of the unknown creatures of the deep. And, Albion has also reported that the seafood from there is slightly odd..." added Clement, as he nervously raised his hand.
"Do tell us more. We need every information we can get," asked Z, finally having a thread he can tug onto.
"Wouldn't your knowledge of the other world be enough?" asked Clement, looking confused.
"I was born in the year 2000 in that world. It's Earth but in another Universe. By that time, the damage had already been done and most of the island had sunk because of the rising water levels. But before I was exiled, the last thing I saw was Japan being engulfed by the Trench."
"I know about some folklores on my side of things since I was born in the Philippines. But these sightings do not match with what I had been told before. Thus, any help from witnesses would be a good stepping stone for this mission," explained Z.
"The seafood that came out from that place is either foreign or just p[lain monstrous. I'm talking about giant squids, mutilated fish, and weird creatures that could petrify a human. To be more specific, we just found an octopus creature but it looked big-sized," explained Clement.
"Like him?" asked Baldwin, jumping on the chance to insult Z.
"Uhh... No, since it was as long as a small newborn child. And another was a fish whose entire head was see-through. We called it the 'Spook fish' since it was freaky. And lastly, we've got a little Octopus that swallowed my friend's fishing boat whole. We instantly threw it back into the ocean."
Raiyen and Mavislin blinked a few times at what Clement had just revealed. And Z had wide, open eyes of bewilderment and shock.
"What kind of a monster is that?! We aren't just gonna flash by what you just told us. The Octopus, when you found it, how big was it?" asked Z, still trying to figure out what the human was saying.
"You should ask how small it was. It was barely my finger's length long. And the next I knew after turning my back on the fishing port, that Octopus had grown drastically in size. It engulfed my friend and his boat by extending out its arms with skin in between."
"It then shrunk back to its normal size. After seeing that, I wasn't taking any chances and threw it back into the ocean," explained Clement, still shook at the memory of that frightful day.
"That's a Koromodako, otherwise known as a 'Cloth Octopus'. It is from Japanese folklore," said Tomoe, coming into the meal with Bryan.
Clement got up to serve the two men their food while they find a place to sit down.
