Chapter 227 - The Ark Of Bryan's Element

"Who are you?" chimed the two.

"That was mean... Anyways, Minwoo sent me to find you two. But the priority was still the Valkyrie. He'd said you lot would need my help. Though, that was a few months back... And I can't seem to find him. But at least I found the Valkyrie," explained Bryan, pointing at Mavislin.

The Valkyrie felt a wave of sadness wash over her face at the mere mention of Minwoo. There others that she had to kill but none had such a lasting effect as the death of the late Marquess. Ashley felt the girl's change in mood and quickly answered this man.

"He's gone, he lost his life during the conflict between the Umbras," replied Ashley.

"Him? Well, I guess he is still human so he can't do much. Poor dude. But no worries, I'll still help you, even if my master is dead. So I guess, I'll be serving you, Lady Roydon," said Bryan, kneeling down to Mavislin.

"Don't talk my brother down just because he's human. He could kick your behind withtout breaking a sweat and still hold Mavis in his arms," scolded Ashley.

The Valkyrie seemed both touched and amazed. Since Valkyries have excellent memories, she remembered the time that both brothers were at each others' necks. To hear Ashley stand up for his brother in such a way made the girl feel happy.

"Calm down, I'm well-aware about my master's potential in killing me. But my point still stands, my message as well. I'm sent here to report on behlf on the late Marquess. To help the Arks. Until I'm able to find an opening to kill the Corrupted One."

"What makes you think that you can help us defeat that thing?" asked Ashley, skeptical about his help.

"Now that I think about it, you're that sibling that went against the Marquess family, right? You led the revolt against the Mages a few years ago, even causing chaos on the streets. You were the infamous outcast. What are you doing helping Mages?"

"Answer my question, it's more pressing," replied Ashley, slowly getting irritated.

"Fine," replied Bryan, smiling as he took out a single crystal ball.

Both parties were skeptical and confused when Bryan that ball into the air and caught it. Power soon flowed from within his Elemental Core to the crystal ball.

"Symbol of Ganymede, Water carrier of the Gods..." chanted Bryan as his Aura came into fruition.

His eyes had now changed from black to gold, much like how Mavislin's eyes would reeact when using her Valkyrian powers. His Aura was gold with a white hue, surrounding his slender figure as well as the crystal ball.

But as soon as he uttered the first half of the chant, the Aura around the crystal ball became ocean blue.

"Aquarius, Stars Of The Waterbearer!" yelled the man as he threw out the ball once more.

The Symbol of the astral sign of Aquarius appeared on both the ball and the area in front of it. The symbol then turned into a giant torrent of water, that came crashing down onto the village below. It was tsunami-sized, if not larger.

"You imbecile!" shouted Ashley as the oncoming wave was going to hit them.

Ashley was about to throw out his shield once more but was stopped by a bored Valkyrie. Mavislin, looking very tired of fixing rookie mistakes and still deep in thought about how to win the fight, simply waved off tthe oncoming tsunami.

With a mere flick of her hand, the spell got dissipated in an instant.

"I'll applaud your power. But it is such a shame that it's being held by a Human instead of a Galaxian-born Mage. Unless you've got a back up Element or move, you won't even make a dent onto the Corrupted One."

Her words as well as tone were blunt and harsh but it was the truth. Bryan shrugged it off as he murmured anotyher small spell. A strike of light came down and destroyed the area just beside Mavislin.

"How about now? I use the Element Of the Stars to my advantage. That is only such a small onuce of power used and yet caused so much. Both Aquarius and that shot of light are merely nothing."

"Yes, they are merely nothing to me as well. The most you can help is being target practise for him or decoy," said Mavislin, harshly.

"Don't sweat it, I'll have a trump card up my sleeve. I know my bounds but I know where I can be in the battlefield to pack a punch," explained Bryan.

"At least, a Hybrid is not that difficult to train compared to Humans learning Magecraft. In due time, you can be useful."

"So, do I pass the test?" asked Bryan.
