Chapter 31 - The Ark Of The Partners In Crime

After a few days, the Time Boy and Valkyrie found themselves around the nearby village, the one area that was still occupied by humans.

"I don't like them..." murmured the Valkyrie, shyly hiding behind Raiyen.

He smirked at the child. Just days ago she was able to kill a mob. And now she's afraid of humans.

"Don't worry. They don't like us either."

Raiyen's eyes lit up as he acquired a great idea. He glanced at the frightened Valkyrie with beaming eyes.

"Let's go disturb them!" whispered the Time Boy, excitedly.

"But..."

"If you don't face your fears and make fun of them, then how are you able to overcome it? Come on, it'll be fun."

With that being said, the Time Mage dragged the poor girl right into the village. They were quite hidden, due to the small alleyways around. They then spotted the heart of the village.

An open area with a stone water fountain. All around that were chatting humans and little children running about. Mavislin smiled as she wanted to take a step out of the shadows, wanting to join the children to play.

But reality snapped back at her when Raiyen pulled her back.

"The adults will recognize us."

"But they haven't met us yet!" protested Mavislin, stomping her foot.

"But they've met me," replied Raiyen.

Raiyen sighed and scanned the area. He then closed his eyes and touched a building wall.

"Hm... There are some vines within the crevices of this wall. I'll use it to spook someone," explained Raiyen, smiling mischievously.

"You won't hurt them, right?" asked Mavislin, peeking out.

"Don't worry, it's just a bit. Watch me," said the Time Mage, placing a green Aura within the wall.

All of a sudden, a young woman screamed. The townsfolk immediately swarmed her. She looked like a circus act, she was suspended in midair by a vine that was coiled around her ankle. Due to the position, her undergarment was left for everyone to see.

Most of the men blushed while the other women tried their best to help the poor lady. But whenever anyone touches the vines, they got a shock. The kids were left laughing at the comical scene, including Raiyen and Mavislin.

"Now, watch this," said Raiyen, amping up the fun.

He summoned some more vines and started a tickle fest amongst the swarm of people. Mavislin giggled, wanting to show off some of her tricks as well.

"Can I try?" asked Mavislin, giving her signature pouting face.

Raiyen looked around. What harm could such a small girl do? She's not being insulted or anything, so letting try her powers should be fine. And, what harm could such a little one do with the Element of Light? He then stopped his spell of growing vines. The villagers heaved a sigh of relief.

"Go ahead. Don't freak them out too much, or kill someone," instructed Raiyen, carefully giving the Valkyrie the spotlight.

She then pointed at the fountain with her small hand. Her eyes, from brown, turned to aquamarine. Her Elemental Aura shifted as well, from the Light Element to the Water Element. It was not visible to humans but it shone like a beacon towards Mages.

"Cascada," whispered Mavislin as she let out a tsunami of water from the fountain.

It was as if someone had added a million gallons of water into a tiny cup. The water decimated the area, sending the villages to the perimeters of the village. The screams and shouts would draw unnecessary attention, so Raiyen knew he had to do something quickly.

"Time Glitch; Reverse The Shift!" shouted Raiyen, among the chaos.

He aimed his palm at the fountain, which kept producing water. All of a sudden, it froze. And the water from outside was pulled back into the fountain. Like someone collecting back a long rope. The villagers, soaked to the bone, looked at the scene in astonishment.

"What on earth happened?!" yelled a villager.

"I can tell you that's no way that can happen on earth," replied a husky old man.

Raiyen gulped in nervousness as he tried his best to hide both him and Mavislin from the villagers. He ended up freezing the fountain and he didn't know how to unfreeze it. Grabbing the girl, he glitched away and back into the forest.

"I'm sowwy..." said mavislin, tugging onto Raiyen's shirt.

"Sorry? Why?" asked Raiyen, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I overdid it..." muttered the young Valkyrie.

Tears were starting to form at the corners of the small child's eyes. She gave a soft whimper.

"You were amazing! I didn't know you could control Water as well!"

Mavislin looked at him with widened eyes.

"You not angry?"

"Why would I? I had no idea Valkyries can use Elements other than Light!"
