Precious was screwing the bolt on the luxury spaceship. She busied herself into her work while other people around her did so too. After she was done, she wiped her palm across her forehead. Her hair clung to the back of her neck. She grabbed it and put it over her right shoulder. She sat on a bench and grabbed her water bottle.
"10 minutes! 10 minutes to board the Luxury Midnight cruise 49!" She heard a man yell. People were lined up to board it, from what looked like newborns, to a great grandma or grandpa. She saw the man scan a mother and her daughters eyes, as it beeped with clarification of their identity, they walked up the ramp into the spaceship.
"Mum, I'm bored!" The girl said as they boarded. Precious rolled her eyes. She noticed something slip out of her backpack. It coincidentally floated and landed besides Precious's foot. She grabbed it, and examined it. It glittered when you tilted it just right towards the lights. It had anime like girl with two pink pigtails coming out, she was eating something like a pocky stick on it, and she was winking at you with these these rainbow eyes. It made her snort.
"Yuri-Mei." She muttered, reading beneath the picture. Suddenly pictures and info about Yuri-Mei popped up in her eyes. She sent the sites away, annoyed and looked at the card again. She let out a small 'pft' and looked somewhere to put it. She couldn't find somewhere, she stuffed it into her pocket. Suddenly she heard music play. The luxury ship, whatever it was called must be leaving. She looked and saw the ramp was closed. The loud sound of engines roared over the music. The roof opened, and the view never failed to steal her breath away. The endless expanses of space. The swirls and splashes of colours. All sprinkled over with stars, that winked at you. And earth. The swirls of fluffy white clouds, the vast blue oceans, and the dull, yet beautiful colour of green. She loved this moment, and cherished the moments she got to look at her beautiful universe. Mesmerised, she watched the spaceship blast off into space smoothly. The roof was closing but she couldn't take her eyes off space. She stretched her neck to the sides to catch the last glimpse of space before it fully closed. Thud. It closed. She let out a big breath, realising she had been holding her breath. Rubbing her aching sides, she let out a sigh.
"Jason, please meet my daughter, Rose." She heard Mr. Jantepor say. She looked up, and saw a boy. He was handsome, he had brown hair the was slicked back and he was wearing a tuxedo. He had a chiselers jaw and his eyes were brown. But she saw a girl enter. Her breath snagged. She was stunning. She felt her heart thump. The girl was wearing a colourful dress that bursted with colour.
It covered all her skin, besides her face of course. It looked like heavy silk, but it flounced like clouds. She had beautiful, straight, fire red hair, that looked like water. Her eyes were the unnatural colour of a ripe green grape. Precious felt blood rush into her cheeks, and warning signs popped up into her vision, warning her to cool down, but she sent them away annoyed. When the boy and girls eyes clash, she noticed the boy stood a little straighter, and the girl smiled a little more flirtatiously.
"Jason, would you care to show my daughter Rose around and give her a tour?" Mr. Jantepor asked.
"O-of course." He said, and he beckoned at Rose with his hands. Her guts tightened when she saw the girl giggled and let him lead her away. She sat there and gulped down the rest of her water, white dots sparking in her vision. She was a bit jealous, well really jealous. She realised she had sat there for a long time and it was break time. She saw Jason and Rose laughing in the training room by the deep tank of water where astronauts practised. She heard a scream. And thousands followed after it. She saw a ship falling. A rope had snapped. The rope swing around the whole place, it cut through walls easily. She saw it break through the practice room and saw Rose fall back into the water. The roped swung up through the roof of the room and stopped with a thud, hitting another ship, though dealing great damage to it.
"No!" A shriek tore out of her throat. In a split second she running towards the practice room. She had never ran so fast, everything past her in a blur. She jumped through the broken window and past the frantic Jason and dived into the water. The water pulled her down. She was so stupid. She was a cyborg, her insides were all artificial, and metal. And she couldn't swim. But she didn't care, and ignored the warnings popping up rapidly in her eyes. She swam down and grabbed rose and swam upwards. Rose was like dead weight, pulling her downwards. She refused to let this kill them both. She would never die so pathetically, and let dear Rose drown. She swam upwards, determined. Her limbs ache, b she kept going up. She saw people peering down the pool above her. She broke through the surface. She took in desperate thirsty breaths, and with the rest of her strength push Roses body onto land. She tried to pull herself to safety, but before she could haul herself out, her arm betrayed her, and she lost connection to it. She fell backwards into the water. She closed her eye and heard people scream. Shutting down power cell. 11 PERCENT.....27 PERCENT..... she saw, despite the darkness. Bubbles spilled out her mouth and her hair swathed around her head. She let the water drag her down, letting the the lull of the dull waves above her to comfort her as she fell and spiralled into darkness.
