I woke up, my back was sore, I had survived yet another day. But I was feeling anxious, there was a weird feeling in my gut telling me to get a move on, so I did just that. I discarded my plans to stay here, I rolled up my leaf bed and tied it with a flexible stick, I also got a bundle of sticks. All of that went on my back, I tied the bed and the bundle together with sticks and wore it like a backpack, of course my grandiose and magnificent spear was in my hand.
I returned to my original plan of finding water. Because If I do end up finding a river or a lake I could set up a base nearby, food wouldn't be an issue any more, all animals need water to survive, right? I hope this world's creatures do, but can't be too sure about that with that weird substance in the air. I'm going to give it a temporary name: maka, short for makamashi means energy in some language if I remember correctly. That should be a good enough name for now. Now onward on my great adventure.
I set off on my heroic adventure, the small feeling of dread slowly leaving my body, the farther I got from that spot. I walked opposite of my temp camp for about 800 meters, when I noticed new wildlife around me, new trees, some flowers, bushes, sadly no berries. Furthermore, I saw some mushrooms that looked like horse mushrooms, I picked some and made a bundle of mushrooms which I connected to my "backpack" with a flexible stick. Walking further, I saw the beauty and wonder of nature, a giant bird eating spider destroying as you guessed a bird in a 1v1 fight. As all things that are here, the spider was also bigger than the already big bird eating spiders, its body was about 30 cm in length. What's it with this place and making everything big, wonder if I'm going to get bigger as well? I kept talking to myself while I took a detour around the spider, r.i.p mister bird, but I'm not messing with no spider.
My uneventful adventure continued till night knocked on my door, I laid out my bed and made myself a fire, it only took me a quick half-hour. I also made the heat rebound wall of sticks, and went to sleep again leaning on a tree.
------Day 4
So god-damn sore, can't this fantasy trees be made of soft duck feathers???.
I woke up right as the sun was coming up, my body still wasn't used to the very luxorius and comfortable, living situations of a wild man. I quickly got my stuff in order, did a few stretches, some breathing exercises, to grow or stimulate the maka in my body.
Likewise, I kept moving in the same direction as last time. My adventure was still uneventful, no new things were discovered, no new animals around me, no water. Life's tough and I'm hungry.
Those caterpillars do be looking real juicy, but I don't want to repeat the centipede incident. I had to settle for some mushrooms. I had stored some coals so starting a fire was easier than last time, I used my godly cooking skills to make the best mushroom dish in existence. A mushroom kebab and did it taste good, the second-best meal out of the three I had since I got here.
After getting satiated, I kept moving, I could almost smell the river water. That's obviously a lie, there was only forest around, for kilometres, probably. Staying motivated ain't easy in this kind of situation, thankfully the fear of death is a pretty good motivator.
I walked till nightfall, set up my temp base and went to sleep, walking without eating well was pretty tiring. At this point, I had probably walked 15-20 km from my first base. Still, there was no water in sight.
Sweet dreams for now.
------Day 5
I woke up, packed up and got my move on.
I walked around 2 km when I found a young tree, that had branches pretty low down, low enough for me to climb. I mustered up my best climbing skills, channelled my monkey ancestors, put down my stuff and started climbing. I quickly reached the peak and looked around, that's when I saw on my northwest a river. I screamed in happiness, got down from the tree and started walking right towards it.
In a couple of hours I was close enough to hear the river churning, my heart was thumping so loudly, I was extremely excited, just thinking about drinking that tasteless colourless nectar of the gods, oooh was it giving me the chills. While thinking about this, I got close to the river. Tunnel vision activated, and I rushed straight towards it, plunging my head into the sweet and cold river water, drinking through every hole on my face. A couple of seconds after I felt a bit satisfied, I looked around and saw the most hideous creature on this planet a few meters from me, a freaking centipede, a bit bigger than the last one.
— F**k, I dropped the spear while running here. Don't you move, you freakish many legged bastard.
I did my best RPG roll towards the spear, got it in my hand, the centipede also got my foot in its disgusting mouth. I kicked it in the face with my other leg, quickly got up, but the centipede lunged at me again now at my abdomen. Now I had a centipede sitting on me, and I started wrestling the centipede. It was going for my neck, but I had a ninja ancestor(I think) so I was able to dodge, on one of its attacks I stuck the handle of my spear in its mouth. I let go of the spear and grabbed its head, got on its back and twisted the head. Yet another centipede off my kill list.
I flopped on the ground, next to me a dead centipede. I spent a few seconds like that, and I got up to grab the spear, it had survived, the stupid centipede hadn't used its acid, or that would have been a very bad day or my funeral.
I splashed some water on my face, gathered my stuff that had scattered around while I was fighting, after that I dismantled the centipede. Furthermore, I went a bit farther away from the river and set up a campfire.
Laid out my leaf bed and sat down, in front of me was the campfire, on my right the centipede meat and parts. On my left the spear, behind me a cacxvi. I grabbed one of the centipedes body plates, I cut up the centipede meat and put it on my new centi-pan, I also added some cut up mushrooms to it and cooked it. Hmm, the great food that I made, some slightly mushroom tasting bug meat.
Sighhh---- life is hard, man.
Night came, and I went to sleep, my body didn't get hurt too much, mostly bruises and small cuts on my foot(I of course wrapped the wounds with some grass)
Goodnight.
