Shoichi rushed to the station to take a train to his workplace. Actually, he is working as an assistant for a writer whose pen name is Shirokami which actually means white hair.
15 minuste later, Shoichi's train arrived, as soon he is about to get on the train, a man suddenly tapped on his shoulder.
"Good morning, Shoichi-kun." Said a white haired man.
"Huh? Huh! Shirokami-san, why are you here?" Shoichi is shocked that this employer suddenly appears from nowhere.
"Let's do some research in the central area in the city, I'm going to write a new book about mobile games. Let's gather up some materials!" Said Shirokami. Shoichi nodded and the two traveled to the shopping district. The area is often crowded, plus it's Christmas soon, the streets are already decorated to welcome the festival.
The only difference is, the new mobile game that people are talking about, Demon Summoner, makes the area filled with demons, changing the atmosphere slightly. Shoichi noticed something strange, demons are avoiding them, they seemed scared, and move away from Shoichi and Shirokami.
"Shirokami-san, do you actually "see" the things?" Asked Shoichi politely. Shirokami shook his head, the two continued walking around, while Shoichi is a bit bored, he turned on his phone, a notification appeared. "Your contract is ready" it says.
Unsure of what it does, Shoichi tapped on the screen, a demon appeared in front of him, it's a Goblin. The Goblin is small and cute. He interacted with the Goblin for a while, he enjoyed it. Shoichi decides to call him something. "Let's call you Koko!" He whispered himself. Shirokami called Shoichi from afar, asking him to follow him.
22th of December 2017, 01:00 p.m.
The whether turns warm, Shirokami suddenly talked about the mobile game.
"Shoichi, how is the game? Is it fun?"
"Yeah, it feels kind of real and exciting!" Shoichi replied, with a grin on his face. Shirokami smiles and stood up. He began walking towards the entrance, it seems like he is already done with his material gathering. On their way, a teenager boy wearing a hoodie appeared before them.
"... Let's begin... Oni..." The boy murmured himself. A huge demon appeared before them. Wait, this one looks different, why is a demon suddenly that huge? Something's off, the Oni started moving and swings his weapon to a pillar of the shopping district, the pillar broke and some shattered glass falls from above, it's very dangerous. Shirokami and Shoichi quickly run and hide in shops around.
The Oni continued to attack anything in sight, the decorations are ruined, screams never stop filling the air. A balloon flew over, along with the noises of a child's shoe making sounds when walking. The atmosphere suddenly quiets down, the Oni also stopped rampaging. The balloon stops on the Oni's chest, The Oni popped the balloon. A little girl then cries.
"... So... So Noisy!" The hooded boy shouted. The Oni raised his arm, preparing to deliver a death blow to the girl. Since it seems to be able to destroy the building, it seems like demons like that will actually kill a little girl like that. The crowd screams, calling the girl to run. It's obvious that she couldn't see the threat in front of her. She kept crying, until a woman who seemed like her mother called out her name.
"Hana... Hana, run!" Cried the mother. Shoichi couldn't do anything, but to witness such a cruelty to take place, Shirokami suddenly uttered something.
"If his demons can cause damage, that would mean your's would do too, no? If yes, we might be able to fight it. Go, Shoichi-kun, show them who's the boss." Shoichi nods and shouts at the Oni.
"Hey, stop it!" The crowd quieted down, the hooded boy turns to him, the boy seems confused.
"Huh...? You... wanna fight?" Said the boy, while commanding his Oni to attack Shoichi. Shoichi summoned Koko, and prompted a shockwave.
Whooosh!
"Huh? What is this?" Shoichi is confused. It seems like his smartphone emitted some sort of waves when demons appeared. "Could this be a "PVP" battle system?" Shoichi thought. Koko is agile and swift, it avoided all attacks from the Oni, but its offensive stats aren't high enough to hurt Oni.
"Huh... Go, Brute Rampage...!' The hooded boy said, the Oni attacks its surroundings savagely, one of the attacks hit Koko, Koko is defeated instantly. Shoichi witnessed Koko's gruesome death as the Oni pulverized Koko's dead body. He falls on the ground out of fear.
"You... Die... Become Apostle's food..." The Oni prepares to attack Shoichi directly, Shoichi is just sitting there, unable to move due to fear. On his smartphone screen, a notification appeared. It says "Sign a new contract?". Shoichi looked at the notification and tapped the screen nervously. He tapped in between the "Yes" and "No" button. The notification disappeared, Shoichi thought he tapped "No", but the Oni is suddenly sliced into pieces and collapsed.
