"I heard the version of what took place from two eye witnesses, but I want to hear from the both of you what actually took place. Any attempt to conceal the truth will be met with harsh punishment!"
Tian Min folded his arms across his chest and glared at the police officer with disdain, while speaking to the other man through gritted teeth, "I called my ex so that we can start all over, I simply don't see the reason why the police has to meddle into our private lives!"
The officer turned to Liu Rachael, without batting an eye he asked her to give her own version of the story.
"Officer Song, Good evening. My name is Liu Rachael and I am sorry that you had to be called to settle the quarrel that I and my former boyfriend had, he called me on the phone saying that he had something important to discuss. Only for me to get here and that was when he said he wanted us to get back together again."
Liu Rachael spoke calmly to the officer which was the total opposite of what she was feeling inside of her, rather she wanted to yell at the top of her voice and rain curses on him for disrespecting her out in the open under the watchful eyes of many.
"Mr Tian, Miss Liu. The both of you will have to follow me to the station for further questioning until I can get get your stories straight!"
The police officer took out handcuffs from his back pocket, going from one to the other to place them on the wrist of Tian Min and Liu Rachael.
"But Officer! That is unnecessary! How can you tell us to follow you to the police station because of something so little and you even handcuffed us?!"
"I'm sorry, but it is for public safety, so that you do not run away while I'm escorting you to the car."
Pale faced and almost on the brink of tear, Liu Rachael walked in front ahead of the officer with her ex-boyfriend right beside her, while the eyes of the crowd burned a hole at their backs as the three made their way to the police car that was parked by the side of the road.
