Liu Rachael waited by the side of the road to flag down an oncoming cab, but the ones that showed up kept on driving by, it was beginning to drizzle as the dark skies sent tiny raindrops causing the dress she wore to have dark dots on them. The wind wasn't helping at all, as it carried with a chill within it.
She kept looking at the time on her cellphone, as a minute turned to five minutes since the time she'd stood waiting for a cab to stop and pick her up.
A few other people walked by and kept looking at Liu Rachael. The women that were among them whispered as they pointed in her direction. They kept staring at her, which was a bit uncomfortable for Liu Rachael.
"She's beautiful!"
"Look at the dress and those shoes! I bet they cost a lot, I wish I could afford that!"
Liu Rachael felt somewhat self conscious when she caught what they were saying about her, wishing that the cab could quickly show up and take her away from there.
"I hope they go their way and not stop to ask me anything."
A cab eventually slowly pulled up to where she stood, afraid that someone will come out of nowhere and steal her ride, she ran as though her life depended on getting inside. Grabbing the door handle, Liu Rachael got into the backseat of the car.
"Ah! Thank you Uncle! I thought I will have to trek to where I was going!"
An older man that looked as though he was pushing seventy sat at the driver's seat of the green and white sedan cab.
"No worries Miss, just don't you worry. I will get you to where you need to go."
