Ania felt a strong vibration under the depth. The feet of hers touched a slimy and hard object underneath but suddenly vanished. Her eyes wandered around the area and dived underwater to see the object that touched her.
The water is so clear that even the brown leaves in the bottom are visible. Maybe the things that she just felt earlier is just her imagination. There is nothing beneath her but floating leaves. But the vibration is getting stronger.
"Plop"
The butterflies that are still flying slowly drop themselves into the water. Ania felt something moved once again in the water.
Black. Ania saw it was black. It moves around the water that cause it to shake and create a big waves. In that moment, Ania knew that she must not stay in the water. That kind creature must possess a large body to be able to create this disturbance of water.
She tried to swim out of the water when she felt something was not right. The position where she is at is the same no matter how she propel herself in water.
She looked underneath her just to see a very large creature trying to engulf all the water towards it. Because of the sudden force and sudden swallowing of that large fish, this cause a whirlpool to form in the center of the water.
Because of the pressure of the water pulling her towards the center, Ania cannot help but to held on to anything she can touch. She hold on to the grassy area near the ground, thanking that she was near it. She gave a small sigh knowing that she is safe. She looked at the butterflies that was now being washed away into the center towards the big fish.
The butterflies are not the predator, instead it was the prey! All this time, its purpose is to be fish food. She watched as the butterflies still keep on dropping themselves in the water. So that is the reason why there are a very large amount of butterflies in this place.
Ania cannot help but to clench her hands on the grass. This grass serves as her rope but it was only for the mean time. The grass is not strong enough to handle the pressure and easily broke. With the grass breaking, she grip the soil with force that the dirt entered her nails. She doesn't care about dirt, staying in the surface is more important now.
But even with all her effort, the pull is stronger that the ground was lifted, turned over, and partly pulverized the soil. And soon her hands reached the end of the ground and was unable to hold any soil. Now her body is pulled over to the center and underneath it.
Even with all the bubbles and the strong circular current, she saw a quick glimpse of the large creature that cause all of this to happen. This creature is something new to her that she didn't know what to call it.
It has a long snake-like tail of a seahorse. But unlike the seahorse, it has a a hands of a shrimp and a head of a lampey fish. Its hands was used to crawl in the bottom and tail to push itself up. Its head has a small toothed, funnel-like sucking mouth. But instead of sucking a blood, it sucks the water towards it to catch its prey and filter it with its mouth.
And now Ania is being pulled towards it. Its small sharp teeth opened wider welcoming her. With a few kicks in the water, Ania made the distance around her and that creature a few feet away. The creature sucks the water faster making their distance nearer. But again was further thanks to Ania's kicking.
With this action, the creature looks displease and stop sucking the water, making the flow of water return back to normal and used its tail to push itself towards Ania. Seeing this, Ania immediately swim away from the creature. The distance been the creature and Ania is still great that it extended its long claws to reach and cut Ania. With the remaining strength of Ania, she gave a few kicks and avoided the long claws of it.
The creature went back to the bottom. With its heavy weight, it cannot stay in the upper part of the water and will eventually found itself back to the bottom. While Ania reached the upper part of the water and swallow a few deep breath. She holds her breath for a long time and swam with all her might that it made her feel energy drained.
She floated in the water as she waited for her strength to return. It was not even a minute pass when she felt a vibration under the water again. The creature is making a second push of its tail and went towards her. Her strength is still not enough for her to avoid this and was clawed back to the water. Thankfully, it was only a part of her clothes, or else, her body will be split into two.
She forcefully ripped her clothes and swam away from the creature but was wrapped with it snake-like tail. Its sudden pulled made Ania off guard. Its tail wrapped around Ania tightly that she cannot help but to let a few air out. This cause both small and big bubbles come out of her mouth.
If she will let herself remain stuck in here, she will lost all of her breath. She immediately thrust a piece of sharp wood into the tail of the creature. It was a stick that she accidentally took when the creature pulled her back. This cause the grip to loosen and blood to ooze out . Seeing the chance to attack, she hold the stick and pierce it into the thick shell of the claw. It was a impossible job to fight a thick shell with just a small and fragile stick. But with a sharp eyes that findeth a weak point and a fragile yet sharp stick, it is not a hard thing as you thought.
With a small opening, Ania made the crack even bigger and twisted a few claws. The creature cannot help but to cry out loud and struggle but unable to do anything. Its sharp shout made Ania notice the head part of it. She went near it and pierce the eye area. Another wail followed and Ania thrust it inside the mouth. The blood flow out of its body and dyed the water black. It gave a piercing cry for the last time and everything turned silent. It was then Ania remembered that she needs to go to the surface to breath...
