Seated in a yoga pose in the garden area on top of the house, Alyssa Ruan and Rosangela Wang look up at Marvin Wang for instruction.
"Now, this training is all about connecting to your element that you have or will have." Looking at his daughter, "Rose, you have done this for the past 3 months. Can you tell me what you are supposed to find?"
Rosangela Wang nervously laugh and said, "Err… a sphere inside our body?"
Marvin Wang sighed. "You did not practice, did you?"
"Not always."
Shaking his head in disappointment, "You need to practice connection before you enter for training. If you don't, you may be the last in the class or worst retain until you pass. You have known the stories I have told you about those having elemental powers without their family around to guide them. They tried their best in the training, but the majority are listed from the middle to last in class."
"I understand. I will take it seriously from now on."
"Moving on, for finding the connection from inside of you, you need to search deep within your soul. Not inside your body, Rose. Our elements connect to our souls which is why we must have a deep connection to it. Relax, breathe, and look deep, you will find a ball. Every element has its own colour of energy. Red for fire, deep blue for Water, green for Earth, light grey for Air, light blue for Ice, yellow for Electric, purple for Energy, white for Light, and dark grey for Darkness. For you, Rose, you will be only be able to find a multi-colour ball as your selected power will only be unlocked on your 21st birthday. But do take note, in some cases even if your ball is multicolour, one of the colours may be brighter than the rest."
Both girls nodded, and they close their eyes. Following Marvin Wang's instruction, Alyssa Ruan concentrates on finding her ball of elements. She sees a sea of black, not seeing any colour that Marvin Wang mentions. Her elements colour should be deep blue and light grey but the colour are not insight. She frowns in confusion. Did she do something wrong?
'Don't think. Relax and look around in the dark, let the path shown to you instead.'
Hearing Ryker Wang's voice, she relaxes and look around. Suddenly in the corner of her eyes, she saw a different colour. Turning to see it, it looks like a small dot of white in the sea of black. She decides to go closer to it, and the more she goes, the bigger the dot becomes and the colour change from a white to a blue.
When she reaches just about a few steps away, she can see that in the ball of blue, there is a mix of light grey and deep blue that is intertwined with each other that cause the colour to be mixed.
Suddenly a memory pops into her head, a ball of red in the darkness. Recognising its Ryker Wang's memory, she thought out to him.
'Red, that is for your fire element, right?'
'Yes.'
'What should I do with this?'
'Touch it.'
She reaches out her hand and when her finger touches the ball, she felt whole. Her senses feel sensitive like now she can feel the wind in brushing her body and the water flow she heard in the kitchen of Wang's home.
'Is it supposed to be like that?'
'Yes. Your 5 senses will be pull up whenever you want to use your element. Now, try using your senses to see how far you can find a water source and the weather.'
The farthest water source she can hear is from a canal 5km away and she can feel the sensitivity of the change of weather as the winding touching her skin as it feels like it will rain later in the day or night. The coldness in the wind blowing from the south gently calling to her to go to them.
Without knowing, Alyssa Ruan was off the ground. She broke from her concentration when Marvin Wang grabs her to prevent her from going anywhere. She opened her eyes and freak out which cause the wind to blown harder around the 2 of them.
"How do I get down?"
"Ally, I want you to take a deep breath and calm down." Once Alyssa Ruan did what Marvin Wang said, he nodded and continue, "I want to focus on the air around you and gently guide the air to let you down slowly."
She concentrates the surrounding air and felt it move around her in a tornado with her in the middle. She slowly guides the air to bring her back to land, when her body touch land, the air dissipate.
"What happen just now?"
"That is one part of your power under the Air Element. You can control the surrounding air around you. Which also makes it dangerous if your emotion is out of control. As it's the same for all element holder. Like Ryker and mine, we need to be away from fire when we are angry or frustrated cause when we are near it, we can burn down everything around us."
"So, all those earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, fire forests, and more, are caused by us?"
"Half of it is due to mother nature but the other half, well…"
Without Marvin Wang saying it, Alyssa Ruan can guess the answer. Looking over to Rosangela Wang who is still in her meditation unknowingly of what is going around her. Alyssa Wang can see a light sheen of multi-colour around her body.
"Is the light around Rose is the power of all the elements before the selected one unlock for us?"
"Yes. In the past, it was obvious which elements will be with us for the rest of our lives. But now with our blood having a mix with all 9 nines due to our ancestors, it's hard to differentiate. On some occasion, we can see which element colour is glowing more as that may be your element. The more you meditate, the clearer which element is yours before the unlock so that we can prepare you before your birthday comes. Right now, we can see Rose have more green light than the rest of the colours. It may be likely she is an Earth element holder."
"Does the final element unlock is different from what is predicted?"
"In a few cases. But the majority is always correct."
Soon, Rosangela Wang comes out from her mediation and that is the end of the training for the day.
